How this card came to be:
Player suggestion: Priest needs a card like that Palladian one that turns something’s attack to one!
    Blizzard :Sure, that seems reasonable
Player: And it needs to have equal stats
Blizzard: That’s fine, we’ll just need to give it Dragon synergy to make sure it’s original
Player: Originnal huh? How about it also takes what ever it nerfs attack stat for its own! That would give players a lot of value! It may need higher health then though.
Blizzard: We’ll keep it in line with 3/3 stats by changing it to 2/4 which still gives it more health, but the damage swap seems to broken. How about we change it to giving another minion 2 attack instead of 1! That completely balances it gaining a bonus five to six stat points!
And so, a broken card is born.

I think the new meta will be Dragon Priest, Highlander Priest (classic), Quest Priest, Big Priest, N’Zoth Priest (without Quest), Aggro Priest, Dragon Highlander Priest, Tempo Highlander Priest, Quest Highlander Priest, Big Combo Priest, Burn Priest and Demonlock. That’s it.

I think we should just simplify it to shotgun priest.

AMAZING COMBO WITH KABAL SHADOWPRIEST. Steal attack from a strong enemy minion, then TAKE IT!!!

Let me change your mind x3

Opponent plays a big minion with a good effect? Swap stats, take the minion. Yay 😀

Priest is like: nothing useless for me in KaC 😀

Funny thing is a few years ago the positions were switched. I was always happy to be the only priest player though.

First of all Vol’jin is already an AMAZING card but this is cheaper,

I can’t wait to swap attack with C’thun. XD

Well that adn shadow word pain as 2nd late game removal? and it s preety decend overalll as 3 mana 3/4 or 4/4 or even more

    • DyingHawk
      December 4, 2017 at 4:50 AM

I honestly think 3 attack would make it balanced. two attack in priest in the sweet spot, priest now has mind control for a mana cheaper that comes with 6/7 in stats.

      • CD001
        December 4, 2017 at 6:07 AM

The Cabal Shadowpriest combo though takes 2 cards rather than a single Mind Control, reduces the attack on the stolen minion to 2 (relevant if it has Lifesteal or something) and drops the stolen attack onto something with only 4 health and doesn’t work with Altiesh… however, the Priest can _still_ have Mind Control x2 if they’re that way inclined, and Embrace Darkness for maximum YOINK!

As a potentially significant upside though – it’s not a spell. Which means things like Tyrantus or anything buffed with the Lich King’s Anti-Magic Shell are vulnerable.

Hell, even if you aren’t combo-ing this with Cabal Shadow Priest, it’s still like a more powerful version of Aldor Peacekeeper.

        • Jd
          December 4, 2017 at 7:48 AM

Though mind control has some upsides, don’t forget this combo is one Mana cheaper, and u get a 4/5 and a 4 health minion with, most likely alot of attack

  15. SimEgg
    December 4, 2017 at 12:55 AM

    Step one: This on anything
Step two: ”Let me change your mind”
Step three: All your stats are belong to us!

After seeing so many good cards released for priest, I was wondering what was going on, especially since quite a few of them are pretty broken, then I remembered rotation is coming soon, taking out Raza, and Kazakus, and pint-size/horror, and dragon fire, and Drakonid Operative, and Preist of the Feast, and quite a few more. But pretty much the main staples of Priest will be rotating out, so I think that’s why Blizzard are releasing so many just plain amazing priest cards, and also probably why their legendary for this expansion is pretty bad; otherwise it would probably be over the top. Now if only they had given hunter this same level of thought, probably more considering hunter didn’t have any good cards to begin with.

    • Rob
      December 4, 2017 at 2:37 AM

Well because getting raza into anduin only machine guns there face down like 50% of the time, so they need more broken cards to not only improve the winrate of that deck but also make all the other decks amazing, i mean think about it, if there’s only gonna be priest in the meta they may aswell have competing priest decks. but seriously the amount hunter is getting shit on vs what priest is getting, like leave them alone blizzard, hasn’t hunter been punished enough for there deathrite shaman shenanigans, think of the dinosaurs.

        December 4, 2017 at 6:13 AM

Priest is just getting a bit of love.
When compared to other classes priest always got way underpowered cards because of its strong class themes, healing and stealing. So entomb very good as a 6 mana hard removal. When there was a 3 mana frog and a 4 mana sheep.

That time there was patches, faceless 7/7 dude, tunnel trogg, doomhammer, iceblock, tirion, draw cards, paladin value cards.
I think it is very fair.

Priest mathmatically should have a higher winrate, because aggro should be weaker due to them playing more games in less time.

Many people like priest because it is as it is enviromentally friendly, you can heal minions and yourself. The white “colour” is also unique.l

Remember Priest in the year of the kraken? I’m super happy Blizzard is buffing Priest !

