Mulligans
General Mulligans
Backstab, Deadly poison: Simple, early game tempo and advantage.
Swash: Duh. easy early game tempo.
Shiv: Early game removal and card draw. Good bye NOVICE engineer. (If you are a rogue and you use Novice Engineer over shiv, please quit hearthstone).
Plated beetle: Early game 2/3, deathrattle, armour gain. SOLID.
Shadowblade: Removal for free and a weapon to hit face on the turn after that.
Fan: AOE, Removal, DRAW. UTILITY! I LOVE IT. No brainer.
Vryghoul: Sticky minion, could choose golem over this.
IF THIS DECK IS BUDGETED IT COULD BE LESS THAN 2000 dust if you remove the two unnecessary legendaries...BUT KEEP N'ZOTH. Unless you want to play above rank 15.
So this deck is a bit of a unique creation. I’m pretty creative. It performs decently at the higher ranks 15-20. So don’t expect it to suddenly kick ass. But it uses some good cards, I won’t pretend it has the best selections but it certainly has some GREAT STUFF!
Deathrattle: This is the main theme of the deck and justification for N’Zoth. N’Zoth allows us to edge out control, but this is more of a midrange aggro control deck. Not super aggro but aggro enough.
Card Choices:
Backstab, Deadly Poison, Buckler: Common sense. Duh.
Shiv, finder, beetle: Shiv is good for draw, beats the loot hoarder…WHY? Well it’s a 2/1 which is USELESS IN THE LATE GAME. AND CANNOT GUARANTEE A TRADE IN THE EARLY GAME. IF you can deal 2 DAMAGE, then you got value, if you can’t, shiv is better in every instance. It doesn’t clutter N’Zoth and it REALLY DOES guarantee some damage as well as draw. To face or minions. Beetle. Solid 2/3 that’s good for life gain/heal. Synergizes amazingly well with MOAT LURKER. 2 mana for 6 life and a 2/3? YEAH I’LL TAKE IT.
Shadowblade: GREAT WEAPON. Immunity + Poison = 5 damage to an enemy minion while taking no damage and left with a formidable 5/1 weapon for 4 mana. GREAT VALUE.
Fan of Knives: Card Draw. Removal. AOE. Knuff said.
Golem, Ghoul: Deathrattle, and STICKY MINIONS. Golem provides 2/1 when it dies which is nice, Ghoul means that if your opponent kills it they still have to deal with 2/2, if they ignore it you get 3 damage guaranteed and a possible favourable trade. Either way, value ensured.
Hoarding Dragon, abomination: GREAT STATS. Deathrattle sucks (mostly abomination) so feel free to take out abomination for second dragon. This deck change will be made when I have the spare dust available. EDIT: Removed abomination. Bad synergy with deck otherwise, especially if summoned with N’zoth. 2 coins for the opponent is less costly; think about it, if it’s late game and they’ve only got 1 or 2 cards HOW BIG A DAMN DIFFERENCE WILL 2 Coins make? OH NO! They got to use their hero power for free!!!. Unless they’re rogue, then we’re f*****.
Monk: LOVE THIS GUY. Any face hunters? Annoying rogue mirror? Well sucks to be them, because they have to deal with a tough 6 health minion which wastes time and resources and is enough to put you ahead or turn things around. Good in pretty much every deck I think. Hands down one of the BEST CARDS of the recent set.
Blade: YOU COULD NOT be a BLADED BADASS Rogue without this. NOT REPLACEABLE. Can smack face, can hit board. Can be 6 mana 5/4 terror for your opponent. Love it.
Fox: Excess value, not really needed but fun.
Oakheart: Good for quickly gaining board control. Good value on regularly getting out a monk or ghoul. Bad for the 1/1 swashbuckler, but you can’t have everything now, can you?
N’Zoth: We are playing a deathrattle deck, so DUH. Also lategame control, IF IT COMES TO THAT. Flexibility is KEY and that gives us the midrange edge we need!
Replacements:
Remove abomination for second dragon. EDIT: DID THIS FOR BETTER SYNERGY.
Remove oak and fox for any other legendary at the 8 drop slot. Good choices include the Lich King, Ragnaros (if wild), and if you wanted YOGG, BUT NOT MUCH SYNERGY FOR YOGG HERE!!!
