For Mages out there, espically Tempo, Rigged is going to be both very interesting and a pretty powerful card to play and to generate now, thanks to Ring Toss.

Hell, we might even see Arcane Flakmage again for a lot of the mages, and maybe even Apexis Smuggler if Secret Mage is that good.

Note that: If you had Ice Barrier and you took damage, it still counts as Damage. So if you think that you have 6 Mana to ‘force’ yourself to draw 3 cards, you are mistaken. Just use a soft taunt, or an actual taunt and some freeze cards for you to draw 3.

The card is so powerful that Mages for once can finally consider sacrificing AI, and Highlander Mages can rise up once more because they can have 1 of every type of Draw Card.

I used to try out Highlander Tempo Mage, and it went okay, but a lot of the times I would tend to run out of gas because I’ve used all of my generations. Maybe its because I’m still a nub, and I need more practice.

Overall, this is 4 Stars, almost a 5. The only way I’m going to give it 5 Stars, is if Mages go Bat Crazy knowing damn well how to use Rigged. I know Highlander Mages can do this, but maybe it might not be enough, though it deferentially has the potential to become Tier 1, now.

This is so much better than people realize.

Not triggering it is WAY too punishing. Cloud Prince, Ethereal Arcanist, And now Occult Conjurer all punish for controlled secrets. So it never actually does nothing, not to mention the resources wasted doing face damage instead of other stuff your opponent may want to do to prevent it triggering.

There are also lots of (including new) ways to cheat out mage secrets.

    Secret mage has potential already.

Nice for a mage deck with minions, I guess, or freeze mage.

One of those cards that looks really good on paper but will be mediocre when it’s actually played. The downside is too negative it’s way worse than dirty tricks for one more draw and one more mana. Not to mention how popular Pen Flinger is. Worse than Arcane Intellect and worse than Cram Session. The only way this sees play is if they print strong cards that gain effects while controlling a secret like ethereal arcanist.

You would be right if wild wasnt a thing. This is incredibly good when you play it for free via battlecries and you are very unlikely to be damaged as you most likely have board advantage and oponent cant afford to divert resources to check for this. A good example of mediocre on standard and op in wild.

Once again (as with the Occult Conjurer) you need to cut another card for this – and I don’t see which one. Moreover, Secret Mage doesn’t need situational card draw, it needs tempo. And Wild is an aggro slaughterhouse in which you’d always get damaged by something.

Btw you’ll have to ask yourself if 3 mana situational draw 3 is actually better than 3 mana guaranteed draw 2… I’m not so sure ’bout that.

So, all in all, this card is overrated imho. Not bad, but not that good either.

Yikes… This is really damn good. If you stay in control of the board it might be hard for your opponent to deal damage to you at least one turn. Also ice barrier protects your life total so this goes really well with that. If you discover this and ice barrier from Ring toss it guarantees the trigger unless opponent pings you or something. It also works well with freeze effects.

I am hoping for some kind of control mage deck that doesn’t rely on RNG as I think we’re all pretty bored of all that at this point. Hopefully Blizzars delivers. Hopefully aggro meta won’t be too strong…

By the way, Ice Barrier won’t work with it, you still take damage even if it’s just Armor and not your Health. Taking damage =/= losing health 🙂

Oof you’re right, nevermind then. I wish it worked that way..

This is looking reaaaallyyy good. Useless against Aggro, but can be deceptively strong in slower matchups, I’d say. Your opponent can’t necessarily afford to attack or ping you every turn forever to prevent this from triggering. It’s not flawless, but it’s pretty good and mana efficient. I give it 4/5, minimum 3/5 and I believe it has good chances to see play. Though more consistent Arcane Intellect likely cries in a corner right now.

I forgot to mention that with Frost Nova, Mage can pretty much get an easy trigger for this against
half of the classes (Warlock, Paladin, Priest, Shaman, Warrior) since they don’t have a constant ping option.

Pen flinger says hi well that and “Hey Looser!”

          Ah right, that exists xD
But it’s mainly run in Libram Paladin. You can still use it outside of these decks but it hasn’t seen widespread use either, so I think that remains a rather specific threat to this Secret that you won’t meet on a typical match
