Mulligans

Theory-crafting a new Murloc Paladin that is super aggressive and takes advantage of the new card Steward of Darkshire to keep your board alive. Let me know what you think about the viability of this deck and what could improve it.

[Edit 4/25/16] Replaced 2x Corrupted Seer with 2x Equality, in order to deal with what is likely to be a meta full of heavy taunts. Also replace 2x Divine Strength with 2x Rallying Blade since having a weapon and potentially buffing minions seems like it will be more mana efficient and drive tempo better. Thanks for the suggestions! Keep them coming!

[Edit 4/26/16] Replaced 2x Murloc Tinyfin with 2x Loot Hoarder to improve card draw while maintaining the number of 1 health minions.

[Edit 4/27/16] Made several updates to the deck. After a lot of thought, the original decklist lacked consistency and had too many cards that were not powerful enough when played individually. This new list should provide a little more consistency and combat the high number of powerful minions in the current meta. It still has a core built around the murlocs and 1 health minions though, as I did not want to stray too far from the original concept of the deck.

[Edit 4/28/16] Finally found a pretty consistent version of the deck that helped me to go 24-10 yesterday. Updated the list to what I was using. The key to winning with the deck was to aggro hard for divine favor and loot hoarders. In the early turns, just manage the board with as few resources as possible. Around turn 4 or 5, flood the board with murlocs, hopefully you will have a Steward of Darkshire to gain those important divine shields. An important note that someone had mentioned in the comments – your murlocs do not get the divine shield if there is a Murloc Warleader on the board when they are summoned. After that, hopefully you have a Divine Favor to reload your hand. Then just rinse and repeat. I also was trying too hold my Rallying Blade until I had minions to buff, which was pretty much impossible. It is better just to use it on curve to assist with removal in the early game. In the mid-game you can combine it with Hand of Protection to buff minions as well, which seemed to work well. Good luck with this version! It’s been treating me well.

I replaced the Rallying Blades with Sword of Justice, enormous turn 4 potential. Also removed the Loot Horders for a couple Sea Giants. Still loses steam pretty quickly, but with a decent enough first few draws I can usually hold the board long enough to cement my presence and go face. Experimented with Anyfin can Happen…never actually helped and crippled me more than once.

Why would you need 2 vilefin’s?

U can use ur summon with the first, resummon vilefin and use hero power again. this way u might get another murloc wich buffs/getsbuffd. also its safer to have two instead of one since its higher chance of drawing him.

Hand of Protection is definitely good in there, it saves your best murlocs, it gets a boost from the weapon, and works great with divine favor πŸ™‚

Maybe switching one oracle out for one Blood Knight, going to test that

I would definitely add selfless hero to this deck, but it really loses steam too fast. Also, corrupted seers are too slow for it

I replaced loot hoarder with noble sacrifice with a lot of success, it gets shielded by the Steward and saves a murloc in most cases, might consider it.

Holding my own at Rank 6. Maybe even creeping up slowly. Seems good. Right Meta, right time, this will do well.

    Replacement for vilefin?

That’s a pretty important card in the deck, but if necessary, I would use Selfless Hero.

I think u dont need an equality when u dont have any cards to clean the board. And of course for aggro deck Leroy is super strong card.

Thanks for the comment! Generally I have minions on the board, and equality allows my 1/1 to deal with their big taunt. I’ve tried adding in a consecrate, but it really isn’t any better. If you try it out and find something that works, please share!

I was working with the last version. I took out the loot horders for the new murlock that does 2 damage to all non murlocks. Those guys with Equality help a lot. You probably could get the same effect with consecrate, but i wanted the board presence.

Playing the previous version, since yesterday at Rank 5. Right now I am at Rank 3, liked that version much more. Indeed when you loose board, its really hard to get it back. But hey, that’s why it’s Aggro right.

This version has a lot of Divine synergy less Murloc and honestly do not like the mana curve, previous version was 8:10:10:2…..makes it perfect for Divine favor. My opinion, love the deck and love Murlocs!

I missed his old version, I am looking for a more murloc centered deck. What are you using?

The current version that is posted is very similar to the old version. I had made some changes, but since then, the deck has been changed back. One key difference is the addition of blessing of wisdom, which makes a huge difference in providing card draw until you can use a divine favor.

Just a note.. When you have warleader on the field, steward’s divine shield wont trigger on the murlocs summoned -> the +2/+1 buff comes first.

Simply loses steam way too fast, especially if you don’t get lucky and get Favor in your hand. Doesn’t stand much of a chance against the aggressive board clear decks floating around in the current meta. It was fun to play though.

Interesting deck that needs to be tried see if it can make it against huge Taunt and C’Thun Control Decks we’re expecting.
I would go for a Secret version of this deck, to have bigger threats later on. But it would loose some speed in the process.

unfortunately i had to downvote this deck because its not that good. It’s fun in theory and when you look at it, but it suffers from the same problems most murlock decks suffer from. Mages, Rogues, Druids will eat right through this deck. It’s not reliable in any fashion.

I agree! I’ve been trying hard to get this deck to work all day. If I get good draws, I can’t be beat, but that rarely happens. I’ll be working on it for the rest of the night and post my thoughts tomorrow.

One Bran for tidehunters , seers or blade could be a strong buff for deck

I have to wonder about tinyfin. I get that you can drop him easy and replace his spot in hand with Divine Favor but in games you don’t get a Favor by turn 5 you will severely run out of steam. I think an extra finisher like Leeroy, Truesilver, or BoK or the +3 attack divine shield buff (forgot the name) might be a better option. Overall though I like the deck and think some sort of Murloc/Divine Favor aggro deck could be a force.

Thanks for the suggestion! I agree that the murloc tinyfins may be unnecessary (since your hero power will essentially spawn them at some point in the game). After looking through the options, I felt like an additional draw engine may be better in the early game than a late game finisher. I went with the loot hoarder, since it also has 1 health synergy and draws you a card.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I agree that I should include a way to remove the heavy taunts in the upcoming expansion. I’m thinking cutting the corrupted seers and replacing with 2x Equality like @Summoner666 suggested.

What will you be doing about the huge taunts that will run rampant in the expansion

Great deck. Reminds me of aggro zoolock as it goes face after controlling the board. I personally think the deck will struggle with board clears and taunts, maybe some damage from hand such as truesilver champion, or run disciple of c’thun for early board and taunt removal. Equality can also be good for board control when you have board. For some sticky-ness I would add a harvest golems or increase divine shield synergy and add rallying blade. To add these cards, I would remove the weak spots of divine strength or murloc tinyfin or grimscale oracle, however I would not remove both murloc tinyfin and grimscale oracle as you need at least 8 activators for steward of darkshire for enough consistency / value. You can also replace divine strength with something like Mukla, tyrant of the vale. Like other aggro decks late game charge minions can help with closing out games, so consider adding leeroy or argent commander.

In addition cards with one health, notably wolfrider for an aggro deck, would also synergize well.

My biggest suggestion is a Blood Knight, what with all of the Divine Shields you’ll be handing out.

I think Corupted Seer is to slow for this deck, maybe Equality would be better?
