I’ve loved Mecha’thun since it first released back with The Boomsday Project and just recently hit level 60 with Rogue in only 8 months of very periodic play. I wanted to combine the two somehow, and I believe the introduction of Walk the Plank allowed this deck to take shape. I don’t have every card yet, but I’m working towards it to test this out. Even if it isn’t the best Mecha’thun deck out there, I’m trying to add to the archetype as much as I can to see it potentially reach a higher tier. I will edit as my own testing is performed once I have all the cards crafted.
The basic combo is this:
- Play Galvanizer at least once while Mecha’thun is in hand.
- Play Myra's Unstable Element once you have Mecha’thun, Preparation, Galvanizer (if you haven’t decreased the cost of Mecha’thun to 9 yet), and Walk the Plank in hand.
- Play down your hand as quickly as possible to avoid fatigue until you have only Mecha’thun, Preparation, and Walk the Plank in hand.
- Play Mecha'thun.
- Play Preparation.
- Play Walk the Plank and target your Mecha’thun for the KO.
Let me know in comments if anybody tries this deck out. I’m curious to hear how it goes for you before I get the chance to play it for myself. Best of luck to you, and I hope you have fun playing!
