Deck Import

Mulligans

I copy this deck from Apdrop. I felt that I could improve this deck by
replacing some of the non-core cards:

  • Elise Starseeker–>  Prince Malcheezar

You really want 5 extra minions in your deck to assure not running in
fatigue (I tried with Elise but I personally prefer Malcheezar in this deck
and preserve your core cards). The drawback of Malcheezar is not getting key
answers when facing early threats; however this deck has good draw card-mechanism and a wide range of AOE cards with low manna-cost.

  •  Stormcracker –> Hammer of Twilight

This weapon is incredible worthy: 1. It gives you a 5 non-situational drop and you can combo with Elemental Destruction/Doomsayer. 2. It gives you a card advantage as 2/3 minions can be smashed with this card. 3.The importance of injuring yourself before taking advantage from your healing-strategy

  • Thinkmaster Overspark and Ancestral Knowledge –>  Azure
    Drake x2

I don’t feel Thinkmaster Overspark is still being worthy since it was nerfed (“random minion”). Azure Drake is one of my favourite 5 drops for its versatility in this deck: 1) Draw card. 2) Enhance your spells. 3) Triggers Spirit Claws (that’s why I choose to include a second copy of both cards).

  •  Doomsayer –>  Spirit Claws

I feel that having one doomsayer would be more than enough, considering
that we swing Elise to Malcheezar.

I would be glad to answer all of your questions.

I really don’t like Prince Malcheezar in this deck for one reason: you loose the surprise factor. Yesterday, I went 10-2 (rank 5 to 4) with J4CKIECHAN version and surprise makes me win several matches. Opponent thinks you are playing mid shaman and plays accordingly, for example I saw many warriors drawing a lot and wasting removals (for example using a brawl on manly totems or executing an azur drake), then they realize they are facing a control deck but it’s too late…

I was thinking about putting malchezaar in my version, but I don’t think that’s a good cause it lowers the heal draw consistency. If you can’t get one off your heal cards in time (there are only 3 of them normally btw) you just lose.

hello, i am very glad to see your changes from the original one, cause i also have used that one in the chinese ladder, but not good enough with 11-10, lost 3 all games to slow warrior, just because i used 2 mana tide totems, and got tired more quickly. But i got a good result with midrange shaman, 5-1. I am afraid your changes that with less cycle, can not defense your face well against argo decks. how do you think?

Mana tide totem is a versatile card, however is very important to know how to use it in every match-up. Can be used to cycle cards when your current hand is useless, (2) Can be used as a distraction against zoo-warlock/face-hunter deck, (3) Gain card advantage when facing mages/rogues. (4) In Warrior decks I don’t usually summon this totem in the lately game (with less than 8-10 cards in my deck)

One of the worst match-ups was Worgen-warrior so I really feel that this deck will improve with the next update. However, we will see how useful is still being Yogg. Perhaps Arch-Thief Rafaam or Ysera would be the natural replacement.
