Whether C’thun decks are good or not, there will be a lot of them when Whispers of the Old Gods drops. Having Grim Patron in your deck is an excellent tech card against C’Thun, as his missiles endlessly make more patrons and save your hero’s health. Not to mention that while even though patron loses unstable ghoul and death’s bite, it gains Tentacle of N’zoth and Ravaging ghoul as new activators. In addition, a lot of the base cards are still here. So this deck will likely be pretty strong and I will be running some variation of this deck in the new expansion.

Good deck. I think you have enough whirlwind effects with 2 whirlwind and 2 Ravaging Ghoul.
The tentacle of N’Zoth leaves too much freedom to your opponent to choose how they want to deal with it. You should know if you played explosive sheep before.
About countering Zoo, I wouldn’t worry about that too much. They don’t have the sticky minions any more so the 4 whirlwind should be enough.
If you want more whirlwind I would include a wild pyromancer. You can activate it yourself.

I think you’ve got a good point, and I’ll probably change it to just one tentacle if I don’t eventually remove it altogether. However, I’ve played some of this deck and the tentacles have come in pretty clutch in several situations so it remains to be seen. Besides, if not letting your opponent choose was the goal, then why would Unstable Ghoul be run? Mostly if you have targets on the field (patron, frothing, etc.), they won’t hit the tentacle leaving it for you to trade.

I don’t think patron is going to be a counter to c’thun. 1) you first have to have patrons on the board the turn c’thun is played and very very few patrons on the board. 2) If you do play patron on the c’thun turn your opponent will just clear instead. 3) c’thun is also more likely to fill the board with patrons and then just kill them all, especially if the c’thun is over 15ish attack.

As soon as a patron dies, there’s more room on the board for new patrons to spawn. In order for C’thun to clear a patron board, you have to bring 7 patrons to 1 health and then kill them all. That’s extremely unlikely. And yes, if you have a patron on the board they won’t play C’thun (if they’re smart). However, it means it’ll save you from OTK for at least another turn, giving you time to armor up, fill the board with more patrons, and set up grommash lethal.

Hogger is definitely an option. However, I’m unsure on how good that card is. The good thing about patrons is they multiply, whereas if a gnoll is damaged it doesn’t spawn another gnoll. It all comes down to how good that card is. Hogger just reminds me too much of Troggzor to put it in here right now.

I dont think that the tentacles will be that good but hey might be fun for normal rounds.

Are you kidding? Tentacles is awesome!

Tentacles are good because they do a decent job at stopping zoo which will likely be one of the main forms of aggressive decks now that sticky deathrattle minions are phasing out, as well as being a second whirlwind with a body. Example situation: you have a Tentacle on the board with a patron and frothing berserker, with your opponent having a knife juggler and an abusive sergeant. You run the Tentacle into the knife juggler, buffing the frothing twice. The tentacle then activates, killing the juggler and abusive and buffing the frothing 4 times and summoning a patron. This could be a very probable board state.