    • OParis
      December 4, 2017 at 5:55 AM

True, all the good priest cards are rotating(Except dk anduin and lyra). Even with this strong cards priest will be too weak without another 1-2 good expansions for them, after the rotate.
Say good bye to dragonfire potion, pintsizepotion+shadow word:horror, raza the chained, kazakus, nzoth, yshaarj and other stuff.
I can’t see a viable priest deck in 5 months without serious help.

priest: plays 3 mana card buffing to 12 attacking leaving death wing at 2 attack

Aldor Peacekeeper on crack. This is a crushing answer to going tall on the board. Dragon Priest also got Duskbreaker, a crushing answer to going wide on the board.

What is priests weakness right now again?

    • Muzek
      December 3, 2017 at 11:27 PM

bad players… also not getting your cards.

Priest weaknesses depend on the deck

DK Priest even after this expansion will still be weak to aggressive decks since duskbreaker wont be reliable enough early clear since you can only have one and need a dragon for it to prock, you probably wont load more that 5 dragons so you can have reliable draw so it’s still a chance it won’t go off by turn 4.

dragon priest is weak to control decks that can keep them in check and none of the cards revealed change that. mage should be able to handle them well and even warriors now that better control cards for them have been introduced.

Big priest gets wrecked by aggression, bad draws, transforming removal, and controllier decks, but this deck is getting the most buffs so im not sure.

I still agree with you priest is getting a lot of broken cards.

      • CocoAsticot
        December 4, 2017 at 1:34 AM

Lol DK priest has tons of answer to aggressiv decks

      • The Fatty
        December 4, 2017 at 3:11 AM

Weak to bad draws is not a weakness. Literally every deck is weak to bad draws. There is not a deck in the game that can’t draw badly.

And DK priest is literally a ton of anti aggro tools and draw with a 2 card combo that turns all of those anti aggro tools into burn for other Matchups.

          December 4, 2017 at 3:28 AM

Obviously. What I am sure the person was meaning is the current priest decks are more draw dependent than other more aggressive decks, etc that do not need to draw into to answers to properly play their strategy. Before we start trying to argue with people it is helpful to think. The person is right priest needs key answers on key turns, ever seen a tall board turn eight as priest and not had anduin? Ever been waiting around for a mindblast or eternal servitude?

Would be ok if it could only target friendly minions (as an egg activator or something) but like this its broken

    • Me

Wait no targeting an egg would make this a useless 0/4, my fault

They make a trash epic for hunter that literally needs your deck to be empty of minions, and then they release this? Why does blizzard do this

    • Bloodtooth
      December 3, 2017 at 10:51 PM

      They hate Hunters i suppose…

    • DyingHawk
      December 4, 2017 at 4:51 AM

The only “bad” card priest has gotten so far is their spellstone, all the rest has been insane. i wish blizzard knew class balancing…

      • Virilio
        December 4, 2017 at 4:56 AM

And still it will see some play in big priest as a lategame board filler

  24. Meta
    December 3, 2017 at 9:33 PM

Remember when priest was the laughing stock of hearthstone? Just like shaman before it? Lol if only they could find a way to make every class equal in power level, instead of rotating through them every year. This year priest is the favorite cause plebs whined about it being too weak, lul. Stop the class rotation and just make every class strong ffs.

      December 3, 2017 at 10:57 PM

dude, every card game is like this in a way….never has any card game ever had everything playable. its just never gona happen

      • The Fatty
        December 3, 2017 at 11:13 PM

I mean its the norm that in Magic Every color sees play. Its common for 2 of them to be stronger, but you’ll never see a standard rotation where theres just no deck thats willing to use Red.

Saying its impossible to balance a card game so the different classes/colors/races etc. all see play is just silly.

        • davidus707
          December 4, 2017 at 12:20 AM

I magic its just 5 colors that can convine up to 3 in the same deck! If hearthstone got triclass decks i can sure you all nine classes would see play evey rotation. And other think, there are decks and classes that actually are good but nobody plays them cause are not famous and people are like sheeps. I hit legend past month with control paladin for example, and saw 0 mirroirs in all my climb. Other exemple, Prince was printed in august and did’t see play till moths later, cause people didn’t realize it was good. Same hapened with Finja. So i like a balance of power level that sures that a palyer that knows how to build decks can hit legend with all different classes if palys good, in acuall meta you can. Whah I don’t like is people saying hey this class is trash, cause you don’t see a deck in the tiers, there is a world out there guys.

          • davidus707
            December 4, 2017 at 12:40 AM

So i am not saying its bad to play tier decks, I hit legend for first time with pirate warrior, I say you can make more decks

“There are two questions we got on this card, why would you make a card this broken? and priest is in the best spot it’s ever been right now, why would you print this now?”
