WILD CUBE WARLOCK!!!!!!!
If anyone is having a bad day, just scroll down and laugh at how wrong everyone is.
Thanks, it is my next craft and looking at the comments made my day
Getting Harrison Joned after this i guess means concede time.?
Really good if of course you have the luxury of doing nothing at turn 5.(assuming also opponent doesnt have weapon removal)
Alarm-o-bot for in your hand
It’s???? Not???? Random???? Have we Lost what the meaning of Hearthstone is in this day and age????
It turns out it was actually random. I wish it wasn’t random tho so it could be playable in other decks rather than Cubelock
This card is amazing.. a lot of demons have negative drawbacks due to battle cry this gets the on board without taking the health a lot ofthe minions deal when played… I’m glad they are trying to create new arch type decks iit’s sorely needed in HS..
4/10
It just seems too slow for the deck type that it would want to be included in. It’s lack of an immediate effect is further slowed by it’s summon waiting until the start of the next turn. It’s too random for Handlock, and costs too much mana for Zoo, so where would it go? Additionally, you can only run a single copy and using the card that brings back destroyed weapons is way too inefficient of a strategy.
Looks pretty poor. While a lot of Demons have negative Deathrattles and getting them out without those is nice, not being able to pick when, which, and if a minion gets played it hurtful. Sometimes you don’t want to play that demon because you know a board wipe is coming, or a doomsayer is on the board or something. And a five mana investment to initially do nothing is pretty steep when the payoff is so poor. And some demons have actually good battlecries like Jaraxxus and Abyssal Enforcer. You definitely don’t want to stop those battlecries from going off.
Horrible in Arena, even if you are able to draft a few demons to go with it.
Standard: 1/5
Arena: 1/5
U surely are a loony!!
the power of this card depends completely on how much weapon counter cards will be in the meta and how slow the meta will be. I think at the start of the expansion, it will struggle to work, but when people stop using as much weapon removal, it will get used a bit more.
still, I doubt warlocks can really draw enough to both spend their mana and still hold a demon for the skull to summon.
2/5
Text: when you get this card from a pack disenchant for 400 dust.
doesn’t have to be, it still is a fun card.
Will get destroyed INSTANTLY.
If the legendary weapons even make it to the meta
Man, I want to like this card, but giving your opponent a free shot is a major drawback. Now that everyone has a leg. Weapon, plus medihv, plus normal class weapons, its hard to imagine weapon removal won’t be run. I’ll run Harrison Jones. If Harrison Jones hits this, that’s such a swing. But again, so is pulling a massive demon turn 5-6. You can wait until a later turn so you don’t waste your turn, but that defeats the purpose. Weapon removal is rarer in general but it’s still a thing and majorly risky. If your opponent isn’t running weapon removal, this dominates after 2-3 turns but that’s a big if.
Also you could always play kobold to get your weapon back.
Won’t see play probably because if weapons become a thing so will weapon removal. If it was at the end of the turn would have been rly good.
would’ve been too good…
Not really. The opponent has the opportunity to kill the demon, and it has no battlecry. Also, there are little big demons, and even those are played for their effects, not stats.
rly, no battlecry is a blessing for a pretty good amount of demons
Unless it gets destroyed before it can trigger once, this looks like some significant value for big demon lock, which doesn’t become a hindrance on long enough games like the mage weapon. Really hoping they release some weapon invulnerability effect this expansion, even for 1-2 turns duration. I really don’t want to believe the development team is banking on the goodwill of the opponent not running every weapon removal available once these air… Otherwise half the legionaries are dust-value only.
still, it says “pay 5 mana: skip a turn” even weapon invulnerability ( approximately 2-4 mana i assume) would mean that you can hardcast whatever demon you want to cheat out for the same cost. I just don’t see it :/
Yep, so warlock didn’t get a decent legendary this expansion. Everyone will be playing ooze which makes this the worst weapon shown so far, as you have to hope that your opponent doesn’t have weapon removal to even get some value, and bane of doom has risks on its own with garbage demons like howlfiend and street trickster existing. The only weapons shown so far that i can say might be remotely playable are Aluneth and dragon soul.
the rune spear still sucks more, but I too believe warlock didn’t get good legendaries. besides the legendaries however, the other cards in warlock seem pretty good
Warlock did get arguably _the_ best Death Knight though (which I still haven’t got) and the non-legendary cards in K&C look pretty solid – so I’m not too upset by the lack of great Warlock Legendaries in this expansion.
