Ok now that all the cards are out I can make a better review of this card.
My old review still covers this card pretty well, but there is 1 new Secret, which is a pretty bad one, so this card loses a little bit a value there.
Still a nice card, but unless the 5 secret cap is removed won’t break the game.

When you play this even priest go face and you die…

    Good news everyone !

Can I hope this card will have the same voice acting as in WoW?

The biggest problem with this that i can see is how hard it is to combo it with 2 secrets. You either need your cloaked huntress to survive (haha) or wait till turn 7, by which time pirate warrior has killed you
Also, I’m pretty sure that you can still only have 5 secrets max at a time, so this will only (Only) get you 2 secrets of value. (ok fine that’s not that bad)

A major flaw I see with this and is the fact that hunger has no secrets that “save” a killed minion and the only secret that counters spells doesn’t actually stop them. This guy will be rather vulnerable to removal spells.

Freezing trap can stop opponents from trading into it with minions, and that is probably the most likely trap to put in your deck.

Seems like a good card and only 4 mana!! But the leak of good minions in the early game is the problem with hunter. Let’s take for example alley cat really strong card very aggressive but it won’t do it again pirate warrior with n’zoth first mate

What I think a lot of people aren’t taking into account is the sheer versatility of Hunter Secrets. Sure, they’re not powerful, but the good ones — Freezing Trap, Cat Trick, and maaaaybe Explosive — are relatively easy to play around. But this card will singlehandedly make you have to play around Secrets that normally don’t see play. A Hunter has two Secrets. You want to test for the ones you’re used to going for in order. Freezing and Explosive. So you attack a minion first, probably with your chumpiest Battlecry, hoping for Freeze. Instead you trigger Snake Trap, and now you have a board state you’re not prepared for.

I don’t play a ton of Hunter, but I’m excited to see this card. Not to play it, but to play against it. It’ll give me some interesting board puzzles to work out, because it’ll give me Secrets that normally never see play to plan around.

I mostly just like the idea of high-rolling with this card. Stick a cloaked huntress to the board on 3, play this on 4 and spam secrets. If you get at least 2 secrets off then you have 4 secrets in play, which require some serious headaches to play around

With the hunter hero power slowing down hunter a little bit it might even make hunter a decent value-centered class!

I’m actually excited for this card.
However, before saying how ‘good’ or ‘bad’ this can be and how ‘good’ or ‘bad’ Hunter Secrets are… consider that this expansion will probably also release 1 or 2 new Hunter Secrets by itself which makes it harder to determine the true value of this card right now.

This could be quite strong as it’s likely to give your Eaglehorn Bow at least +1 durability; so that’s an extra 3 “free” damage (barring weapon removal).

    On the coin you could:
Turn 2: coin > Eaglehorn Bow
    Turn 3: Cloaked Huntress
Turn 4: Prof. Putricide > secret dump

… and if you *do* manage to curve into him on turn 4 from a cloaked hunter and drop a Freezing Trap he might not be that easy to remove either, without dropping a spell on his head… and _that_ could trigger Cat Trick (and +1 dur. on the bow).

I suspect Acidic Swamp and Gluttonous Oozes are going to be tech cards of choice vs Hunter once this hits.

I keep seeing control, control, control? This can be played in all hunter decks that run secrets. It’s a 5/4 priority Target, so it’s worth playing on T4 in the same situations as Fandral for Druid, because your opponent knows if they leave him for T5 then they’re screwed, and that’s only if Huntress didn’t come out T3 and survive. If you play with secrets, he becomes less tempo but high value now because you’re basically getting a huge advantage with the free secrets, which means your opponent has to check them all potentially which fits in with control game. Unlike Mysterious though, they won’t know what secrets you just pulled and testing becomes a PITA.

I don’t think this card is so OP as everybody’s saying. To proc it’s effect you need at least 6 mana and 1 secret and, needless to say, on 6 mana the Hunter has Savannah Highmane.
Also, I really don’t understand why a lot of people compare this one to the infamous Mysterious Challenger. That card wasn’t a legendary and on turn 6 could have played 5 secrets alone, that was sick. This card, on the other hand, to be considered similar to the Mysterious Challanger needs 7 mana, Cloaked Huntress and a couple of secrets in your hand. That’s why I think the power level isn’t comparable.
    Good card, I like it.

