    People seem to be slightly over reacting about this. First of all:
    – while Warlock has not much of a problem with card advantage, this still counts as losing hand advantage for 2 Mana (not suitable for Handlock like builds, without considering Zoo and/or other possible aggressive Warlock builds);
    – Warlock is losing all of its good Control tools, all at once, which means that, at least upon release, this might struggle to find play (in standard);
    – even then, this is a “2 Mana CAN do nothing”, as you may just draw what you returned or not draw into the outcome you needed;

    That’s not saying that the thing looks bad; it does have some interesting shuffle applications and synergies:
    – the new legendary comes to mind, which gives a “possible” Rush board (although everything else dies) for 10 mana;
    – Elekk will apply a Dead Man’s Hand-like effect to this, shuffling extra copies of your hand whilst providing you with a new one; so as long as you have 2 Elekks and 2 copies of this, Plot Twist Warlock will be the new Dead Man’s Hand (albeit a worse and more inconsistant version of it, which never managed to shine in the first place).

    Cool, but not mad OP/Broken/Busted. 3/5

      ellek and this also makes raffam viable. The Golden monkey comes into a class that has no filler card draw cards in his deck and the moment rafaam hits the board you are deeper into fatigue. This card makes it so that your raffam can be used in a control matchup. And while the legendary cards are not as powerfull as they used to be. And in standart the chances for you to get Dr. Morrigan and Hireeks are a bit higher and there are tons of other bad cards you may not want. Some are preety good. And shuffling 9 legendary cards into your deck is much more different than dead mans hand.
      It is also something control warrior can do. Or more likely Gen warrior can do if control decks were not dead in wild format.

      Problem of handlock is those time where the hand cards you want turn out to be towards the bottom of your deck yeas this loses one card but by the time you’d play it the Mana cost won’t mean much and you likely have enough cards anyway.

    This is a card for a diverse meta that allows Warlock to play more one-of-tech choices. Someone here said it’s a day 1 meta card, he might be right.

    Besides that, might be tested in Wild Renolock because, well, there are more specific cards that you’d like to have at certain times (or want to shuffle away, vice versa).

    Cool, fun card. Kinda reminds me of Renounce Darkness, but less cool and a little more functional.

    First things first: this spell only makes sense with large hand sizes, so only control and combo warlock should even consider this. For Control Warlock, I think this is actually decent: it can help you find AoE tools against aggro decks early on, and against other control decks, it can help you win the fatigue battle when combined with Augmented Elekk.

    The combo with Betrug is… not that strong. At best, it’s basically a board clear, where you summon a ton of guys , kill your opponents’ guys, then your summoned guys die. It’s kind of like playing Lord Godfrey, only it costs more cards, more mana, and is less reliable. It has potential if you summon a bunch of guys with powerful deathrattles, but I don’t think it’s worth it to build your entire deck around this combo.

    Still, the use case for Control Warlock makes me think this card could see competitive play. 3/5

    This card single-handedly will make Warlock relevant post-rotation. This is a day 1 strong card.

      How?

      Warlock is already the most consistent class due to having Life Tap, so digging for answers is hardly an issue for the class as is.

      Also, why would you play this over two more answers for the aggressive match-up? This does not guarantee you’ll draw an answer when you really need one.

        Firstly, it has excellent synergy with Augmented Elekk to enable a new type of Control Warlock that can fatigue warriors.

        It also has acceptable synergy with Betrug and Dorian, though there’s not a lot of support for the rest fo the package yet. If you wanna be sneaky, you can pair it up with Solarium.

        Most importantly, though, the effect is simply good. It will be the backbone of control until it gets rotated out of standard. Reshuffling the hand has been a desirable effect for almost every card game. I’d gladly pay two mana to do that.

        As for your last question, Warlock has plenty of answers for aggressive decks already. I think Warlock is having a harder time finding two more slots for good cards rather that two more aggressive techs post-rotation.

