Replicating Menace Card Review

Would be absolutely busted at 3 mana, it’s only… meh at 4. The most obvious point of comparison is Eggnapper, which was actually good enough to see some Constructed play, but it was never broken or anything. And that’s 3 mana 3/1 that summons 2x 1/1. For one more mana, you get another 1/1 in a Deathrattle… which is absolutely underwhelming. You also get a Mech tag, which is alright. But the main selling point of this card is Magnetic mechanic. 3/1 can be pinged off easily, but adding +3/+1 to an already existing minion can make it trade up nicely, or just survive if it has more health. For example, sticking it to Nightmare Amalgam (the most obvious 3-drop in a Mech deck), it will be a 6/5 minion with Deathrattle: Summon 3x 1/1. Pretty good, but that’s about the best case scenario for this card, and you spend 7 mana and 2 cards in total for that.

And without Magnetic… Spending your entire Turn 4 dropping a 3/1 minion feels really, really bad. It’s slow, easy to take down, the 1/1’s don’t trade too well if you can’t buff them immediately etc.

To be honest, at 4 mana cost, the only way I can see it in Constructed is if some Token-oriented Mech deck pops out. The reason why Eggnapper has seen play in the first place was because Token Druid could utilize those 1/1’s quite nicely thanks to the cards such as Mark of the Lotus or Savage Roar. So we’d need a Mech deck also having a way to utilize tokens. Will it be a thing? I don’t think so, but we’ll see.

Card rating: 4/10

This card gives magnetic deck stickness. You use on some mech, then when it dies you still have target for you magnetic mech, i like it.

Its magnetic + neutral + deathrattle + mech synergy.

Will 100% find a home; hunter looks good with new 2 cost dr guy

Eggnapper saw play in early Ungoro in the Token Druid deck, since its stickiness and AOE buffs available to druid (plus Beast tags) made it good. KFT however brought Defile, which annihilates the card. Eggnapper is only viable in Arena now (it’s actually decent there). This costs 1 more mana and leaves behind an extra token, and can also Magnetize. I don’t think that justifies this costing an extra mana, and on itself it’s still super vulnerable to pings and Defiles. So I don’t think this will see play. 1/5 stars

This card is very strong, probably too much in an aggro-mech deck, if you coin this on the 2 mana 1/5 mech you get a 4/6 with charge with 3 1/1s when it dies.

Good card IMO. Will definitely see play.

This card is being so underrated. Imagine if it said ‘summon three 1/1 and give a minion 3/1’. That seems broken as hell. Of course this is only if u can get it to stick to another mech. On its on it’s average. But in the right mech deck this is so good.

I would like to address the most important issue with this card: why is it wearing a bikini?

The obvious comparison is Eggnapper – this gets another 1/1, the mech tribe and magnetic for +1 mana. Eggnapper is playeable in token decks, but I do not think token mech decks are going to be a thing, so I’ll go ahead and say pass on this one.

I dont get the comments. This card is quite good it allow you to make good trade with a mech you have on board and still have 3 1/1. Quite expensive for the stats but this card will certainly see plays.

Technically it’s 6/4 stats for 4 and 4 minions for 1 card if you don’t magnetise. In warrior you get automatic rush giving 6 damage for 4 mana (i.e. a fireball).

Most of the new mechs seem to favour health over attack and this can offset that.

Not sure why everyone is so down on this.

Also synergy with board buffs, of course.

This seems bad. Doesn’t give sustain. I guess it’s kinda sticky for further mechs to magnetize to, but would be better in my opinion if it costed 1 less and lost magnetize, but then it would be just eggnapper.
It just costs too much and whatever you add it to doesn’t survive very long, which I guess makes it kind of a blessing of kings?
    Just seems so…. meh.

One of the bad Mechs that need to exist so you don’t always get only good mechs from discover cards etc.

keep in mind in wild glinda plus mechwarper and this gives warlock a ten mana infinitely large board with deathrattles that summon dudes (they wont be all that important but it still leaves you with something after a T neather).

so this is basically egg thief, but for one more mana it gives an extra 1-1, is a mech and so are the bots, and has magnetic. Since egg thief, or egg napper i can’t remember, didn’t see much play though i tried it and it’s decent, i don’t have high hopes for this card.

Replicating Menace is fairly sticky, but the stats it would give is poor for the cost. If this does see play, it will be as the weakest Magnetic minion available to whatever deck is playing it.

I didn’t want to leave any comment because there are still more than 100 card to be revealed from the expansion, but other than Shaman and Druid overpowered I still don’t see anything competitive.
4 mana for 3/1 magnetic is OK if the effect is good.
But 3 1/1… I don’t know, I might be wrong, but I don’t see much strength in this card.

Bare in mind it’s a 4 drop that’s not the easiest thing to remove, and zilliax costs 5.

Zilliax is op compared to this card.
Zilliax is a card that requires an answer because it can change the outcome of the match As soon as you play it.
This card doesn’t. And 3 1/1 to be summoned by another card that triggers deathrattles? I wouldn’t trigger it actually.

Poor stats at base, poor stats on magnetic. Magnetic minions you want to go tall with, not give them weak deathrattles that summon weak stats that will only trigger when your huge minion dies. Poor synergy with paladin legendary spell since it summons 3 little dudes on top of this,, and it isn’t something you want to really use fireworks tech on it. Only upside is that it’s a swipe in a warrior mech deck.