Well, the t3 Cloaked Huntress into t4 Putricide is a pretty beastly curve

    July 25, 2017 at 9:53 PM

I’m just so disappointed by what these legendary cards could’ve been vs what they’ve turned out to be. I’ve spent years theorizing about potion and mutation related effects Putricide could’ve had, but he turned out to be a mini-Mysterious Challenger.

    • Whiplash
      July 26, 2017 at 6:38 AM

      Yes!
Every turn Putricide should have poisoned a random minion slot on the board for the rest of the game, with a 10% chance to turn the opposing hero into an Abomination!
      THAT would be Putricide!

    July 25, 2017 at 9:22 PM

I don’t understand why everybody is so hyped about this card, it’s not like the best thing ever. Hunter secrets are not particularly strong, the only really good ones are Freezing Trap and Cat Trick. You’re looking at a turn 6 with a subpar body that the secrets’ effects have to make up for (and it’s not a beast). Secrets are generally bad during the later stages of the game and better early – this guy forces you to not play your card to get more questionable value later.

    Overall, we’ll see, but… eh, 3-4 stars.

      July 26, 2017 at 2:11 AM

I agree it’s not a standalone OP card. Maybe it helps pushing that secret themed hunter across the bar of playability. In that case it’s not the key element of a deck but rather another solid brick. Either that or trash. Tough to evaluate.

      July 26, 2017 at 2:00 PM

I am hyped because I am a hunter main and it is the first hunter legendary in so long that hasn’t made me think “Wow this is actually garbage.”It is also the first secret synergy card for hunter we have seen since cloaked huntress so it will hopefully help start a new kind of hunter deck (One that isn’t just about beasts). Sure it won’t jump start a deck yet but it certainly will help, we just have to wait and see if they release any more secret related cards for hunter in this set. If they don’t I kind of feel like this card won’t see much play if any at all but if there is then the deck could potentially be good (or at least very fun to play).

This card is definitely one of the best cards revealed so far. This combined with several secrets, Cloaked Huntress, Explosive Shot, and Deathstalker Rexxar, I can definitely see Control Hunter becoming a thing.

This is, without a doubt, the best card of the set so far. It’s certainly up there with the two Warrior cards revealed so far.

Does “put into the battlefield” necessarily mean it becomes the Putricide player’s secret? Can minions on Hearthstone’s battlefield now bear secrets?

      • Jaych
        July 25, 2017 at 8:09 PM

…Are you kidding me? Secrets, by design, are put around your hero portrait and only disappear once activated. Do you not remember cards like Mad Scientist or Mysterious Challenger?

Wow this is amazing! Tbh I expect it will have to revieve a nerf at some point because it has full stats for a 4 drop and you get a free hunter secret (and all hubter secrets are very strong) whenever you play a secret…

    I want this card.

  27. Th0massn
    July 25, 2017 at 6:23 PM

Pretty great card you could compare this to the including rate of Tomb Pillager you don’t even have to be playing a secret hunter version for this to be good equip that bow and play those secrets!

8/10 Could be very good provided hunter doesn’t stay rather meek in the meta like it is now.

If u play a secret while this minion on board, it will triggers another random secret effect… Am I right?

    • User27

No. It creates anothee active secret that triggers when it’s conditions are met.

        July 25, 2017 at 7:21 PM

Wouldn’t the text say play another hunter secret instead of “put”?

        • Jaych
          July 25, 2017 at 7:33 PM

No, “playing” is only from the hand. “Summoning” is for minions that you don’t play out of your hand. “Casting” is for spells that aren’t played from your hand. As such, “putting” is for Secrets that you don’t play from your hand. And by the way, technically speaking, if it WAS “play a random Hunter Secret”, then it would literally play all possible Hunter Secrets due to loopholes in the card text. So no. It shouldn’t be “playing”.

        • Skyler High
          July 25, 2017 at 7:54 PM

It works like mad scientist. “Put” from mad scientist puts a secret on your hero’s forehead
