It might look bad at the start but if you play both and then play Zul’Jin you get 10/10 worth of stats with rush. that’s a wombo combo.
I think this card is fun, and It works with the Hunter Hero (that I can’t spell and don’t want to look up) 3.5/5
Hey, not trying to be that guy, but was maybe just trying to see the wyvern art if you could attach it…
Well then at 8 cost could play this and revenge of the wild bringing the 5/5 and any other beast may have back from trades with wyvern getting another go with rush.
Baited Arrow, but Replace the 2 Damage with Rush instead.
Everyone seems to forget that hunter kinda needs the card draw/generation.
That with the Zuljin synergy, makes it a very good card.
I dont think midrange hunter will be a “thing” in the next meta so this card is useless…
when zul’jin plays all your spells, does anyone know if you’ll get a copy of the card when he plays the twinspell version. I feel like you should but i’m not sure.
Given the description of the mechanic uses the word “cast” instead of “play,” Zul’jin should give the version of the card without Twinspell when he casts the version with it.
thanks soups, thats good to know.
I think it will work pretty ok yeah dudes
3.7/5
The simple question to ask is if this is better than Savannah Highmane – and the answer is “probably”? The Rush is good if you’re against a board-centric deck. Against control, you get a second copy to remove the setback of them removing it. You have to pay the mana for it all over again, but without Deathstalker Rexxar, Hunter will be happy to have more big cards rather than more tempo in his lategame.
And obviously, it rules with Zul’jin. Thumbs up from me.
Probably? You are not serious are you?
This card is probably okay, it really depends on what decks are doing on 5 and whether this can answer the boardstate most of the time. This is also a pretty good spell to replay with Zul’jin.
Will it see play in Wild spell hunter? Meh, To My Side! is probably better.
A six mana 5/5 with rush probably isn’t that far off rate, and being able to play two with just one card perhaps could have meant Unleash the Beast sees play if it were in another class. This and Khadgar in the same deck would probably be fairly decent.
Even if it doesn’t make its way into constructed, it should be a common and powerful pick for Hunter in Arena.
Khadgar is a Mage minion.
I am aware. The sentence before I brought that card up mentions how much better Unleash the Beast would be in a different, and then I gave an example in the sentence you’re having issue with.
I think this is good. Its not broken but its good. You can compare it to the hunters mark and baited arrow. For 2 cards you can remove a minion and get a 5/5 dino. This gives you 5 dmg to the board for shure and if you hit a minion with less than 5 health you get a descent attacker. It is not as good as flanking strike. But you can cast it twice.
Also Zul jin value is waaay too much since you play both these and one additional in your hand. The big problem with zul jin is that he fills your board with garbade. And you kind of want something more control oriented. And you basicly lose to rexar in the control matchup. But with Zul’jin you get 4 wyvers on board and 4 in your hand. Whitch makes the extra mana not that much big of a deal.
You also want this in wild maybe not that much if you transorm into rexar before zuljin. But even though you can chancge rexar into zuljin for the turns that you are deep into fatigue for cool value. You will not be unpahhpy if you get this from the legendary bow.
Compared to the 6 cost legendary mech, hunter is getting this is better than it for any case 😀
Dust costs are important especially if the game is to bring new people to the table. There always will be cost and value to any card you will get. Its part of the deck building process. and sometimes you realize the value of some cards just because they are flexible. Jist like with the nourish wild growth. It was in the game for a very long time. But it was the UI that made people realize how good those cards are.
One of the cards that comes to mind to compare this to is Gladiator’s Longbow. Both cards allow you to remove two 5-health minions without taking face damage. But it costs a total of 12 mana to cast both copies of the Twinspell, but only 7 for the bow. And the bow has never seen play.
To be fair, there is the possibility of the Wyvern surviving it’s Rush attack, and synergy with other cards (Zul’jin, Leeok, …). But it just seems too fair to get overly excited about. This card doesn’t give me “it could be broken” feel that many of the Warrior and Rogue cards that have been revealed does.
Not a good comparison. The bow is an epic card. And in arena you are most gladdly picking the bow. Also the bow costs you your hero swing. Whitch is also a resourse you have only one of. And putting this into a secrets hunter with infinite bow stacks you can stil lswing with your weapon if you plat this on turn 6. And the 5/5 boddy is much more worth that just a swing. The minion is not going to get removed by itself. It is a beast also so you may activate your kill commands. And its not epic so you will most likely get this 😉
I have no idea why you are discussing rarity or Arena. NO IDEA.
because the ame is made that way that you will have to craft your cards anyway. I got corpsetaters like 9 times and meatwagon 5 times from KOTFT. So like it or not there is no RNG in the packs its all scripted. Just like the pitty timers etc. So like it or not you will have to craft most of the stuff out there there is no getting them out of packs to get al lthe legendary cards because of the pitty timer you will get them at some point but you will not get all the epic cards just from packs. You have to craft some anyway. But you are not that into the game to really know how much it costs to play those diverse and fun decks. And you haven’t played priest that much to know how disapointing it is to finally make that super heavy deck.