          I think people confuse “Control” with “Combo” or “Value”;

          there is a reason why it’s called “Control”; because it is meant to control something; that’d be, controlling the board;

          now, before rotation, Control Warlock was a thing due to the great means at its disposal of shutting down aggressive plays/boards and of sustaining itself through “reliable” heals; Hellfire, Defile, Bloodreaver Gul’dan, Skull of the Manari with Voidlord, Good Taunts, Amethyst Spellstone, those were great control tools for the earlier game;
          for lategame, Twisting Nether, Godfrey and just “curved out Voidlord” were more answers;

          with the rotation, all of that early game board controlling (except Hellfire), is leaving; Shriek with the discard synergy is the only early game AoE that the Warlock has left (for now); I am not sure where other “aggressive fending” tools are listed but I can’t seem to find them;

          now, if Warlock were getting some more “self-sustaining” and “board-controlling” tools, then this could potentially work as the lategame fatigue win condition vs other control decks; but for now, Warlock feels like in a rather struggling situation against Aggro.

          Things might change in a couple of reveals, tho.

            This exactly. Control warlock needs the tools they are losing to be good, this card alone will not help them because they will die before fatigue becomes relevant. We saw this last year when they lost Reno to rotation, had no healing, and were the worst class in the game during the Un’Goro meta. They’re gonna need new lifesteal/healing cards, we’ll see what they get.

    This might just be the best Hearthstone card I’ve ever seen. This effect is so strong for control decks because they can essentially fetch whatever removal tool they’re looking for or ditch a really bad hand. It comes at a low cost–I’d honestly play this on 4 or 5 mana if it’s what they released it at.

    On top of everything, it’s in Warlock of all classes–the one that already has the best odds to draw whatever it wants. Fetching a Twisting Nether or a Hellfire when you need one is going to be the new control meta.

      It’s also worth noting the adorable combo this card has with Betrugg: turn 10 drop Betrugg and play this and rush down the opposing board while filling your hand with minions.

      Are you familiar with similar cards in other games like Yugioh and MtG? They’re complete crap. I know they are different games, but it’s still a comparison point.

      Put simply though, wouldn’t it be better to play two more answer cards in your deck over playing two of these to hopefully then draw what answers you are playing?

        This was all good till you blasphemed wheeling in mtg, wheel effects have always been used in Moreno powerful formats (vintage, legacy) because it refreshes your hand for very low mana, giving you access to a bunch of new cards, and helps refilling a hand to use force of will and the like.
        Windfall is banned and legacy, and restricted in vintage, and effects both players
        Timetwister is $500 collectors edition, and is one of the power nine
        Sure, wheeling might not be nearly as good in hearthstone, but it could be the next UI or patches or something, you never know
        Don’t judge it till you try it, all I’m saying

          Wheel effects are not this. Those often let you draw more cards than you had originally. The fact many of them let you dump the cards into the graveyard also helped.

          Windfall, Timetwister. and the original Wheel of Fortune can take a player with no cards in hand to seven or eight while also potentially screwing over your opponent.

          This, however, will always result in you having one fewer card in hand that you started with. It is much more similar to Reload or Magical Mallet in Yugioh.

          Playing Wheel of Fortune while you have an otherwise empty hand would draw you seven cards for two mana. Playing this while you have an otherwise empty have would draw you nothing.

        I’m familiar with Wheel of Fortune in MtG, which was more expensive and still copped a ban in most formats.

        I think being able to essentially mulligan your hand whenever you need a card is unbelievably strong.

          This is no Wheel of Fortune, and the power of that card comes more from how it allows a player with almost no cards in hand into having a full hand for only three mana.

          This only offers the midgame mulligan, which also costs a card in hand on top of the two mana, and outside of some very niche situations and assuming Team 5 isn’t stupid enough to give Warlock a five mana draw five combo with Augmented Elekk, that isn’t going to be strong enough to warrant playing in constructed.

          Playing Plot Twist should always result in you having fewer cards in hand where as most of the good Wheel of Fortune effects at least draw you as many cards as you started with while also potentially screwing over your opponent and often filling up your graveyard.

    If this will mechanically work like mulligan, it will be really good because it ensures you don’t draw something that was already in your hand. If it literally puts everything back in the deck and then draws from that then no it is clearly a trap like all other card games with this mechanic.

    But even then no other card game has the strict 30 card limit. Late game it could possibly still prove useful. We honestly have no idea. All we have right now is what we know from other games which would frame this badly.

