How long can this go on?
So my interpretation of this card text is that this continuously summons, so long as its max health is greater than 1 at the time of its death. To me, this means that you can buff the health/attack on the card, which would generate even more resummons.
IF my interpretation is correct, then this card can be a total pain in the ass for the enemy, and it’s super underrated. Yes, it’s slow, and yes, you can basically only play it in the mid-to-late game if you’re not too far behind, but if the card text means what I think it means, this card can single-handedly carry you from the mid-to-late game to a win.
The enemy would have to deal at least 45 damage to this minion alone just to finally clear the damn thing, and they’d have to do it over at least 9 separate attacks. It’s not quite the same as Winged Guardian, currently one of the hardest cards to clear in the game, because it doesn’t have taunt and can’t be targeted, but there’s still a lot of pressure coming from this card, so the opponent is usually forced to do something about it.
This isn’t one of those instant swing-turn cards, but it can definitely be the beginning of the end for the enemy just through unrelenting pressure. Sure, a silence almost completely counters it, but those are kind of rare.
Does it keep any buffs?
This is just Gorehowl and Gruul, but as 1 Minion.
Players used Gorehowl becuase It was a Weapon.
Players did not use Gruul, and I have no idea why. Maybe it was just too costy.
I’d say that although i would use a MInion like this, I don’t think others would, Unless you Need a Backup Minion. Though it can’t Truly Die unless it’s silenced, This Minion can often be too slow., Escpially against others like Priest, or Druid.
Maybe if Pain or Control Warrior would pick this up, but that’s about it. 2 Stars for now, but 4 Stars if it works.
Depending on the situation this card might as well be a soft taunt outside of certain classes would require 2 cards to get it completely off the board. I would guess this would be a rather nice card for a taunt warrior giving a chunky minion to drop behind taunts that would force removals. For the most part even if the class had a card that could do it the opponent likely only has 2 cards in their deck that could get this off the board.
I have a feeling polymorph and silence effects will be used quite a bit when this set goes live…
This would be super good combined with cards like Rampage and Bloodsworn Mercenary. Kind of demands a silence.
Seems very bad …but Team 5 pushes some of these strange designs recently. Evolving into this will make players mad as hell.
Well at least it is a good target for devolve, transform and silence. But if I manage to trigger it’s deathrattle without killing it, then I will have a 9/9 and 8/8 so that is also something,.. But yeah noting remarkable.
And then a 7/7 and then a 6/6 and then a 5/5 and then a 4/4 and then a 3/3 and then a 2/2 and then a 1/1.
Also, kinda ridiculous with Nzoth lol…
Wait, does this summon a 9-9 then an 8-8 then a 7-7 and so on?
It’s a 9 drop without taunt or battlecry or rush… but it’s closing control games on it’s own if your opponent doesnt have silence/transform/sap
Very sticky but I strongly suspect Warrior will have better things to do.
Also consider that two of the lategame AoEs (Plague of Death and Amazing Reno) will work around the deathrattle.