Packs are not scripted. There are certain rules and general percentages that have been determined by independent analysis of pack openings. If pack RNG was scripted the data would bear this out, but there is no evidence of that. And bear in mind that analysis of pack openings is what discovered the pity timer.
@Minti
“But you are not that into the game to really know how much it costs to play those diverse and fun decks.”
I have every single card. Cost is irrelevant to me. I’m not poor.
“And you haven’t played priest that much to know how disapointing it is to finally make that super heavy deck.”
WTF does this card have to do with Priest?
sry too much info thats just my observation so far. I am glad you are not poor games are not about how deep is your pocket its about fun. Its just stuff that happened to me as i started the game since i starter WoW with priest. And i have a fetish about the class.
And if there are rules and general percentages that means it is staged. You are staged to get a legendary at some point. The problem is that after they implemented the pitty timer I see much less random dropps of legendaries. Before it I would not get a legendary in about 100 packs than i would get like 5 legendaryes for 10 packs or something like that. I guess now is a bit more consistent per 40 packs or something. In any ways putting rules means you script it. And it is fair i am not saying its some scheme. It is just a fact that this is the way things work. Neither good nor bad.
Just so you know, I strongly suspect that pity timer was always there (or at least it was there much earlier than it was discovered). It was “proven” to exist in late 2015/early 2016, but based on the data from a few months before, so around the time of The Grand Tournament launch. And I remember players suspecting something similar even much earlier – around GvG/BRM. So it was 100% there in the mid 2015, but I do think that it was there ever since the launch.
We had some much earlier data which analyzed thousands of pack openings, but it was focused on something completely different – on the rarity distribution. And given that the rarity distribution proven by those early studies (e.g. from 2014) still holds (with the exception of getting a guaranteed Legendary in the first 10 packs), I think that Pity Timer was also there. People who organized the studies just didn’t know that something like Pity Timer might be there (and it’s hard to prove something that you aren’t even looking for), so they took data from anyone, including people who opened less than 40 packs at the same time (meaning that the data can’t really be used to prove or disprove pity timer existence).
From my anecdotal experience, me or my friends (and I had a lot of friends playing HS when it was still fresh, unlike now :s) never remembered going on a huge streak without opening a Legendary. I do remember hearing stories of people who went on 50+ pack streaks without getting a single Legendary, but it often turned out that the packs were from different expansions (and pity timer only works separately for each expansion).
Will definitely see play in any more mid-range decks, 4/5
Okay tempo, great value. 4/5
4 Star card – The presence of Zul’jin makes this a very strong card, however without Zul’jin I don’t see this making much play. Spring paw is only good because of scavenging hyena and amani warbear only saw play because of oondasta and recruit mechanics, however this is a spell so there is no way to cheat it out. That being said, Zul’jin is still a disgusting card and if more strong spells are printed this could go up to a 5 star card.
You lost me at springpaw is only good because of hyena.
That’s actually true. Spring paw was hardly playabel without beast synergies when you could have played fire fly, which has incredibly better stats. The beast synergies are keeping spring paw up.
Beast synergies in hunter are what make the card excellent. I was questioning the validity of saying it was only because of hyena. That statement just sounds naive.
Also just because firefly has better stats with a similar effect doesn’t mean springpaw is inherently worse. Firefly doesn’t have rush so both are used for different situations.
When I first saw Spring Paw I thought it was meh, since in Hs the 1/1 with rush have never been good, considering the fact that they are basically worse Moonfires. I was wrong because i didn’t consider the Beast synergies, but to be fair the most powerful (broken, if you ask me) is the Hyena one. Without Hyena I can see Sprin Paw seeing play, but not as much as before. Anyway, it is preety naive to say that Hyena is the ONLY thing that keeps Spring Paw playable.
Honestly, without hyena, springpaw is just a 1 mana deal 1 which adds a 1 mana deal 1 to your hand. The “your beasts have 1+ attack” synergies are essentially just a spell damage totem to this. Winning against a midrange hunter often comes down to whether or not he has springpaw + hyena. Unleash the beast does not have synergy with hyena (for obvious reasons).
Seems like a solid card.
Like Amani War Bear with -2 life for -1 mana and you get another one in your hand.
Amani War bear would be just bad if there wasn’t oondasta. Btw, amani war bear has also taunt.
A very good removal card for hunter that doesn’t waste a lot of resources. I’m getting a lot of spring paw vibes out of this one and this can work in both spell and midrange (the latter of which i most definitely going to stay in standard after the rotation). 4/5 a very good removal tool for a class that’s lacking in that area (midrange = OP)
Good evaluation! Very decent Arena card.
