So kind of like Y’shaarj, but without the impactful 10/10 body for only 2 mana less, and no way to cheat it early?

Hopefully they make some more targets for recruitment un the future. Could be interesting with leeroy or charged devilsaur or grommash.
Well, it is warrior. Maybe opponents use their oozes on some of the other weapons warrior runs.
This weapon has a lot of potential. Being able to Forge of Souls of you don’t find it, possibly even Hemet your smaller cards to find big ass minions. Sure your opponent can ooze etc.. But they have to have an answer for a big ass minion or even a heavy taunt.
Not to mention warrior has alot of other weapons that could eat up the ooze for them… WEIT! Now that I think about it… WARRIOR HAS MOLTEN BLADE! Not only can warrior get this but they can also get all the other class legendary weapons!!
so this expansion is full of overcosted/understated/gimmicky cards… pretty much worst expansion up to now
I’ll say this about this card, it actually has the potential to get serious value, but in a ooze meta you only get one shot.
So far i only see like 3 legendary weapons that could have potential, and this is another one i hope to dodge when opening packs or when getting the free weapon…

all legendary weapons seem to be quite bad on a power level, doubt lots of people will play them. I mean even warrior, the weapon class, seems to get a weapon that just seems too random to be good and reliable. at the end of the day all you want from a card is to give a predictable and strong result.

Well i dont agree power level is high BUT they are realy slow like that one round 8 but with proper deck can do huge swings in tempo

Well, you get to both recruit a minion and equip a firey war axe the turn you play it, which isn’t too bad. If you recruit a minion 3 times, it will be a Varian (which saw play in tempo warrior). Overall, I think that this card is OK, and not to underpowered

Too bad its much slower than Varian and it can easily be removed before getting much value out of this weapon
Also if you recruit small minions then your losing a lot of tempo and big warrior won’t be as effective as big priest (no revives)
very disappointing card, very random, can we have the old control warrior back? i don’t want decks that cheat and rely on rng like big priest
Maybe easy Big easy Warrior becomes a deck? My problem with this card is that big priest seems to do the same faster and better.
Here’s hoping the Hunter weapon isn’t as bad as runespear now
I don’t think it really matters. They killed hunter so dead that their weapon would have to be seriously broken just for hunter to have even a chance at seeing serious play. Like even if the weapon and some other cards are good for hunter, the card quality is so much weaker than like everything else that it’s literally just become a question of why are you playing hunter? Like, yeah, sure this card isn’t alright, but it’s in hunter, so it’s pretty bad.
I wouldn’t say they killed the class as much as given it a face lift that couldve been a lot better. They’re clearly trying to make the class more than just smorc decks which is the only thing Hunter is good at. Hunter, imo has been the class with the least unique qualities. Of course there’s always been beast synergy. But now youre getting better deathrattle synergy, and secret synergy. The hunter legendary is actually really good in the right deck.
Getting three minions on the board almost for free? seems ok to me.
Not really. It’s probably going to be removed after one turn anyways. So you’re paying 8 mana for a mediocre minion unless you build a deck around a one turn play
actually, that 3/3 weapon is only worth about 3 mana and you’re paying 5 mana for a minion without battlecry and happens to be random
At first glance it’s over-costed, unimpressive, and vulnerable to oozes (unlike Vala’nyr and Kingsbane; thought all of the Legendary weapons from classes that actually swing them might get that consideration).
Maybe Warrior will get some kind of “draw and equip” or “equip a random weapon from your hand) card to enable this, but it’s not looking good now.
I’m no expert but doesn’t this legendary weapon have the same stats as the Shaman legendary weapon and similar effect but slightly worse?
Shaman has some crazy spells like bloodlust, evolve, Volcano, and lighting storm (Shaman has some bad spells too) and you can discover which spell you want but this weapon makes you recruit a random minion
And I doubt big Warrior would work because they don’t have sticky minions like Obsidian Statue and revival spells and ramp
Plus the earliest they can recruit a big minion is turn 6 and on top of that this can get Oozed after one turn making this an 8 mana Recruit a minion deal 3 damage
Well if it’s a big taunt, this would work. The only problem is that there are no big taunts worth running in a bigboydeck. Like what, are you gonna run mammoths and soggoths to pull them out on turn eight alongside 3 damage?
There’s the Lich King, a card that is played in some control warrior deck as a late game finisher
Obsidian Statue is just better because of the lifesteal and hard removal deathrattle sometimes the death knight cards are just unreliable

Well, classic overpriced card with slow with payoff.
But furthermore I’m thinking, even if it doesn’t get removed is it truly worth its cost (in mana and tempo loss)? Unless it’s in some form of no-early minions control warrior OR it gets buffed in durability OR you play Hemet, Jungle Hunter beforehand, it might pull out a small minion and then where’s the value in that?
If this is in a high-armor control warrior, then you can pull Yip from your deck and summon some big 10 drop. That’s pretty good value for an 8 mana weapon. Certainly better value than a “Random spell” with Runespear.
Too unreliable and requires more set up than Runespear and having only Yip in your deck is too risky (draw him too early, no other minions to pressure your opponent, easily removed in turn 8)
i can see this plus some Dead man’s hand shenanigans work…
However it has crappy stats just like the Runespear.
IF u run this in Control Warrior how r u gonna draw cards? U need Acolytes.
When i think about it ur gonna have to cut all early game minions like Acolyte, Armorsmith, Cruel taskmaster, Mountainfire armor and Ravaging ghoul. Against aggro these cards are awesome and cutting them makes ur deck super slow.
If the meta slows down enough then maybe !
the deck build would imply you’re running less card draw so you’re not stuck drawing big minions (that would make the Recruit cards useless).
the armor cards and removal are what you use to make it to Turn 6

Weak overall. good effect but too slow in meta where midrange and tempo crush everyone. if only that could be 5-6 mana cost then probably… for now control warrior is still dead. Eh i remember old good control warrior with sylvanas yasera alextraza and gorhowl…miss that deck.

Could see play in DMH Warrior if you also run at least one big minion. Could win in the mirror, but tbh the mirror doesn’t appear often, so you’re probably better off staying true to DMH Warrior. Control Warrior? That is where this card shines. 8-mana for three minions is really good, especially if you get a big Taunt right off the bat to compensate for an 8-mana 3-attack Weapon. Plus it saps from your deck, allowing you to get to your answers more quickly. Good card. 4/5