    You know I just realized with this and Elekk control warlock has a viable reason to run the spell void contract. Cut both decks in half and then while have a big ish hand play this with Elekk to load up your deck with at least 2 copies of the cards in your hand go into wild and you could possibly drop 2 guldans. (ouch). I’m definitely going to try to assemble a contract deck using this set up even if just for the memes.

        Note I said as a meme deck it’s not a deck you play with expectation to win you play it so when you do win you can laugh about it. It’s always fun to beat someone with a really weird deck that really would be considered maybe tier 3. In wild this is actually easier to trigger if you can stay alive because of blood bloom into contract you just need 4 cards in hand before you would do it.

            The whole point of the meme is cut you opponent’s deck in half while preservers your deck size. But yeah, it’s a bad plan. Certainly not a tier 3 deck or anything close to it.

    Wild control warlock could run doll master for doll master plot twist into malgantis and voidlords or to search for guldan and removal/tech cards more efficiently, this appears to be a very powerful card for mid-range/control variants of warlock.

      You use two cards (plot twist, soularium), 3 mana to draw 3 cards. That’s 3 mana draw 1. Same as Arcane Intellect

        It has some better uses with dollmaster Dorian at turn 8 though 3 chances at say a voidlord from solarium and then at least 3 more chances at it when shuffle cards. Small field stats but has possibly high value if draw certain cards also this could prevent you from burning something important with solarium. Most threatening thing to this card is a daring reporter.

    I think I expected this card to appear in mage with curio hunter. And here it comes in the hands of warlock. It has flexibility for 2 mana you are drawing a ton of cards. Whitch is never a bad thing.
    You can solarium get 3 cards than redraw them and probably not discard anything?. You can shuffle some cards if you don’t like what your archthief rafaam gave you.
    In wild the obvious benefactor to this card is renounce warlock. With this you can draw your combo more consistently or if you happen to draw your y’sharaj you can return it to your deck. So a big meme deck just got descent support. Even though priest would like this for his cloning gallery.
    Also gadgetzan reporter or whatever it was called that gets+1/1 for each card drawn is like curio collector for mage.
    The year o the dragon seems to be the year of Y’sharaj in wild. I mean every year in wild is the year of Y’sharaj. Now i know why in WoW they killed him even though old gods are unkillable. Imagine every raid’s final raid boss to be Y’sharaj. Seems annoying. And the yer he was released he was basicly the weakest one of them all.
    You don’ want to put this card in if you do not have a value generator. Otherwise it just slims out value from your deck. But it can help you draw more corrupted bloods in terms of rafaam value.
    And warlock does not have that much when drawn efects so the effect is much more usefull for rogues. But Renounce lock is cheep. You already have y’sharaj from your big priest why not have a playable deck with warlock too? one legendary combo 2 decks. And than we wil lcomplain moe about barnes because all the freebies are playing him in wild. I deffinately think Barnes is the problem.

    Yeah, I haven’t played the yugioh equivalent of this, but this doesn’t seem good at all, SUPER overrated atm. Even the combo with the legendary isn’t that great cause all the minions you summon die at the end of the turn, and there’s no Gul’dan to bring back demons. I can’t see any serious deck using a slot for this once the initial meme period at the start of every expansion is over.

    Plot Twist card really is not good. Similar designs exist in card games like Yugioh, a card game without mana costs and where your opening hand is much more important than it is in Hearthstone, and none of them are considered staple cards or even good outside of extremely niche FTK strategies.

    Unless Fel Lord Betrug- Plot Twist combos begin dominating the format or there’s a pay-off for having a particular card(s) in your deck rather than your hand, this will see zero play.

        Even before every card began to generate advantage and Yugioh was more similar to Hearthstone as a result, neither Reload nor Magical Mallet were good cards. They are rookie traps made to teach players that good looking cards aren’t always good like Wooden Sphere and other similar designs in MtG.

        They are each a minus one in card advantage and in the case of Plot Twist, two mana’s worth of Tempo in exchange for only maybe getting something better. Warlock itself really doesn’t need this sort of design due to Life Tap.

        Aggressive, Tempo, and Midrange Warlock decks will never play it. It’s cost is too high and floor too low. Maybe at zero, it may be worth considering in case if even after the mulligan, your hand sucks.

