Realistically, I think Hunter probably just want trim of this, becuase they don’t want to be completely filled with 1 mana minions, even if they are a 1 mana 5/5, Hunter want to usually end the game before turn 10. I think 3 stars is fine.
Really, really, reeaaallly interesting card. It’s hard to say for this one. I think I’ll have to go with my gut and call this a 1.5/5.
At a base level with no minions on board, this is just a 6 mana summon 7/7 worth of stats, except that they’re 1/1s so they’re far worse at trading. Total garbage, and not even that great for tempo.
However, adding 1 mana 5/5’s to your hand? Now we’re talking – throwing a couple 5/5s on board is definitely no joke. However, as you add those 1 mana 5/5s to your hand you’re giving up tempo, since you’re summoning less rats. So either ways you do it, this is a 6 mana tempo loss.
Another issue is that in order to get those 1 mana 5/5s into your hand, you’ll need to already have some minions on board to squeeze out the rats that don’t fit. But how will you do it? After you play a token board from last turn your opponent will most likely clear it. Most of the time most of your rats will probably fit on board, meaning you won’t get a lot of the 1 mana 5/5s in hand.
Ooh! Quest hunter support! Maybe I’ll get to dust off my Wild hunter collection…
(might be an accident or something) but they also released a legendary card which synergies w this card pretty well.

Easy enough to gain benefit. Cast it while your board full, trade minions, summons the one from your hand, … , profit.

Actually, they didn’t! If you assume that the brown rat is the Rat Token representative, there are clearly only three Rat Tokens in the artwork of Rats of Extraordinary Size. The art simply depicts the card having being played when there was already a full board and there are four 5/5 Rat Tokens in the player’s hand.
“But there’s clearly seven gray rats on the field!” you’d say, and, uh…
Somebody missed the joke.
6 is a bit expensive, but the 5 mana legendary from RR saw play so who knows. Sure, the Lynx had rush, but these are 5/5s and can get rush with a broomstick or something so I wouldn’t entirely count it out.
If anything this is arguably one of the best hits off Lock and Load if that deck actually takes off at some point.
