The only way to get a little more value of this is combined with knife juggler or scavenging hyena, still not good…

The Piranhas should get charge if there is a damaged enemy card on the board

since this is a gun the attack should not damage the hunter, making him immune. that would make sense and even make the card more playable

This card isn’t great, although I understand why it’s valued ad 5. It’s an Assassin’s Blade that, in exchange for -1 attack on the weapon, you get four 1/1’s throughout the game. I think it’s intended to be more flexible with the damage distribution and include beast synergy to boot. However, the problem is that this distribution will most of the time be in your opponent’s control, not your own. You can’t attack a 3 health minion with it because it will survive, and the 1/1 either has to wait another turn to finish the job or get easily removed/traded into. On the other hand, it allows you to destroy 2 or less health minions and convert the extra damage into a beast on the board.

Overall, this card is just too slow and too clunky for hunter, and I doubt even any control hunters will play it. At 3 mana it would be really good, and at 4 it would be decent. 5 is just too much; it’s a bad card by itself. Maybe other revealed cards might change that, but I doubt it.

If the Piranhas had Charge, then I think it fares slightly better in my assumption of its purpose: To redistribute damage to maximize value.

It makes me upset because I really wanted a good weapon for non-secret hunters. Playing 2 Eagle horns in a non-secret deck just feels…WRONG, which is why I never play it in my beast hunter.

I’m wondering if the piranhas will be pirates to make this gun great.

Maybe there’s a use case for Starving Buzzard? Probably not, but since they are beasts being summoned there may be some useful way to exploit that fact.
