Mulligans
General Mulligans
If you don't already have one, usually you will draw into a dragon to activate Blackwing value.FINAL EDIT: Tried a few card swaps here and there but I was never able to get this deck to come in consistently higher than about Rank 14. I am shelving it for the time being, maybe in a different meta. Special thanks to everyone who helped with card selection down in the comments.
EDIT: -2 Ironfur Grizzly +2 Aldor Peacekeeper –because it just really needed to happen… (credit Bling for spurring me to action there)
EDIT: – 1 Ragnaros the Firelord; +1 Alexstrasza –A lot of back and forth between Alex and Ysera, ultimately I think Bling is probably correct that Ysera would have more of a place here, but since I had neither and had to pick to craft something I wanted Alex for some other decks as well so that made the decision for me; I suspect the healing will help against really fast aggro decks, but too early to tell.
Possible Improvements (which I have yet to pull the trigger on crafting): Twilight Guardian (as sub for Cyclopian Horror ; Ysera (as possible sub for maybe Alex or Nefarian, but would need to be tested)
[[To start with a disclaimer: (1) this deck is very much a work in progress and is being posted for help with refinement (if it is even a workable model); and (2) some of the choices may seem odd, however I am a F2P player so it reflects some of the limitations of my collection.]]
So I have long wanted buff pally to materialize ever since I packed a Eydis Darkbane early in TGT. Though seemingly insignificant Divine Strength actually improved greatly on my previous model because of the additional stickiness it seems to provide. Since Dragonkin Sorcerer is a thing I decided to combine buffs and dragons to make the concoction now gracing your screen.
So far it has been playing like a mid-range deck where after turn 4 the goal is to trade well and constantly have a large threat on the board that your opponent must deal with. If you can survive the initial turns well enough through Cyclopian Horror or Consecration you should be able to keep the board against an aggro deck. If you get ahead in the mid game you should also be able to out draw a control opponent through wise use of Blessing of Wisdom and Solemn Vigil, you should be able to break through to lethal.
If you are familiar with the old MTG jargon of Timmy, Johnny, and Spike, this deck makes the Timmy heart in everyone a little happier as you will constantly be dropping (or more accurately buffing into) beefy minions.
That being said, the deck does have some consistency issues, and some problems where it just gets out gunned by some of the more prominent net decks that are starting to develop in this new WotOG meta. As someone who likes to tinker with home-brews I would be very appreciative of an collaboration in the process.
Some cards that I have tired and ditched before posting are Djinni of Zephyrs and Deathwing, Dragonlord but they always felt too slow to be anything more than win-more cards. (Even if it was fun to have Dragonkin Sorcerer buffing Djinni of Zephyrs and swinging for ridiculous numbers.)
If you try it, I hope you have fun; if you see it and say “what the hell is this guy thinking” then sorry you made it this far into the description, and if you think “hmm what about X card,” please chime in.

I dont have darkbane the idea sims nice i would change the vigils por azure drake it will help you with the sinergies and give you another card in a nice body.
Sorry for the bad writing i speck spanish
I would personally use Senjin over the cyclopean horror. Usually you are hitting the buff with 1-2 minions on the board unless they have a full board, in which most cases the +1 health per minion would be very helpful. I would also run PeaceKeeper over the Ironfurs. My last change would be to use Ysera over Rag, I don’t actually own him, but I feel like another big body dragon would be helpful.
Yea, I have been going back and forth on what I am going to craft next and whether that should be Ysera, haven’t been able to pull the trigger yet since I am also considering Alex.
And yea, the grizzlies need to go…
Alex Definitly
Ysera is slower but the value after a few turns is great alex give you instant value and whit a good board maybe all you need i will try alex and ket you know
Well the thing with Alex is that you either set up for lethal or you heal a good amount, but it doesn’t do crazy amounts in this deck. I would definitely use Ysera over Alex, but I wouldnt mind testing both out if you want to know which to craft.
If you have the time/interest to test out either one that would be awesome.
Yeah Durg, there any way u can DM me? I would love to help you out!
Edited the deck subbing in Alex (since I had more use for her in other decks, not because I necessarily disagree with your Ysera arguments). I dunno if Topdecks actually has a DM feature.
Wow, I would love to try this, but I don’t have dust for darkbane ?
She is legit, but she is also a huge removal target and rarely stays around for very long before death or silence. You may be able to just use the Dragonkin sorcerers and sub her out for a Twilight Gaurdian or something (or Lightbane of course)
I have her and definitely wouldn’t say she is worth crafting. I rarely find a use for her these days. I only really used her in pre standard dragon priest.
