7 Mana, maybe, but 8 Mana for “Skip the Token buildup and just have the Tokens” is kinda iffy.
Too expensive to combo it with anything to make the swarm more survivable, and while you can do it twice, if it’s cleared a second time you spent 16 Mana for nothing.
That being said, against Druids and Hunters, who don’t have the best board clears, (Remember Plague is gone now) this card could have merit and you can just Savage Roar and win. Against any class with any decent clearing, however, this will just be a card you play twice and accomplish nothing with.
Compared to other Token cards used, this one is sorely lacking on the tempo side of things.
I think this is underrated, this demands an answer immediately, 10/10 stats for 8, and it gives you reload if this wave is cleared. Obviously it’s weak to aoe, but the deck you’re playing this in has other threats too that also demand aoe answers. The threat of of savage roar plus the fact that these are treats to the 5 mana card can make them 5/5s on the next turn. This is at least a 4/5
(Rating based on play it will see in the upcoming meta, similar to trump’s ratings)
1 Star
Too much mana means you can’t combo this with any strong effects the turn you play it. I don’t see a druid deck being viable with the loss of all its strong cards from year of the mammoth (and the garbage cards available from year of the raven). Even if a treant deck were viable, I don’t see it running this card.
1 Star, won’t see play.
This card seems underwhelming at first, but if you really look at it, it forces your opponent into a corner. You play it once, they clear it, you play it again, and they might not have an answer. 3.5/5
If you’re either tied or winning this card is great.
It forces your opponent to use two board clears and sets you up nicely for lethal.
I like this. I think treat druid is on the rise with this card. The only bad thing i see in the treat archetype is that some cards that are Obviously treats, Like the ancient defenders, Ancients of lore/war. Splintergraft, The sappling, ironwood golems. And the biggest fail of them all is the splitting fester roth, for an epic card it was going to bring the treats into life if it were a treant. And with the option to make your treants into 5/5 i don;t think there are that many board clears to clean twice board full of 5/5sand 4 times foards full of 2/2s and landscaping gives you 4/4 worth of stats on turn 3 and the 0 mana golems are preety niceAnd splitting fersterrots are verry good with savage roar. So you have a preety descent midrang edeck with good early game. I am not shure if the nightmare amalgam counts as treants too. Since the wording says ALL. but its not a silver hand recruit?.
In my opinion i think that nightmare amalgam with the ALL tag should benefit from all things not be made to jsut suffer from the tech cards. I think it sould count as treant and as a silver hand recruit. And not only that but every card that looks for a spessific type of other card should work on amalgam as well ( like treespeaker ).
Amalgam counts as all races but when they say treant it’s the name of a card not a race. Which brings up a thought I wonder if we will get a card that has to do with minions that DONT have a race.
8 mana set up lethal, then 8 mana set up lethal
It might need some set up, or some playing around if you’re against it, so I like it
Build a Board and Slow down your Opponent by having an “8 Mana 10/10 Minion” that can be used again.
Who cares if your opponent destroys it with AoE, just build another one.
If you can use the Un’Goro Pack, than you can use this card too, even for just a standard control Druid Deck.
Probably forgetting this isn’t a bad rng Target for dreampetal florist 1 Mana summon 5 2/2 the problem with using florist was you had to manage your hand alot and sometimes it could tag something that was really cheap anyway. Run it with the make 5/5 ancients and you actually have a nice token threat option.
Dreampetal Florist only hits minions with its discount.
Right my bad but that actually still leaves the combo with transforming into 5/5 ancients in 1 turn. And could actually be done on curve.
I guess, but Wispering Woods into Soul of the Forest is generally a better combo.
May be better but whispering is hand dependant and no telling what your hand would be like when draw it. But still this is only 1 card for token I’ll guess at there being 1 or 2 more.
true, but if you play this and it gets cleared, you get dead treants instantly for Mulchmunder with Ziliax or smth. So the value really depends on your situation. but iam with you. At least you need 2 AoE for Wispering+Soul, but you need 2 AoE for Forest’s Aid too. Iam kinda fifty fifty with both combos. Whisps can get silenced, vanished or smth. You only get value of the get killed, and killed again. so if you can play this 8 mana spell on curve, you might get a huge swing on 9 or 10 with something like Gloopsprayer and double Mulch, or Mulch+Ziliax. Druid needs some more token/Treant synergy and Token druid will be back i guess.
well firefly is gone so your early game is very very bad. You can use the biology project + impmaster and gloop’s gloop for ramp options. But in any case you can’t ramp 8 mana that way. With All of the druid classic cards nurfed you basicly have nothing that can help you survive your turn until turn 5 or 6 where you can rams effectively or use whispering woods soul of the forest. You can use your dead cards to power play some giants but you don;t have the card draw to guarantee them. With tar creeper and tortolan gone your only early tount is wardruid loathy. So your treant deck will not work without it. Just because it gives you a chance to survive the rearly game. Lets hope we get some good shifters that will make your early game survivable. With baku and gen gone we do lose the super aggresive decks out there. So it may work nicely.
Howdy howdy folks it’s ya main man here, back for another card reveal season how’s it going.
I give this one a fat twinspell/5
Also know as a 2/5 for being slow.
But really, who knows this early into the reveal season or the shifting meta.
Glad to be back with everyone on this wonderful website, let’s have ourselves a good rumble. Or well, league. Have a good Shadow!
Yeah boi, like your attitude. Let’s have a noice League of Legen…..oh sorry…..of Evil !
Great value and poor tempo make this card good vs. Control decks, but poor vs. Aggro and Combo decks. If value is mostly worthless like it was in the Year of the Raven (REALLY hope that’s not the case), then this is worthless. 2/5.
The Forest’s Aid’s rate of 10/10 for eight many not seem great, but it is probably only one mana off of what most would consider on rate for that many stats. The Twinspell aspect of the card probably is worth more than one mana in it of itself, but unless there is some worthwhile new Druid Treant support alongside this or in the next year, I doubt it’ll see play while the Wispering Woods + Soul of the Forest combo is still Standard legal.
Your opponent needs two AoEs to counter this “one” spell, or they’ll be punished heavily when you turn then into 5/5s or just slam down some Savage Roars.
But needless to say, expensive cards that don’t clear your opponents’ board or throw up taunts leave you very vulnerable and are usually forced out by the speed of the meta.
