Zoolock. I warned you.
Alley Cat into this… its alright.
I can see Aggro or zoo decks running it.
Especially if the new aggro shaman still overloads on turn 2.
It could be:
Shielded minibot (great)
Cheaper Druid of the Flame (damage) (good)
Cheaper Druid of the Flame (health) (great)
Worse Whirling Zap-o-matic (bad)
Worse Faerie Dragon (bad)
Better Haunted Creeper (great)
Frostwolf Grunt (bad)
Cheaper weaker Emperor Cobra (good)
Worse druid of the saber (stealth) (bad)
Cheaper 3/3 (good)
Considering it uses discover mechanics, you’d have to be very unlucky to not get at least something good, and being able to choose to have a taunt or poison could mean the difference between winning or losing in the late game, even if you usually wouldn’t run those cards. The biggest problem is that if you don’t have two minions this card is terrible, making it difficult to play on turn 2. The beast tag is also very nice for hunter or wild druid.
Nice analysis – pretty much says everything that needs to be said about this card
The only thing to add would be that there are quite a few cards which provide you those two minions which you need on turn 1 like living roots, alley cat, lost in the jungle, pirate + patches, etc
Even in Wild with Living Roots, I’m not convinced about this in Beast Druid… it’s not terrible but you’ve got Enchanted Raven for 1 mana or Druid of the Sabre for 2 – and that’s a deck that already struggles to when it comes to deciding what to cut.
Hunter and Zoo and aggro decks though… yup 🙂
Overall, this card is mediocre. Making it not conditional would have made it a better cards without being op imo.
Wtf are you saying. If this card had no condition it would have been crazy OP. It can (depending on the adaptation available) be a beast shielded mini bot or a 2/2 haunted creeper and these 2 cards are extremly strong. Even a 3/3 with the beast tag for 2mana is great.
Technically, you could trigger this fellow on turn 2 very easy.
– Any Class playing Pirates w/Patches
– Paladin w/Lost in the Jungle
– Hunter w/Alley Cat
– Druid (Wild) w/Living Roots
– Mage w/Mirror Image
…and that’s without the coin. (Did I miss anybody?) That’s a decent card that is playable early on and flexible in the late game without being ridiculous. I like the fact that you can put this guy in your deck and know you can adjust to the opponent class being played on the fly, unlike Ooze (etc.) where you play it when weapons are popular in the meta, etc.
double wisp?
Yes, anything that costs 0 is also a candidate, although harder to pull off (as you now need three cards to trigger rather than two).
Could be a shielded minibot? Seems good. But i guess it’s hard to play it on turn 2.
This is a nice card for arena
The Zoo Hunter that’s incoming this would be great. Un’goro is looking very promising to us Hunter and Paladin players
Plus you can run this in Hunter and land this with 2-5 and then Houndmaster. Then it’s a 4-7. Damn….
It is not strong even when it’s adapt. 2/5, 5/2, 3/3, 2/2 divine shield, 2/2 wind fury an so on.
2 mana 2/5 is bad? 2 mana 2/2 divine shield (basically shielded minibot with a different tribe) is bad? Summon 2 1/1s is bad? Loll what are you smoking? Even 2 mana ice rager (with a beast tag) is decent.
Hmmm.. Is this card might be good in zoolock?
