Void Analyst Card Review
Pretty cool card, but I think that it came out too late. A while ago, Demon Zoo build was pretty popular and it worked quite nicely. It used Demonfire, Bloodfury Potion, Crystalweaver and a bunch of Demons. This would fit right in.
Right now, there are three main issues. First – Zoo decks aren’t exactly Demon-heavy. I mean, they DO run Demons, but not at an incredibly high density. Second – past the early/mid game, you nearly always empty your hand every turn, so this would be a vanilla 2/2 minion… not very exciting. And last, but not least – Prince Keleseth. +1/+1 for all minions is still better. Of course, when Warlock reaches a certain amount of good 2-drops (like Vulgar Homunculus), you might want to drop the Keleseth, but I don’t think it’s this one.
On the other hand, I don’t see it being played anywhere outside of Demon Zoo deck. I mean, giving your Doomguard and Voidlord +1/+1 is not really worth a card slot and diluting the pool of Demons for DK Hero. Maybe some Midrange Demon Warlock build will pop out eventually, Skull of the Man'ari would actually make it quite interesting.
So overall, it’s okay, might see some play in the future, especially after Keleseth rotates out. But it’s not amazing, nor I think that it will be played right now.
Card rating: 5/10
It’s kind of odd, if it wasn’t a demon, it would be played in demonlock because it wouldn’t mess up Gul’dan
Guess warlock joined the goons /,’
This coating either 1 with less stats or 3 with the same stats would be such a buff. The only thing wrong with it is that it costs 2, meaning you cannot play it in a deck (such as zoo) that also typically runs Prince Keleseth. Maybe Blizzard will change the mana cost, but, until then, this won’t see play.
This will be in standard for a year after keleseth rotates. Is it good now? Probably not, but I wouldn’t necessarily sleep on it. If Warlock keeps getting fairly solid 2 drops Keleseth might fall out of flavor. Even then the big decider on this card is how much value do you want in your bloodreaver? Even already doesn’t care THAT much since it runs the 4 mana 4/4’s and has enough demons for this to hit at least one usually (at which point it is BASICALLY a 2 mana delayed 3/3).
I’d give it a solid 3/5. Probably wont see play in zoo until we get at least one more 2 drop besides this and homunculus.
I like how she has a withered right arm.
It’s just the perspective, that’s a regular arm
IMO – the worst part is that it is a demon. I think it could work in some demon synergy decks, but you don’t want to revive this with the warlock DK.
I like the handbuff mechanic and I am happy to see it return, but this doesn’t make sense with what is in the meta.
I agree, it being a demon does suck. But by far the worst thing about it is the fact that it costs 2.
I wouldn’t say the cost is by far the worst. It won’t see play even after Keleseth rotates out next spring. If Keleseth wasn’t a card at all, it wouldn’t see play now either.
This card just combines all the bad things about a tribal buff card. Compared to Crystal weaver which had all the right things, and even then wasn’t really busted at all.
Stat line is bad, though that’s not uncommon for buff cards so is not a deciding factor by itself, but it only gets worse from there.
Hand buff is bad, board buff is much stronger as you get the effect immediately, and not have to wait at least 1 turn to use it.
Deathrattle as the trigger for buff is bad, as you have to wait at least 1 turn to benefit from it.
So combine these two and you have to wait at least 2 turns to actually get some use out of the buff. Which for an aggro deck just isn’t an optimal strategy.
fun and simultaneously bad. 2 drops like upgradable framebot and vulgar homunculus and direwolf could be worth running over keleseth (although very unlikely), but this just can’t buff enough stuff
never*
No it’s bad stop
1/5
If Void Analyst sees play anywhere, it would probably be in a Wild Midrange Demon Warlock deck given how many and how many better demons there are in that format. Even for that kind of deck, going with Krul and Reno might still be better, but the curve flame imp into this into Imp Gang Boss into either Voidcaller, Implosion, or Krystal weaver seems like it could be strong enough to get someone through the early ranks.
The selection of Demons in Standard isn’t exactly stellar. Maybe Zoolock will shift away from the heal focus its taken on towards more of a demon centered on again, but there would need to be more than just this card to do it. A good three drop demon on the same wavelength as Imp Gang Boss might be enough to do it though.
Pretty much a reverse version of Crystalweaver’s Battlecry.
There is no reason to run this over keleseth in zoo.
I love this card! I don’t know if it will see any play, but it is nice to see a bit of handbuff back. Also the newfound “demon” focus makes me very happy.
Don’t think it’s worth giving up Keleseth for. If you DO want to play 2-drops in your Zoo deck, why wouldn’t you use Vulgar Homunculus? You know, the Demon that you’re getting out of your hand in addition to the Demons you’re getting out of your hand on turn 1. How many buffs is this realistically going to land? Maybe 2 if you really build around it? Not seeing this card.
Decent addition to zoo. Maybe u add a bit more demons for some extra buffs. Stats are on the low side but it makes up for it. 3.5/5 needs a bit more support to fit into the current zoo decks.
ZOO!!!
You can’t run this with Keleseth. Will ever see play in Zoo.
Keleseth will rotate before this, it might see play then, but there’s already a lot of better options for 2 mana anyway, but maybe we will see a demons based zoo in the future. Right now tho, this is just bad
