Mulligans
General Mulligans
Generally I mulligan everything but these 3 cards. Aluneth should be kept because the deck is on a whole other level when you have it vs games you don't have it.How it Works
This deck plays like many other burn decks, where it wins by stalling the board with board wipes and freezes, then burning your opponent for 30 damage. However, there are a few key differences. First off, Arcane Explosion is extremely underrated in the current wild meta. Call to Arms Paladin is far and away the most popular deck, which gets blown out of the water by a spell power Arcane Explosion and sometimes even a non spell power Explosion. Spell power Explosion also deals with Token Druid’s Living Mana and 1/1’s buffed by Power of the Wild. Additionally, Aluneth has added a lot of power to burn mage. In wild, mage has access to Forgotten Torch, which complements Aluneth nicely.
Blingtron???
Blingtron 3000 may seem like a horrible inclusion, but it actually works very well in this deck. When Aluneth gets you down to your last few cards, Ice Block becomes worthless when you end up dying to fatigue. Playing Blingtron allows you to destroy your own Aluneth and gain a few more turns through your Blocks to burn your opponent out. When all else fails, don’t forget you could give your opponent a Cursed Blade for a chance to steal the game. This being said, the deck still functions very well without Blingtron, as it counters the minion flooding meta.
Card Substitutes
You can also play around with Oracles, Scientists, and Ice Barrier. If you do run 2 Scientists I recommend adding 1 Ice Barrier as well. If you don’t have Aluneth, 2 Oracles are necessary.
