This card has won or turned around so many games for me. It can have limited impact but if they can’t just remove it the lifesteal from your opponent attacking to kill it is Reno. It’s sneaky with even 10 damage. Love it in priest and rogue.

Insane card for Druid. I don’t see many other classes which would gladly play this into their deck, but the effect is so insane in a Ramp Druid deck that it doesn’t really matter. Druid can also reliably draw this thanks to that 2 mana card which lets you draw your most expensive card in the deck. Watch out for Ramp Nature Druid as soon as the expansion launches: this bad boy can be played with Brann when you have more than 13 mana.

    Omg Dad <3

So far the two decks we're seeing support for that might be able to actually get Infused cards off are:
    1.) Wildseed Hunter
    2.) Skeleton Mage

Wildseed Hunter I'm really not sure WANTS to play a lifesteal Cthun, but maybe it does & I'm stupid and it just becomes a really nice catchup/finisher. It's pretty likely that you'll have like a taunt minion up by turn 10+ when you play this, so I actually think this deck is the most likely one to play Daddy Denathrius.

Skeleton Mage is a meme and will be bad but MY GOD will I try to make it work. This card seems like an expensive experiment in it, but maybe it's actually okay considering Mage is going to have a pretty stupid amount of defensive options in the Frost spell school. Slowly but surely progressing your Kel'thuzad & your Dad to finish with MIGHT be worth experimenting with. At worst case, it has synergy in a bad but fun deck.

This card is dependent on decks that summon a lot of boards & obviously you need to draw this card, but there are a few classes that could do both (Druid can tutor Dad with Coldtooth Mine & can summon lots of little minions). Maybe a Token Druid uses this as like a YOLO endgame play.

    Idk it's a 2/5 but he's my Dad so I love him.

Ramp Druid with “Scale of Onixya”, Onyxia himself, Prestor Druid (or some kind of Zoo deck), rogues and mages for healing, even it infuses just five times or so.

mask of c´thun dealt 10 damage for 7 mana and was really good, this is a 10 mana body and heals with his battlecry even when you have only 7 to 10 shots its pretty decent.

Prestor is likely not going to want it because this replaces Prestor as your highest cost card for Coldtooth Mine, meaning that deck becomes incredibly less consistent.

Ramp Druid yes could use this in combination with Scale of Onyxia; good eye, I missed that one.

People are overrating this. Lifesteal or not, it remains a 10 mana minion, and it’s got much better competition in that mana slot. _Why_ would you run this when you have Onyxia and Neptulon that are arguably better and consistent in all situations? A 5 damage across the board is not a lot, and the average deck could expect to pump that up to say, 10 damage max. One good aspect of this is that it can hit face, but other than that he’s just too clunky. Lifesteal on a 10/10 body is good but it’s unlikely to ever be able to attack, and it doesn’t have Taunt. Even if you get good area damage with this, note that this effect is by nature highly inconsistent, making the cards worse than Onyxia in almost all aspects. It’s really just, eh. Perhaps if it cost less than 10. 2/5

Lol at the people saying this to be worth needs some precondition (killing minions before it’s strong) or that this is a control card. This card is insane in any big deck, specially in Wild, autoinclude I’d say, and it also has meme potential. Also no decent control deck would ever run this.

This is looking scary good in druid. They can use Coldtooth mine for tutoring and have cards like Scale of onyxia, Onyxia herself and Flipper friends to feed him. On top of it, they can use Guff to get to 13 mana easily for Brann OTK shenanigans.

Here’s the thing. This card has a huge identity crisis tbh. It wants to be in a deck with at least a GOOD amount of minions to get the infuse off. Those are inherently faster decks which probably don’t want to run a conditional “maybe pyroblast” that costs 10 mana and burns a literal hole in their hand.

The Lifesteal and board clear potential along with being 10 mana means, great control card. The issue is this card has to do like idk….12+ damage to be worthwhile (literally no one is playing Sneed’s which does 10 for 8 albeit with no lifesteal). What Control deck is killing 7+ of their OWN minions to Infuse this?

I don’t see this card seeing play in ANY deck which is a shame considering it is the “cover card” of the set. No wonder he died.

Might see play in mage, they’re printing all those cards that summon little shitters. Druid also has scales and flipper friends which would synergize extremely well with this card

Looks like it could work well with the new mage legendary too

I like this as a finisher for a lot, either used defensively or offensively. The lifesteal makes it where I don’t think you even feel particularly bad if you top deck it on turn 10 as a way to just grab a lot of value.

It’s just not very reliable because it only pumps up the damage in your hand. If you draw it too late, it can’t finish off your opponent.

I feel like people are underrating the Lifesteal. In a world where Renathal has made clear the value of more health even at the cost of less card value, the potential value swing of even a bare Denathrius can be really helpful for some decks. Yes, if you draw this Turn 10 and drop it it’ll feel bad (though I still don’t think absurdly so because of its potential to clear a minion and leave a reasonable body), but if you get it a couple turns early and feed it two to three Infuse triggers I think this will be a really nice swing play. Do I think this is going to slot into a lot of decks? No, not at all. But I will be surprised if this doesn’t see consistent play in at least some Tier 2 and maybe even a Tier 1 deck or two for the next year.

    Coldtooth mine with swarm druid?

If you pull him out quickly and use a bunch of summons. It can get rather powerful or at least a good removal and healing card.

Thing is, he needs to be in your hand to get stronger. I don’t know exactly when he becomes quite strong enough to be playable, but I feel it may just take a bit too much.

Also, demon tag missing? is Denathrius not a demon?

    either way, 3.5/5

Typically demon requires excessive Fel exposure, and with the exception of non-demonic Demons like Voidwalkers just about every demon is tied, either directly or indirectly, to the Burning Legion. As such, while the Nathrezim generally fit as Demons due to their time in the Burning Legion and drinking up all that Fel the robo-god daddy of them doesn’t really fit since he never had that Fel exposure.

sir denathrius is the literal god of the nathrezim as in they are made in his image

The Nathrezim are only demons because of their involvement in the Burning Legion. If they had stayed in the Shadowlands full-time, as Denathrius did, they would not be demons.
