Seems a lot like just a slow version of dazzle dazzler. Thought it was cast as drawn for a bit as well but not it’s kind bad. Would’ve been decent with discover.

I mean it’s a start of the game effect and not a battlecry. If you draw the spore in the early game then congratulation, you won the early game. No matter what 5 drop you get, if you get it on the turn 1 or to 2 you get a lot of tempo, and if you ger lucky you can draw several at once and just randomly win on like turn 3-4. I think it’s a bit unhealthy how it can just randomly win you the game on its own.

With discover it would have been a good value card for control but with random i think it’s kinda just meh at best

Am I missing something here? 5 mana for a random 5 drop is terrible, and if you get a bad one then you know all your future spores are worthless. How is anyone rating this higher than 1 star?

Yes, you are missing that the next card summons two random 5 drops (the first + a new 5 drop) for 5 mana, and the next card summons three 5 drops (the first two + a new 5 drop) for 5 mana, and so on.

Ooooh… Okay, that makes more sense, thank you.

Still, this doesn’t seem good. The effect only becomes really strong the third time you use it, and there are better late-game options.

I don’t know, but the text on the card and in the article revealing the card indicate that subsequent spores will summon the first 5 drops.
Which makes it RNG-dependent, whether it will be good or bad.
