Designed to compliment a slower Caverns Below Quest Rogue possibly?

It’s already 5/5 so isn’t affected by the Crystal Core and it’s a really good card to bounce with Shadowstep or pair up with Shadowcaster. You wouldn’t really care much about the damage on the first drop, that would just be to reduce its cost and contribute towards the quest – it’s the reduced cost versions that would be the kickers.

Too expensive :/ sad to see them release so many clunky rogue cards.

Depending on wether or not a combo or miracle style deck is good/efficient – this card could be an amazing combo finisher or just a useless flop

You probably just play one in elemental rouge and use it as a finisher if the game goes long. They already use shadow step.

You could do something dirty like prep, eviscerate, coin, hallucination, this guy, shadow step it, play it again. It could happen in magical Christmas land.

Kobold/Thalnos, Prep, Evis, Prep, Evis, Evis (from Shadow Reflection), Spectral Pillager. 6×4=24 damage to face. Pretty hefty amount of cards, but it’s pretty good. You’re going to probably want preps for other stuff though, and Thalnos is probably used up by T10, but if you can pull it off, 24 face damage in one turn.

If they’re going to make a combo deck out of it, they will most likely use Shadowcaster beforehand. More than once, preferably. Maybe Thaurissan in wild.

Can you check your maths, I have 5+5+5+6 = 21 damage

Considering, even in standard, it’s already hypothetically possible to drop 34 face damage in a turn with Malygos* … this doesn’t really seem that great a finisher.

Not that great for minion removal either since Vilespine Slayers exist.

      * never gonna pull it off: Malygos > Sinister Strike > Counterfeit Coin > Sinister Strike > Preparation > Eviscerate > Preparation > Eviscerate

Heck, with razor petals and coins you can have even more insanity.

With emperor in wild, you can theoretically combo malygos with two eviscerates and 6 more razor petals for 54 damage.

I actually did something similar in wild once. I built a really neat maly-rogue that creates a bunch of razor petals for an OTK. (or enough chip damage to win early) I was up against quest/reno priest, and when I realized he was going to complete the quest before I could burn him down, I started building up for the largest combo I had done. With two evis and almost all my razor petals I successfully did the 40 damage required to kill him right after he healed to full. It was a beautiful moment.

^ That’s why Malygos Miracle Rogue is the *best* Miracle Rogue! 😀

You’d probably just rather play Edwin. In some world, this might make a decent final push for lethal, but you’d have to pull off a pretty sick combo on 4 mana so you’d have enough left to play this thing. Maybe in wild with ET, but not in standard.

    Great effect, terrible cost.

I think this card would be run at least once in most of rogue decks.

Need to do approx 3 damage to be reliably good. It has the advantage of flexibility over Blackwing corruptor, but it’s statline is worse for the cost. Can easily do more, but would i sacrifice my hand that could later power a QA or Edwin?
