it is NOT BAD only for the new warlock dragon
I mean, we barely ever get to see Whirlwind nowadays, so not really seeing much potential here?
For as simple as it is, it’s also the most awkward card to use it. At best is to get rid of token cards, but the problem is that nowadays, you have a lot of token cards (Especially for treants) that have 2 Health, so… I actually don’t know how to use this effectively anymore. Maybe to use it with Spell Damage, just to clear the board and try to act like another Hellfire for you, then sure, but there are 2 problems with this:
1.) the best you can do is combo Rain of FIre with Thalnos or with Kobold Geomancer, So you’re looking at a 3 mana combo that deals 2 damage to every minion.
or
2.) We wait long enough for a low-costed +2 Spell Damage minion. And no Spellserker doesn’t count for Warlock.
So in future, Rain of Fire could actually be useful, but as it stands right now, at best it’s a 3-star card.
BUT SIRE OUR TROOPS
Pew-pew!
Warl-wind. Warrior only plays his version of that card when it’s a potent activator. I can’t think of anything that fits the bill in Warlock the way Sleep with the Fishes did (naw, I’m not even sure that legendary dragon is good enough, unless the other Dragon Warlock cards are OP).
Warlock has a few cards in standard triggered by taking hero dmg still. Summoning bats summoning minion of certain level allowing the minion to gain lifesteal if summoned in same turn.
Eet’s a leetle baby Hellfire!
For little baby minions *gets burned by it* gah curse you tiny hellfire.
So basically a card to use with pain lock and works as a decent activator for the lifesteal minion and a few other cards.
I feel like this is the kind of card that is made to activate self harm effects. This would’ve been cool the days the ametyst was in standard.
But why…?
