Mulligans
Combo Mulligans
These are the 4 main types of cards you can try to mulligan for.
- Cleric is overall good, and trades well. Great for draw power.
- Keleseth is really good for tempo
- Duskbreaker you want for early aggro decks like Paladin/Hunter/Rogue
- I keep Spiteful sometimes vs a deck I know i'll last till turn 8-10. It will give me great tempo and make sure I start to take control of the board at turn 6-7.
Good climbing deck for standard ladder.
-Captain/Patches is almost a staple for every type of early deck. It’s good for surviving the early game, and good if you use keleseth.
-Cabal is good for trying to steal Lackey from cube locks.
– Keleseth for tempo
– Spellbreaker is really good in this meta right now. Great vs warlock to silence Lackey/Void or if he leaves Cube up.
– Dragons for Duskbreaker, so you can clear aggro decks like “aggro paladin” and hunters. Also beats early rogues who gets pirate combos.
-Spiteful is your main combo. Pray to the RNG gods.
-Archivist is last. Make sure you use him correctly. It’s a toss-up between FFAmber/MC, but if you drawn Ambers and only have MCs left make sure you use the MC correctly. You don’t want to use Archi with MCs left with a board of a bunch a 4/4 and 2 1/1 tokens. Doesn’t really make sense to gamble. Make sure you use it wisely.
If you’re having major issues with Secret Mage since counterspell and explosive runes will do heavy damage to this deck feel free to try and sub in EoS (Eater of Secrets). I would sub out a Tar Creeper or Talonpriest.
Mulligan you’re looking for 1-3 drops (NOT PATCHES). *Against aggro make sure to get Duskbreaker + a Dragon to clear board at turn 4-5, or when necessary.