        Combo Warlock decks would only consider this card if they find themselves needing to play a card like Hemet, Jungle Hunter as soon as it can be played as a last ditch effort card.

        Control Warlocks may play the card. However, I very much doubt they will. The primary appeal of the card in such a deck would be to assist in the aggressive match-up as a way to dig down deeper into their deck to find board sweepers and removal. Personally, I would rather play two extra removal sources or whatever else the deck wants to have over Plot Twists.

      if you coin this on turn 1 its a two mana draw 3, if you play it on turn 2 with coin, it draws 5, if you play it turn 2 on the play it draws 4. all the while not putting you further into fatigue. this card is offensive on a personal level. how is it even possible this card got through design testing? you have to see this right? like… its like a stacked battle rage with no setup and utility of card generation and specific duplication. how can anyone not see it?

          Yeah, This isn’t Dead Man’s Hand, and is actually a net minus one in card advantage after the card resolves since it doesn’t replace itself.

    Holy hell this card is insane. Combos with the Betrug, Elk and then If you Rafaam afterwards you’ll turn them all into legendaries.
    I’m 100% playing control warlock when the new expansion hits.

    I’m less scared of Fel Lord Betrug, and more scared of Augmented Elekk. Handlock is getting a massive buff with this card, not to mention that this combos with other cards like Dollmaster. The versatility is insane, you can snag some AOE, fish for mountain giants, or just get a better hand. 5/5

      The only reason why Handlock even exists right now is Genn Graymane, and playing this on turn two or three delays the Mountain Giant drop until turn five since this does not cycle itself as well.

      Why wouldn’t you play more board sweeping effects if you’re playing this in large part to try again and find them?

        Handlock didn’t always have a gen greymane to back it up, and it used to work just fine
        Cubelock was a variant of handlock, albeit revolving around filling your hand to abuse skull of manarai, and it did very well (video on YouTube entitled cubelocks and catacombs)
        I understand your thoughts that this is a net loss of 1 card, so it may not be played as much as some think, however it does give you fresh new options, and nearly eliminates fatigue for only 2 card slots (at a minimum)
        Maybe it won’t be busted, but it certainly won’t be horrible, even if I have to make it happen myself
        It is worth noting that warlock does lose some nice removal with this set, but potential is very real

          I am aware, but it’s been at least three years since it was any good without the card.

          I don’t think calling every Warlock deck that ends up playing with a large hand Handlock is exactly useful for this discussion. I am also aware of just how good Cube Warlock was during K&C format.

          Unless the format is beyond slow, the Augmented Elekk-Plot Twist combo isn’t going to be any good seeing as it is a more complicated form of Dead Man’s Hand at that point.

    Warlock already has a 2-mana way to fish for the card he needs, and doesn’t have to waste a card slot on it. I just really don’t see the benefit to playing this compared to just … drawing cards.

    Initial thoughts: You can dump cards in your hand using EVIL Genius and the like, then use this to trade up with cards from your deck. But that’s an awfully complicated way just to draw things (and it makes your topdecks worse.) You can combo it with Soularium to cancel out the discard effect but works out to be the equivalent of.. 3 mana draw two cards.

    You can use it with Betrug or Dollmaster Dorian, and this has the most potential, but we’ll need to see more big deathrattle minions to make this viable IMO. Building your deck around waiting til turns 7 and 10 just to trigger “some sorta Deathrattles I guess” seems suss.

    You can combo this with Augmented Elekk for the equivalent of Dead Man’s Hand… but only while Elekk is on the field. I don’t get it honestly.

    This and Dorian and the new legendary Demon could make for an interesting Deathrattle Warlock deck. Also this and Elekk = Dead Man’s Hand, which means you could even go infinite with all 4 cards in your hand.

      Just realized, but if you’re playing a combo deck, this could alleviate the issue of sometimes drawing the combo pieces early, and you can compensate the – 1 with the hero power if anything. Also, this lets you use your hero power on 2-3-4 without overdrawing (draw, then shuffle if you didn’t find Mountain Giant for example).

