If some idiot has the audacity to use this to trade when they could of gone face I will report them to blizzard knowing their account will be terminated on account of being braindead and not following the sacred Hunter code of smorc.

Um yeah that’s really good. In a dragon hunter it basically is just a free 3 damage every turn for a one time cost of 3 mana. Way easier to use than eagle horn too.

Is it? You need to control a dragon, not hold it. So you need to play a dragon first (and this) and it needs to stay alive.

Nonetheless a good card. Even if flavour is a little off.

Flavour is not off actually. In Warcraft 3, Rexxar had a skill that tossed a hammer which stunned enemies, the ability was called Storm Bolt. Also this has 2 durability, that means you can play this, attack and play a dragon at 4 mana to not to lose durability.

Yeah. And somebody told us about Hammer wielding dwarves.

Nonetheless, for the majority of HS players, storm + hammer = Shaman. 😉

This should’I’ve been for shaman, makes more sense lore wise. Also Dragon hunter could pave worked but they gave us only 2 class dragons and one of them is too expensive for hunter. Hunter has shown time and time again that control hunter doesn’t work because it can’t survive into the late game, dragons too beefy for hunter, however due to the non-dragon themed cards I think face hunter might be making a comeback, or at least some kind of aggro hunter

Ok, let’s immediately say that the flavour is completely off. Why is a Storm hammer for hunters and not for shamans? It doesn’ t make any sense. After that, we might all agree that this card is amazing. It’s like eaglehorn bow, but much easier to trigger. Imagine if eaglehorn bow gained 1 durability everytime you played a dragon. It’s not as good as that (since in that case you could also gain multiple instances of durability in one turn, while this is limited to 1), but it’s really close.
While I think taht the card itself would be bonkers ina deck like Dragon paladin, I still don’t belive enough in dragon hunter to say that it will see play. Dragons are just too heavy right now, and hunter has just one midrange dragon to make the deck work. Right now, Hunter doesn’t have enough good dragons to make a deck work, but there are still some cards yet to be revealed, so we’ll have to wait.

This card is so cool! Definitely the card I’m most excited about for this set

Why is a “STORMHAMMER” for Hunter??? Shaman always gets Storm and Hammer. In WoW, hunters cant even use Hammers and the dragonflight of the Shaman class are the STORM drakes!!!

Stormhammers are wielded by Wildhammer clan members, who are most recognized as hunters. Thats why in this expansion hunter got cards like Clear the Way, Diving Gryphon, Dragonbane, Dwarven Sharpshooter and this card.

I know right? I even love hearthstone’s pack fillers cos they are cool lore wise and even provide world building, this one makes no sense

So this makes no sense for Hunter weapon it says storm that usually implies lightning a domain of shamans. It’s a hammer also attributed to shamans as well as paladins and some cases warrior. This is not a weapon hunters really need but I can probably understand it’s an encouragement to try and get dragon Hunter to be a thing. Also in classes like warrior and pally this would easily be spammed.

However an argument for this to not be shaman is because a fully invoked galakrond would break the weapon same for warrior. However quest warrior would have loved a weapon like this. Which still leaves pally one of the decks with more dragon support and could actually heal itself.

Overall this will be an ideal target for the weapon stealer and most decks will probably run 1 or 2 anti weapon cards.

No, this card is a reference to Wildhammer Clan; a clan of dwarves recognized for being gryphon riders: hunters whose main weapon are stormhammers. Thats why in this expansion hunter got cards like Clear the Way, Diving Gryphon, Dragonbane, Dwarven Sharpshooter and this card.

The only reference I knew for hammers like this is gryphon rider from Warcraft 3. Never played alliance side in WoW and hadn’t read books.

Still in Hunter this could possibly encourage using Emeriss it is a dragon and it’s more likely to spend most the time in hand waiting for viable time to use due to cost. Which is just fine for this card and any other that needed a dragon in hand.

But the dragon must be on your board, not in your hand, to avoid losing durability.

True forgot that bit when typed it since kept thinking of the ones requiring dragon in hand.

