Mulligans
General Mulligans
Muligan hard for elemental allies, having it in opening hand significantly improves this decks success/win rate, if you are only drawing (mostly)mid range elementals with you're spells already in hand you can deal with a lot with this deck.
Personally i always keep an arcane amplifier if i get one in muligan, otherwise i full muligan for elemental allies. I'd also be happy to elemental evocation out the amplifier for turn one, giving 5 potential damage turn 2 even playing it turn 3 alone as a 2/5 is hard to get off board. and adds some tempo when most opponents wont expect you to have any tempo.
i would not bother to keep anything else outside these 2 cards. not even the firehawk/violet spell wing unless you already have elemental allies.
The Aim is to make use of elemental evocation for cheap cosmic anomaly, into fireball and/or frost bolt to do good burst damage to enemy hero. Celestial emissary adds this similar burst capability for a single spell, which is fine as we don’t have many spells. To achieve this we aim to play/trade our elemental’s and few spells strategically till we can make the plays
I like to run a conjurer’s calling for getting some extra value out of late game board presence after having to trade into the opposition.
Sorcerer’s apprentice is only of limited value for most plays with this deck. Its so heavily targeted when played it can actually keep other more valuable cards alive, i see no benefit to more than one in this deck.
more expensive cards of interest to add to this deck would be khadgar, for the triple animated avalanche, and jan’alai the firehawk (spelling) because arcane amplifier can rapidly speed up the process of dealing 8 damage with hero power and summoning a ragnaros, it can be done almost passively. likewise I do run a siamat and mana giant at the moment but mana giant isn’t actually so strong in this deck it is very situational with the mana cyclone. i also tried chenvaala but there isnt a very good synergy for our mid/higher cost spells and becomes very situational.
