Mulligans

General Mulligans

1. Babbling Book and Shimmering Tempest: Because the deck has no cheap spells it is sometimes important to get spells normally run in mage decks off of random spell generation cards such as these to gain control of the board in the early game. Though it does rely heavily on RNG it's necessary for the other cards in the deck to work.

2. Raven Familiar and Coldlight Oracle: Because of the loss of Arcane Intellect in the deck, new forms of card draw are necessary, Raven Familiar should draw a card most of the time unless you're playing the mirror and Coldlight guarantees as much card draw as Arcane Intellect. Because of the limited card draw in the deck, it is crucial you get the few card draw tools there are.

Aggro Mulligans

1. Lone Champion: Because of the heavy shift towards 7+ on the curve Lone Champion will often activate on turn three and is crucial to stemming the bleeding against a strong early game push.

2. Prince Valanar: As the only 4 drop in the deck you will very much want to drop him on turn 4 against any opponent but especially against aggro to restore the health lost from your first few week turns. Especially important if you don't get out Lone Champion on turn 3.

3. Blizzard with Arcane Artificer: Only look for one when you're holding the other but fantastic health and board swing on turn 7 that comes with a must-answer minion with your opponents minions frozen down to also bait out removal on the Arcane Artificer.

Control Mulligans

Your keeps should largely stay the same against control but because of the opportunity to use the most powerful card in the deck without having to kill small minions early on you should definitely keep Spiteful Summoner. The ability to play a 4/4 with a 7-cost minion of turn 6 is huge and can lead to smashing down your opponent if you high-roll the random minion.

A deck based on the Kobolds and Catacombs cards that push a deck with only high-cost spells.

The goal of the deck is to out-value your opponent with high-tempo swings with Arcane Tyrant and Spiteful Summoner, summoning huge minions with your two Atieshs, and swarming your opponent with Water Elementals off of Frost Lich Jaina.