    Yes this card is probably pretty good but you guys are forgetting the true value of a card like this… The memes with Dollmaster Dorian. Getting out Ysera or even Knife Juggler with other minions could be fun. Or you could just throw Baron Geddon and a bunch of choice deathrattles into the mix (or just Spiritsinger Umbra)

    If you play this with Augmented Elekk do you get two copies of every card in your hand? If so then this is absolutely nuts. You can use it to fish for board clears against aggro, or you use it to go infinite against control. I think this is going to be the basis of a new Fatigue Warlock archetype, just like Dead Man’s Hand created a new type of Warrior deck.

    If your deck is mostly deathrattle minions, and you play Dollmaster Dorian then Plot Twist with a full hand, you could end up with a board full of 1/1 minions with good deathrattles. It’s an extreme example, but theoretically possible.

      or the new legendary balrog, but you don’t even need those legendaries on the field, this is just an all around solid card card, throw in an augmented elek if you’re down for the memes. seems both, fun and competitive a combination you don’t often see

        yup, I think the power of a mulligan is worth 2 mana and a card if you are in a pinch so I think it is worth the include.. This set does seem pretty average though, tbh. Though not many broken things going on maybe the bomb mechanic in warrior but we will see..

        you have 2 mountain giants in hand, like most handlocks have than you shuffle 2 more to your deck. Its not that complicated.

      if u have 2 giants in your hand , u have 0 giants in the deck , shuffle both giants back to the deck , u still have 2 so wtf 4 giants?

    The effect is unique, although, I can’t see it having its own place in any kind of viable warlock deck.
    Might be a bit overrated.

    Yup this is awesome and now fel Lord is great outside of wild btw this would be evil in wild even warlock if need to draw out Giants and twilight late game use with fell Lord works to. What would be more interesting is if this applied to your opponent as well could interrupt combo decks which seems to be a theme this expansion. On a side note this could be considered a usefull searching tool and way to drop the late game cards out of hand if Mulligan is crap.

    Eh…this is kind of a classic trap, other card games have similar mechanics and you can basically read this as “spend 2 mana, discard a card except with none of the fun discard synergy.” Don’t see why this is getting so much praise, and no, putting it in your deck to work with Betrug isn’t good.

      The praise is due to the fact it can be considered a searching card say it’s turn 10 and you really need a twisting nether to turn the board around. Then there’s the uses in wild for even warlock that’s searching for twilight Drake and Giants. The fell Lord is basically a late game win more use of this card. Also it can help get cards to your hand you may not want to risk being pulled by a hecklebot or put cards back into the deck you do want heckle to pull.

        Yeah, I’m aware, but this is the exact argument that people use (to choose one example) for Magical Mallet in Yugioh, and it’s generally accepted as a bit of a “noob trap” argument. And that’s in a game where you’re only losing the resource from your hand, come back to Hearthstone and you’re also losing mana. Now, obviously, Hearthstone isn’t Yugioh, or Magic, or anything but Hearthstone, but the overall precedent in card games is that this effect gets mistaken for good by inexperienced players but isn’t actually very good. Could Hearthstone be the exception? It’s possible, but I think it’s VERY reasonable to be suspicious of this card, and I don’t think for a second it deserves to be rated as highly as it is.

          The big difference between the two though is the fact that there ARE cards that benefit from you drawing like doll master and fell Lord in Yu-Gi-Oh there isn’t much of anything that works as effectively with that effect. There are cases where mallet and reload have there uses if say you ran a deck that had cards that moved themselves to bottom of deck. Reload was also an emergency card as a quick play in case of card similar to card destruction or exchange if there was a key card in your hand. I never bothered with mallet but reload was a good tech card with quick play because people I played against did use cards that affected the hand.

    This with Fel Lord Betrug could actually be so good that he becomes viable

      you do know that with with fel Lord Betrug you are actually showing what canrd you have in your hand to your oponent. And the copyes he play on board are rush minion. They can only clear the board. And twisting nether does that at 8 mana and while it does not leave a 5/8 boddy on the field it does not show your hand to your oponent. And it is not a 10 cost 2 cards combo.

    Really interesting card that could be insanely powerful. Probably really good in control decks, allowing you to ( in theory) run more tech cards and dig for them a little better.

    Excited to see if this card will be good.
