The secret is... There is no plan!Secret Plan Card Review
On the one hand, putting this into the deck means that you have to pay 3 mana for your Secret. On the other hand, you get much more flexibility. Depending on the matchup, board state etc. you can just pick the best Secret possible. For example, people have been putting Rat Trap into some builds a while ago and it was very mediocre. It was amazing in some matchups, but in others it nearly never (or really NEVER) triggered. To be honest, I would gladly put this instead of Rat Trap in that deck – I could still pick Rat Trap in the matchups where it matters, and I could have an extra Explosive Trap against Aggro etc.
If you play a Hunter deck with Secrets (like Spell Hunter) + Lesser Emerald Spellstone package, you will probably want to take out the more situational Secrets and replace them with this. Paying 1 extra so you can make a choice each game is worth it.
Heck, you might even want to play it in Prince Keleseth version of Recruit Hunter just to have access to Secrets. It might fix some of the deck’s weaknesses, like lack of AoE.
Overall, I like this card, it’s really solid.
Card rating: 8/10
Is there a problem with having Secret plan and Prince Keleseth in the same deck ?
Its pretty good in Odd Hunter you can include Spellstone now POGGERS
3 mana secret. Not sure if this is gonna be good. Include another Explosive Trap / Rat Trap / Snake Trap / Venomstrike Trap to your deck and there you are, more flexibility.
2/5 in wild combined with Lock and Load can be much better, a 3.5-4/5
1 mana hunter secret = gud
Don’t you mean three mana hunter secret. It just says discover not put it into play
This card seems very flexible and therefore strong.
Meh. Pay 1 more for a secret, but get nothing on board? Arcane Keysmith gets a 2/2 body on board for the 1 mana. This gets nothing for that 1 mana, so it’s a 2/2 body weaker (which is worth more than 1 mana, but not 2 mana).
Would you run Arcane Keysmith if it was a 4-cost spell that read “Discover a secret. Put it into the Battlefield”? I feel like this rating is way too high.
I would consider this similar to Arcane Keysmith; both make the secret cost one more, and both are discover effects. Keysmith sees play partly because Big Mage doesn’t want to low roll Dragon’s Fury, and party because random secrets are difficult to play around. This being a discover allows you to tailor it as best you can to the situation or deck you’re facing, and flexibility is always good. Right now some Spell Hunters run Rat Trap, but what if that Rat Trap had the potential to be 2 other traps depending on the matchup? This is also a pretty good card to get off of Rhok’delar.
So I think it has potential.
This plus subject 9 = secret hunter with draw power woooooooooo
The flexibility is obviously great. Question is, if that’s worth overpaying 1 mana.
I don’t think it’s an autoinclude, but if the meta get aggro enough then you can add these in to try and always have explosive traps. Other than that it’s probably not worth
3.5/5
Auto include in almost any hunter deck.
Lovely, a new spell for spell hunter, fun :,)