Finally a good weapon for Sham.. Palad.. Hunter? Ok.

This is kinda scary, this card alone could allow hunter to run a deck with lots of cheap dragons that it can play and smash the hero power for 5 damage per turn and some tempo while playing cheap dragons along with it every turn. Seems pretty decent to me!

This card might be the reason decks have to run some weapon destruction (and now stealing lul). Very interesting.

Might as well just call it Mjolnir because this is essentially Thor’s hammer.

I think this might have originally been a Shaman or Paladin weapon but they ended up making it for hunter instead.

We lorewise do you now who the legendary hunter dragon is? Keeper Thorim’s personal mount, oddly we didn’t get him as a Legendary hunter card, but that is the source of Thorim/Thor talk.

If you can buff this, (toxicologist+greenskin) It can get pretty scary, especially if it has 5 attack, that goes face every turn, cause most dragons are pretty sticky, hunter’s explorer has poisonous (Your opponent losses a minion trading it, and generates another one), and say, fairy dragon has elusive (and you can curve it). But even without weapon buff it’s still scary, and quite solid. And even if you don’t control a dragon, you can still attack with it, and play one the next turn, without lossing value.

I’m pretty sure this is supposed to be a shaman card. Flavor-wise, it seems like it, and in one of Trump’s videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuExhjQdktY&list=PLvEIxIeBRKSju-lwuh-9hM2CoEvrneTmq&index=9 8:38), he hinted at this being for shaman.

Maybe they’ve initially designed it as a Shaman card (honestly, it would make more sense flavor-wise), but it’s definitely Hunter one right now.

He was saying it was Shaman as of a week ago, but yeah, it seems like Hunter now. I’m not sure if he was wrong, or if Blizzard was making really last minute changes to the set. Either way, seems weird.

Flavorwise, it is kinda weird to see hunter getting a hammer as a weapon. Those were usually reserved for paladin and shaman. The name is also suggesting that it should be wielded by shamans since they were always related to storms and lightning.
Powerwise, it is strong for any dragon based decks, even highlander.

Hunters nowadays (other than warriors) are known for their variety of long-lasting weapons, such as Eaglehorn Bow, but replacing the idea of having an extra swing, to being able to play to keep using this card as long as you control a dragon. So literally EVERY time you play at least 1 dragon, it counts for you to just keep swinging for 3 damage. This will be Awesome for both Highlander, Dragon, and even the new Excitement of Secret Dragon Hunter, where you get 2 Stormhammers and 2 Eaglehorn bows, and it’s kinda like having ancient blades, expect instead of the immune, your weapon is “immune” to its durability. And now, Dragon Hunter could be a thing, and now just wishful thinking just because we got a few new dragons here and there.

With that said, I am going to give it 4 stars, just because although you can keep swinging to the face for free and it’s all nice damages and everything, there are still going to be times where you have to take 8 damage to get rid of a big threat, such as Mountain Giant for example; and especially if you are playing against a control deck. A Price has to pay for such power on the weapon, and just like Eaglehorn, The Cost is still getting rid of minions more or less likely.

Yeah, I’m an idiot. To be fair, Blizzard are idiots too. I mean why the fuck would they name a hunter weapon Stormhammer? It even has lightning bolts in the arts. That’s the shamanist name/art combo I’ve ever seen.

so apparently, every class is getting one..
but that’s not why I’m here..
How in the hell the score is getting 5.1?!

So I somehow clicked the 6 stars, and they said the score is “out of bound”.
    hmmm

      December 2, 2019 at 9:12 AM

      EDIT. typo 6th star.
weird. It’s right there like a minute ago. and now it’s gone.
and the score goes back to normal. I think I’m out now.

How did you manage to click on 6 stars when there are only 5? 😀

      • H0lysatan
        December 2, 2019 at 5:28 PM

I don’t know. For some reason, I thought that the score can reach beyond 5 is because there’s another hidden star. So, without much thinking, I just clicked the side of 5th stars, and voila, a short message shown “out of bound”.

I didn’t think much of it anyway. I thought it’s just weird. LOL. ^^
