The Fist of Ra-Den Additional Information
If there are no Legendary minions at a given mana cost (e.g. 0 mana), the card will not summon anything and won’t lose Durability. (Source)
I think the Earthquake/Scheme strategy of making your board clears actual tempo swings may look appealing, but weapon removal is such an easy thing to find these days that I’d rather bet it’s mostly going to generate multiple cheap-ish legendaries in one or two turns. May be now, might be next rotation, but I think there’s got to be something right now or in the works to make this read “4 mana summon 2-3 free legendaries next turn” more often than not. Got to say, I’m not a big fan of that perspective.
The only real threat though is the weapon thief because there is a minion that can re equip your broken weapon. Even with the current weapons used by shaman you can run the requips minion to get it back and bypass the overloads.
I rarely see anyone run the weapon breakers and have not seen anyone running the thief. so it is a viable idea.
How would this work with Everyfin is Awesome (wild) – would the legendary summoned be equal to the *printed* cost of the card (7) or the actual cost paid (Everyfin gets cheaper for each Murloc you control)?
Assuming it works the same way as Atiesh (wording is the same so it almost definitely will), the minion summoned will match the reduced cost of the spell, not the original cost.
It’s a great card for getting extra value especially if card you used was something with overload that extra body can be helpful since you won’t have as much Mana next turn. Toss in the card that requips your broken weapon and the only threat is if opponent steals it.
Only problem is that a lot of decks are running weapon removal. And the only decks that would use this would be control shaman and big shaman, of which neither are worth anything. But still, this card seems just so powerful it might create a new archetype on it’s own. Maybe I’m just a dreamer.
I played Control Galakrond Shaman from Rank 4 to Legend with an 80% win-rate:

Yes, but in terms of the deck itself, it’s not on anyone’s tier lists. It’s not even tier 4 right now. Even Galakrond Shaman itself is now just tier 3. Yes you probably have had success with your deck, but the stats just don’t support this.
I can’t find my deck in any stats except my own ones. Now I replaced Siamat with Fist and got into top 1000 Legend with a 77% win-rate. Fist seems good so far, except when you have too many weapons due to Galakrond / Shudderwock.
I love meme rogue, but I think this may be too meme and not enough rogue if you catch my drift.
I thought this was in rogue I retract my comment
I had a rough look at potential legendaries that can be summoned and the chances of summoning a ‘good’ legendary for 4, 5 and 6 mana. I define ‘good’ legendaries in this scenario as ones that have an active effect (not a battlecry), or have insane stats for their mana cost.
4 mana spells (e.g. hex) can potentially summon the following ‘good’ legendaries: Vargoth, Dragonbane, High Priest Amet, Houndmaster Shaw, Nozdormu the Timeless, The Glass Knight, Vessina
Out of the 17 current 4 mana legendaries I think 7 are ‘good’. 7/17 seems pretty good to me.
5 mana spells (e.g. dragon pack) can potentially summon the following ‘good’ legendaries: Darius Crowley, Leeroy, Waxadred, Zilliax.
Out of the 18 current 5 mana legendaries I think 4 are ‘good’. Obviously, 4/18 is not great so I’m guessing you don’t really want to play any 5 mana spell with this weapon.
6 mana spells (e.g. rain of toads) can potentially summon the following ‘good’ legendaries: Armagedillo, Cairne, Dr Morrigan?, Glinda Crowskin, Hogger, Illidan, The Beast, Zerek?.
Out of the 20 current 6 mana legendaries I think 8 are good with 2 (Dr Morrigan and Zerek) being dubious. 8/20 seems pretty good.
Note that I’m not counting the legendaries that have decent stats for their cost in which case the fractions will be much more favourable. Overall, I think this card is decent and will probably be included in control or highlander shaman – archetypes that hopefully will be much more viable in the future.
Thanks for the research.
No problem 🙂
do 10s for new spell and 7
Starting with 7 mana spells I think 6 out of the 23 seven mana legendaries are ‘good’: Antonidas, Baron Geddon, Blackhowl Gunspire, Goru the Mightree, Prophet Velen, Ahu’ma.
However, the chances of summoning a legendary with below average stats (I’ll let 7 mana 6/6 slide – so basically legendaries with stats below 6/6) is even higher 8 out of 23: Azalina, Boommaster Flark, Dinotamer Brann, Jan’alai, Lord Godfrey, Swapqueen Hagatha, Valdris Felgorge, Vereesa Windrunner.
These fractions don’t look desirable.
For the new 10 mana spell, I think 5 out of the 9 ten mana legendaries are ‘good’: Colossus of the Moon, Deathwing, Hakkar?, Kalecgos, Mecha’thun?. with Hakkar and Mecha’thun being dubious.
5/9 seems pretty good to me.
the main problem is, does the durability also reduced when casting, let’s say a “Mutate” card (0 mana cost), while there is no 0 cost legendary minion.
So most of the power of the majority of legendaries comes from Battlecries. It’s still nice to get an extra body, of course, but this will be worse than Atiesh for sure.
So, the shitty new ten mana spell is in fuction of this card? What appened if you use zap? I dont’ remember 0 cost legendary minion…
belongs to the museum
Medivh died for this
????
Medivh the guardian: 8 mana 7/7
Battlecry: Equip Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian.
Atiesh: 1/3 weapon
After you cast a spell, summon a random minion of that Cost. Lose 1 Durability.
