Not considering other heropower enhancers, this is basically “4 mana 3/5 deal 1 damage to all enemies”
Dat isn’t bad. 4 stars
card with a strong effect but hero power decks never been tier 1
what happens if you change hero power? the quest? reno? FROST LICH?
upgraded could be good too
Right doesn’t say damage, could be interesting.
Reno’s Hero Power will likely not work. Frost Lich will probably however. The Quest will probably do nothing either. I think it specifically needs to at least be a Hero Power that targets a minion, and probably that it damages it too, but I’m not so sure about the second part
Definitely helps the legendary’s case, but if there isnt 1 health minions in the meta this is barely better than just a 4 mana 3/5
Yeah, that’s exactly the issue I see with this card.
Plus it’ll only contribute efficiently to the 10 mana mage guy if your opponent has a wide board of minions so that you can deal 1 damage to each of them. If your opponent doesn’t, though, this might just add like 2-3 hero power damage, which I’d say is pretty lackluster.
Too bad they’re not bringing back Jan’alai the Firehawk. Wild could get wild.
I’m going to combine Both Mordresh Fire Eye and Reckless Apprentice as a Guaranteed Combo Core Deck in my opinion, and just say that This feels familiar to triggering Jan’Alai’s Battlecry, from Rastakan’s Rumble. However, instead of an 8/8, you are Pyroblasting ALL Enemies. It’s not so much that Mages can’t really pull this off, becuase they still just Modresh alone and think that it’s automatically a bad card, but with a combo card like Reckless, your Progress to getting your Ultimate Control Card from Modresh just SKyrocket.
I think Exodia Mage has Returned since Mages have experimented enough with C’thun as well, that they will probably use both C’THun and Modresh Fire Eye.
5 Stars I think this will be used and Abused for OTK Mage Decks that just want to trigger the Battlecry as quickly as possible, or Control Decks. And Depending on how truly stupid Modresh Fire eye can be, don’t be surprised if Mages start using Miracle Decks. or try to go for a lot of Card draw in general.
This alone already guarantee a 3-5 damage in one hero power. Let alone 2 copies. Fire Eye is a must craft.
Not really, it’s pretty much an arcane blast attached to a 3/5 body for 4 mana that also happens to go face. And that arcane blast effect is basically wasted if your opponent doesn’t have a wide board, or has chunky enough minions to survive that tiny 1 damage ping.
This card might have its moments, and also handily contributes to the 10 mana finisher guy, but other than that its effect isn’t THAT powerful. But it’ll find a place in a good amount of mage decks, so Imma have to give it a 4/5.
It’s situational, I get it. But support for Mage Hero Power is in Core set right now. So, it could just be a deal 2 to all enemies with just 6 or 8 mana. It’s plenty enough damage to support Fire Eye.