I guess you could potentially cheat out a Voidlord early.
This plus Kabal Trafficker can be extremely good in a control deck. You get the card at the end of turn and then you get it for free at the beginning. And there’s no need to play it on curve if you are losing on board, let’s be real, you can’t be that greedy.
I have a question though, can anybody tell me for sure what would trigger first and with what order: draw the card from the beggining of the turn, doomsayer effect or this weapon’s effect? Because if doomsayer triggers first it can be amazing as you get a new board with a demon for free. So you could play this two cards on turn 7 and not be bothered if they removed your weapon.
will just get oozed
Kabal Trafficker i risky. You could end up with Unlicensed Apothecaries
Ooh, nvm the original comment was being dumb and that’s why ya said it, continue on. It’s the reason that getting 2 or 3 random demons to you’re hand is bad in current day renolock (not meta but still) the “3 mana 5/5” screws you over
It triggers at the start of your turn, giving your opponent time to ooze. When they do ooze, it means you’ve just spent a turn diong nothing, and you loose. But it could still work, if:
1) oozes dont become meta for some reason (e.g. they get nerfed) – probably wont happen
2) this card will be so unpopular that your opponent wont think youre playing it and play his ooze on turn 2 for tempo – might happen sometimes, but most people are careful with their oozes, silences ect.
3) you pull their ooze with dirty rat – that would be pretty cool, and with lots of op combo pieces coming up, control warlock will probably run 2 copies of dirty rat
I think its overall pretty horrible in an ooze meta since you just pay 5 mana for doing nothing, but it might work in some cases. In arena, people wont have much oozes, and everything really depends on how soon you draft this. If you get it early, you pick a bunch of big demons and its op.
Constructed: 2/5
Arena: 4/5
Sure this card has problems, but let us all take a moment to reflect on how much better this is than the shaman weapon.
I prefer the shaman weapon
Attack + lightning storm each turn is neat
Also nobody will expect you to play it
i agree, Runespear has more use.
Don’t jump the Shaman Weapon hate bandwagon because:
1) You can at least get some value out of the weapon the turn you play it because you can attack and cast a spell
2) Shaman already runs a bunch of weapons and your opponent would probably play Ooze much earlier than turn 8
Whereas this weapon could get Oozed before getting any value and Warlock doesn’t play many weapons (Besides Medivh which will rotate next year) this would mean you spent 5 mana doing nothing (Rin already does that for you so theres no need for this weapon)
Good for control and this might make shadowflame viable again
A message to all the people who think this card is good and gonna play it in their demonlock or control lock deck, I am going to enjoy to kill you with my tempo deck when you waste your turn 5 to summon a demon next turn for free xD
Unless you have weapon removal, this card(with a little bit of RNG) is insane against tempo. What can you do against a turn 5/6 Voidlord into Voidlord With like 30 hp with taunt? Or just two doomgards over two turns in combination with 6/7 mana. Best thing is that the lords are very strong against vilespine, still leaving the 3 1/3 bodys wich buy more time till nether/next Lord/Guldan. Could pull a liberian as wee tho, wich sucks.
If you’re not dead by that turn yet sure but I think people will tech against weapons pretty hard at least I will in the beginning so this card becomes a 5 mana waste a card slot and your turn 5
Librarian isn’t a demon, so doesn’t pull.
But howlfiend and street trickster are.
Yup. That’s definitely a problem if you run trafficker.
You was so wrong
This is probably pretty bad because think of it like Embrace Darkness.
Here is what likely happens.
1. You play the card, essentially doing nothing if you are on curve.
2. Your opponent gets a whole turn to react or set up for a reaction.
3. You pull a demon, which unless it is Doomguard, does nothing.
In other words, too slow and weapon removal exists as long as this is good.
If you think I’m wrong, tell me why! I would love nothing more than for this weapon to be good.
