The upside is nice. 4 mana for a 6/6 card is very good, it’s a high tempo play and can even win you some games on the curve if your opponent can’t answer it.
On the other hand, it’s really bad if you don’t. 4 mana 3/3 is absolutely unplayable. So while the upside is nice, I don’t think that it’s worth having to run a potentially terrible card. There are some games in which there is basically a minion on the board every turn. You’d need to play a clear and then play it on the same turn, and that usually costs at least 6+ mana, and this kind of card would get worse and worse as the game goes by.
And in what deck would you exactly want to play it? If you play a faster deck, you usually have some minions on the board already. Unless you face a board clear on Turn 3, you won’t be able to drop it as a 6/6. On the other hand, when playing Control deck, even if you can sometimes guarantee that you will have an empty board going into Turn 4 (like with Doomsayer), 6/6 doesn’t feel that good. I mean, it’s good, but it won’t accomplish much, and if you can’t set it up after a board clear, you will never get its effect.
Card rating: 2/10
This is the card you want to play after a successful Doomsayer.
I dont mind this card. its not terrible.
Its like 4 mana 6/6 beast a few times during a game and bad otherwise. Would you play it instead of spellbreaker in aggro/control? Most likely not because it also gets evenly traded by spellbreaker.
Would you follow with this after doomsayer/boardclear? Sometimes yes, id rather play DK or set up my next turn.
I doubt this card will see much play but it is a tech card that doesnt do much other than play around friendly/enemy boardclears.
Core Rager was pretty similar and that only saw limited play if I remember correctly.
Maybe a neutral version of the card will fair better, but given how seldom Lone Champion is played right now, I don’t think this will fair much better.
Hand empty and board empty are completely different.
+3/+3 is completely different from taunt and divine shield.
Both are still conditions that must be met to make the card playable and the cards are both beasts, four costed, and gain the same buff when the condition is met.
It’s the same condition, but a 4 mana 6/6 is likely stronger than a 3 mana 2/4 Taunt and Divine Shield, yes. However, not so much stronger that either are really worth it outside of arena.
Would I ever play a 4 mana 6/6? Yeah, actually I think I would. In an aggressive deck. Which has minions on the board. And no instant way of getting your opponent’s minions off the board. Yeah….next.
Lol cause midrange, tempo and control decks don’t want a 4 mana 6/6?
How often would either manage to create an empty board on turn four or be able to combo this will a board wipe?
Midrange and tempo decks don’t GET a 4 mana 6/6 almost ever, and no, Control decks probably wouldn’t use it to begin with.
When the H#!!are they going to fix Rexxar and add the available beasts to his build a beast power. It’s total crap that he can’t use new beasts.
why can’t I just play eerie statue? huh? 1/5
It’s a Nice Card, although I would say kinda Niche at the Same time. Your not always going to be playing this card as much as you want too, but when you do it just feels nice.
Arena 4/5
How often is the board free from minions on Turn 4? Maybe after a Doomguard? Seems too situational. 1.5/5 stars.
*Doomsayer*, NOT Doomguard. My bad.
Ah, yeah. Lol
I could see I high tempo, late-game play where hunter puts a rush minion out, clears one minion with it, then plays wing blast to clear another, and then drops this.
Normally I would say that if Hunter reaches the end game without lethal in sight, he has lost the game. But Blizzard is trying hard to make Late-game Hunter a thing, right? We’ll see…
Doomguard clears the board???
Surely you mean Doomsayer?
Eaglehorn Bow into this is amazing
Unless your opponent manages to play multiple minions in the turn after you play Eaglehorn
Could be ok after vanishing or Pyromancer+Equality comb in lategame.
You need to make sure this gets to 6/6 or its trash, so very situational, but could fit in some special decks.
this is a nice control card , literally a 4 mana 6/6 on turn 4 if you have an empty board. not bad for a 4 drop plus its a beast
But your opponents bosrd must be empty as well
ohh, i tought “your” battlefield, i must say im disapointed now,cuz its hard to play this on two sides empty board
4 mana 7/7
So close. 🙂
