I done some calculating and there is 20% chance that you will have on turn 5 doomguard with silverwear golem in hand if you run 2x doomguard and 2x silverwear golem, so its pretty damn good 🙂
Warlock zoo , the current version, tend to empty his hand playng all the card he can, then he start drawing more cards. I can see a spot where you have a soull fire and this demon,you tap a mana, play both then life tap, Same can happen whit succubus and doomguard, who can remove leeroy. In the worst scenario, when you are forced to play a discard whitout this card o jaraxus fist, you can recover whit life tap. Doomguard is in list already, soulfire is already seen his spot, maybe you can add the golem and the succubus and improve the deck.
I think you would darkshire librarian over succubus.
They should let you choose which card you discard for deck like this to work, this may sound too broken to “choose”, but we know in the past there were much more broken cards that didnt get nerfed *cough* Naxx *cough* GvG *cough*
I have a combo in my mind, make a full discard warlock deck and play prince malchezaar on it, not because he is op, but because he will generate cards that will be discarted without harm the strategy

Fist of Jaraxus- deal 4 damage to random enemy character when discarded
Tiny Knight of Evil- 3/2 2 cost minion, gain +1/+1 whenever a card is discarded.
Malchezzar’s imp- Draw a card whenever you discard a card.
and now this- Summon when discarded.
Great, but the benefits are really, really lack-luster because if you are playing discard, you run the risk of discarding the wrong card.
Say this-
Turn two, your hand is Succubus (2 mana 4/3 BATTLECRY: discard a random card) this card, and Doomguard.
Your opponent has a minion out and you can’t afford to not play it, lest risk being behind.
And as we know, if you pass a turn doing nothing, unless you have a board clear soon, you won’t survive.
So you play Succubus- problem?
There are a lot of 3/2 minions, and if you lose Doomguard, you just lost a ton of Tempo for turn 5.
Even if you have Malchezaar’s imp out beforehand, great… but if you don’t have an amazing turn around, having a 4/3 and 3/3, over having a 4/3 and losing Doomguard (Or any other card you want for that matter) odd’s you make this viable? Pretty slim
Alternative- Be able to choose what’s discarded. To me that’s the only way discardlock will ever be a thing, there is too much RNG in this deck type where you’re either really lucky, but then have to deal with being behind in hand from discard, or being ahead in fatigue if you had Malchezaar’s imp out.
Also think of it this way- if you want to discard some cards you’d need like 10 cards you want discarded, what are the odds you discard that over your entire hand?
Youre absolutely right. If hearthstone wants to make discardlock a thing, they need to implement stronger cards (that are actually worth playing) that make use of the mechanic and possibly allow the player to CHOSE which card gets discarded. Emphasis on the latter. Otherwise, even something crucial to warlock decks like having a large hand will be detrimental to the player and will discourage the mechanic as the risk of discarding a good card (or at least not the golem) is higher. They could make a large end-game minion that maybe does something like: “battlecry: gain +2/+2 for every card you discarded this game” or “deathrattle: add all the cards you discarded this game to your hand”. But even then, drawing these kinds of cards early and then ending up discarding them mid-game due to bad rng would just be like… gg & concede 🙁 not to mention the current discard mechanic is basically unplayable in Arena…
they’re going to need a few more of these “summon a discarded minion” mechanics for this thing to take off.
Really excited to try and make discardlock viable. I really wanted to see some good Renolock cards in this expansion for warlock, but I guess as long as they don’t give zoo any more insane cards I’m happy. It’s nice to see that Blizzard is trying to add some diversity to the warlock class at least.
I totally agree. It’s time to try new warlock decks. At least for some time to see if it works.
This will be better with a 3 3/4 drop.

It seems like Blizzard wants us to go the Discard Warlock?… This is pretty good if you discard it, but a 3 mana 3-3 isn’t that good under normal circumstances…

They are trying to make the discard mechanic viable.
There was something like that in MtG……..It will take more than this and the imp to make it work, but that’s a nice start….
Give HS 10 more years and we will play sth like manaless dredge (in wild) 😉
Its called madness in mtg, madness is indeed a very strong deck and also manage to be runner up like 10 years ago during the block, but that would require too much mechanics, aswell you gonna need more time to to play, getting a 30 win a day gonna be pain in the ass lol, i like how hs as it since i dont really hv time to play mtg anymore
Remember guys the deck is discolock not discardlock. Glad we could get that straight before it destroys the meta.