If its taunt daemon or one wich gives 1 damage AOE and u can spend 6 mana in that turn so for example siphon soul on back of it or even freaking shadowflame
But that’s on the random chance that you get one of those demons. There are some pretty horrible demons that you can pull, the most notorious being howlfiend.
You would have to be running those or get them off of Kabul Trafficker to get those.
wait until you play Bloodreaver Gul’dan your opponent would probably suspect that you have no weapons and play out their Ooze to compete for board presence then play Skull of the Man’ari and hopefully pull a Doomguard or Voidlord (If you haven’t played those already)
The game is over after Gul’dan,
This weapon is slow, no real value, random, do nothing on the turn you play it, nothing after that turn unless it’s doomguard or a taunt, make you loos the tempo game if the opponent have a ooz. I can’t see any situation where this weapon is good.
Wow you was so wrong
Well handlock uses it nicely, with some abbysals and dreadlords. Nice with sun fury protector backing it up, and it also works with shadow flame. It is 5 mana, but a drake or giant can fill in the missing stats perfectly. Or Doomsayers/defile/hellfire/nether one turn before sets up for this card pretty well. It’s not a 5/5, but it can still snowball in handlock.
Dreadlord or doomguard are literally the only things that I would want this weapon to pull. If I’m playing handlock the absolute last thing I want is for my abyssal’s 3 damage aoe to go to waste. That can be such valuable removal/game winning. Handlock does not make great use of the card.
Joins the list of legendary weapons that will give cause to have weapon removal in decks.
Potential weapon loss before any effect makes this the weakest one, but the mana cost balance is fair, if not a little high.
2/5 stars for now.
Garbage. At least warlock weapon isn’t playable so they might not be on a jade druid level of bullsh*t.
5 mana do nothing, get oozed tempo swing you lose bad card 0/5
This card is better than krul, the unshackled to an extent. The earliest you can get it out is turn 4 with the coin. The problem with it is weapon removal. Since it activates at the start of your turn it has a turn to be oozed before any summons. But, since it does start at the beginning of your turn you can utilize charge on 5 mana 5/7
Interesting idea, seems way too slow to see constructed play.
Worst case scenario is you play this on 5 your opponent, oozes it and play a 3 or 4 drop (depending on if they went first) leaving you with a turn you passed and your opponent developed their board
Mal’ganis in wild is gonna be fun with this though :]
Lul, that s not the worts case scenario. think about Harrison Jones.. he has a better body than a 3-4 drop, destroys your weapon and draws 3 cards.. much worse xD
Oh god i forgot about Harrison, haven’t seen him in a while. yikes.
Seems slow
Slow?? How?
This is priest’s barnes or Shadow Essence. It can put Mal’ganis or Voidlorn on turn 5.
It loses a card, but this is the only class that can laugh that off.
Turn 6. I’ve not played many warlocks who keep their coin that long.
Handlocks often will to get giant early or buff twilight Drake.
Well at least turn 4/5
Because this is the only weapon where the effect doesn’t happen on the turn you’ve played it, meaning an ooze it into 5 mana do nothing
another decent warlock card. the age of warlock has begun
Will fully rely on how the meta shapes up. If every deck carries multiple weapon removals this will be bad. But if not, this could be awesome. So far the new weapons have not been that good so this could maybe work.
I’m guessing it pulls it from your hand? Because if it didn’t, you could have a free Mal’ganis every turn… I mean, it could go either way, but it seems way too broken if it doesn’t pull the demon from your hand.
Ok, reviewing Krul who has a similar card text, it WOULD pull it from your hand; thank goodness. It’s still pretty decent; an investment of 5 mana for limitless amounts of mana return through expensive Demons such as Mal’ganis, Abyssal Enforcer, etc.
It literally says from your hand on the card text
Nice, really hope warlock will be tier 1, even if I not play this class.
He deserves it.
You are right, im main Warlick and since Un’Goro tus class went for tier 1 to shit i really hope that this exapansion along KotFT change this
Good in control Lock. But not op
A better Krul. Nice.
Not really Krul has a battlecry so the impact is immediate but this card could get Oozed or harrison’d after you play it without getting any value because its effect triggers at the start of your turn
