Just spam Flik Skyshiv and you’ll be fine.
5 Stars.
Not as good as you think. To people saying you can run Combo Cards, look at Rogue’s current decklist. In what way can you cheat out Malygos or other combo cards. There is no way to do that. The current lists of Rogue (Secret, Stealth, and Weapon) are all far too aggro for this minion. That leaves Galakrond Rogue, which this could see play in, but I don’t see why given the reduction by Galakrond itself is fine. I actually don’t think this card sees play in the current meta.
Will be nerfed first patch. For the sake of both standard and wild.
Everyone’s hyping this card up, but I think it’s a huge disappointment when I think about it. This is just a legendary shadowstep or at best murmuring elemental for Rogue. The only time where you want a separate battlecry is when you’re targeting specific minions with destroy/damage effects and otherwise this is just another version of Spirit of the Shark or Brann that only works with one minion.
Naah this unlocks way more combos then shadowstep and can be duplicated in to your deck. Shadowstep can’t do that.
The only thing this card does better than shadowstep is bounce 6/7 drops and give you a 3/2. If you use it on anything less than 5 mana you’re spending more than shadowstep just for a 3/2 and you lose the discount on anything 8 or 10 if you shadowstepped Tenwu. don’t get me wrong I’ll use it but it’s really only good for 6/7-drop battlecries as a slightly better shadowstep.
It’s like an extra copy of shadow-step, the 3/2 body is nice advantage – you can shadow-step it.
I think Shadow step is better in early game, the cost (1) effect is stronger on a big cost minions but not so important since you already have alot of mana in the late game so the discount is not that beneficial in terms of tempo. but provides more combo potential (but the discount is for the current turn)
So lets look on solid scenario:
Turn 5 play Jandice Barov + shadowstep.
Turn 6 you can play 2 X Jandice. (but you can do the same with shadow-step.)
Is this definitely targeted? If so this is awesome and is definitely going to break something at some point. Love it.
Jesus… I’m scared of Miracle Rogue. I just hate that gameplay. Think about how annoying Pen Flingers are right now in Libram Pally. Just play them, then Wisdom, then play again… you wind up watching the same fucking Pen Flinger get played 20 times.
Miracle Rogue is basically designed to be the same type of one-sided gameplay. They play 15 cards in a turn, then you play 1 or two. Loooooong games where you barely interact.
Also, I predict Edwin Vancleef is the No. 1 hated cared this expansion. Many games will be decided by an early ridiculous Vancleef… Blizzard just wants to world to truly loathe him before they HOF next rotation.
Why it costs 2 and not 3?
Hard to not see as almost an autoinclude in 90% of rogue decks
So what are some fun combos then?
Flik Skyshiv 6 mana, this 2 mana, shadowstep this, Flik Skyshiv 1 mana, this 0 mana, 1 mana Flik Skyshiv. = 10 mana kill three enemy minions permanently. (and with one more shadowstep you can keep this or play another Flik Skyshiv next turn)
Heistbaron Togwaggle, this + shadowstep = 10 mana, three Heistbaron Togwaggle effects.
Kronx Dragonhoof, this + shadowstep = 10 mana, three Kronx Dragonhoof effects.
Leeroy Jenkins, this + 2 shadowstep = 10 mana, 24 face damage. Or with some prep to cheapen Leeroy or this before, then you can get 30 face damage in one turn….
Tess Greymane, this + pre shadowstep + shadowstep = 10 mana, three Tess Greymane effects.
With some other cost reductions cards and/or coins you can play
Dragonqueen Alexstrasza two or three times in a turn.
C’Thun two or three times in a turn.
Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate
C’thun, the Shattered
Those are the most extreme effect targets I think…
Or you can just play Silas Darkmoon a few more times, and switch more minions if you want that.
Just lovely!
5/5
How could they do this to my youthful brewmaster? 🙁 0/5 stars for ruining my life
This will break a card of some sort one way or another.. I really hope we get a card that shuffles something powerful in the deck so this can double that effect.
Either way, this is a card we’ll see for a very long time. Even if it’s good right now, every expansion has the potential to create something op with it. 5 stars.
8 mana: Barista, Tenwu, Barista…. infinite very easy
This is like. Very good, isn’t it?
This card has crazy possibilities. While it doesn’t necessarily have broken targets right now in Standard – besides Memebaron Togwaggle and Kronx, I don’t really see what minion you would want to use that with -, in the two years that it will be in the meta we will surely one or two minions that are broken with this.
Regardless of the meta it’s in, I like the card, because it’s just good, unexpensive, and has lots of potential. Even without making the biggest play the word has seen with it, it’s undeniably a great card. I think it easily deserves 5 stars.
mmh, I can see a lot more cards worth to return to hand. It doesn’t have to be a broken one to fit the tempo rogue style. Think about Edwyn to get more stats, Evil Miscreant for more Lackeys or in some situations Blackjack Stunner to remove two big threads. This card is as much flexible as Shadowstep but in most cases better than it (and sometimes also worse).
Definitely, but ideally you want to play it on a minion that makes it BETTER than Shadowstep. The problem with all the candidates you’re mentioned is that they’re low cost, so Shadowstep is essentially better than Tenwu here. This is why I brought up bigger targets like Togwaggle and Kronx – this is where Tenwu will really shine, and we need more of these “big” battlecries for this to be truly worth it. It’s still a good card of course but it becomes excellent in these situations.
Flik likes to have a word with you. 😉
Right. That’s a great example!
whyyyyyyy rogue?
5/5
Now this is more of a legendary effect 😀
