Dave Kosak has just announced his departure from Blizzard. He has joined Team 5 in November 2016, nearly 4 years ago. Previously, he has been working on World of Warcraft team as Lead Narrative Designer – he’s also been in some Hearthstone brainstorming session before officially joining Team 5 (one of which lead to the creation of infamous Patches the Pirate). He’s been working at Blizzard for 12 years in total.
In Hearthstone, Kosak was mostly responsible for the shape of PvE content after moving away from paid adventures and into free single player content. He worked on multiple projects, including everyone’s favorite Dungeon Run. Kosak has also appeared in most of the expansion announcement videos from the last few years, showcasing the first few cards from new sets in the most goofy and cool ways. Madness at the Darkmoon Faire announcement video is his latest, and sadly the last one.
He will be joining Deviation Games, a new game dev studio working on a secret project.
We will miss you, Dave!
Big announcement time!
After 12 remarkable years and countless adventures, I am moving on from Blizzard Entertainment. The other week I bid a fond farewell to the orc, who is dutifully wearing his mask. I will very much miss all of my Blizzard colleagues. pic.twitter.com/FJmDxFKhqN— Dave “Fargo” Kosak (@DaveKosak) October 27, 2020
Dave Kosak is amazing and I will miss him dearly
i find it entertaining when he’s the one who, in his own way, announcing every new expansion.
The last time I’m having a blast is when he announced Descent of Dragons on the frontline while Dean enjoyed some warm and hearty tavern.
Sad to see him go. Although I never heard of this Deviation Studio, I almost make the mistake of thinking, he’s gone to where all the Blizzard Veterans are.
He made the best choice blizzard Activision most worst company now because of Activision they are real scammers man they steal for paytowin
I can’t believe that you really made that ID with that name intentionally?
(Or perhaps using a fake profile coz you don’t want to ruin the sites good name? no one will ever know.)
Back to the issue, yes I did agree that Activision has ruined Blizzard in some way.
But doesn’t mean I have to hate all of the game they created.
If they make a good game, I still praise them for what they are, Otherwise, I will give enough critics like others. Honesty goes a long way with me.
