This is a 5 mana cheaper shirvallah type of card for every class. Though probably weaker, it’s interesting enough for a giant in my opinion.
I mean, if we can have flesh and molten giants we can also have arcane and naga giants.
hum another giant,i’m a little sick of this… bring nex idea please.
This was added just to f**k up naga pool for new amalg, change my mind.
Does it mess it up? If you are apparently willing to discover a Naga, you probably are playing a deck with a lot of spells too because Nagas synergize with Spells so much.
Look at the big picture here and see that it’s really not that different in principle
Lol. Giant dropping addict?
This counts effective mana spent or the real cost (before mana cheat)?? This is important because there are big spells that gets discounts so can cheat this giant soon!! Want to see this interaction tbh. This is a good Switheroo target in a Naga Priest deck too!
If you are lucky and get a good draw you can play it for free on turn 6.
So I don’t think that is to bad. In wild that is often close to the end of the match. Also the colosols will start to drop right after that.
Bro realllllyyy tryna copy my mate Arcane Giant. But hey im soooo happy to see this printed!!! Big spell mage naga mech deck for the win!
I am fucking done with these damn Giants. They are always broken, they always have to get nerfed. C’mon, this shit needs to end.
You. Suck.
He speaks the truth, and yet you deny his words? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve used my fair share of giants, but historically they’ve been busted. I mean, how does it even make sense that it takes a much mana to summon a baby penguin as it is to summon giants?
I SPEAK FOR THE GIANTS ! ALL HAIL THE GIANTS!! I, cannot wait, for naga mage to pog shells off. Heheheheheh; MUWAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAA????
Please seek mental evaluation ASAP
A lot of the giants could come down significantly faster than this one though. You aren’t seeing this guy before turn 6 and even then he’s costing 5 assuming you perfectly curved out on spells. 5 mana 8/8s on curve aren’t very good.
This is close to Arcane Giant in powerlevel which was an “okay” card for what? 5 years ago? In Karazhan where Druid could get it out incredibly fast and has since literally only seen play in quest mage in wild and that deck isn’t good.
This card is way too expensive and takes too much investment to be good. If your deck wasn’t considering a card like Strongman or whatever (another 0 mana big body that comes down on turn 7-8) it won’t play this as this doesn’t even have taunt.
I remember how busted the Arcane Giant was, and it was 12 mana. The only way for this Giant to come out later than him is by having your spells cost less than 1,6 mana on average, and I’d say that’s not a whole lot, is it? If your deck is entriely made out of spells, and many decks are right now, you can get this Giant out on turn 6 for 0 mana, without making the commitment of having to play something that costs more than 7 mana first, like you do with the Strong Man. Sure, it doesn’t have Rush not Taunt, but nor does the Flesh Giant, and that didn’t stop him from being ridicolously op. By all means, I hope I’m wrong: I don’t enjoy this kind of mana cheating cards, if it ends up being shit, then that’s a win in my book. But I don’t find that likely, that’s all.
In order to play this for 0 on turn 6 you need a literal perfect curve of ONLY spells including turn 6. That is honestly pretty unreasonable as even questline mage has a tendency to float mana since a lot of their spells are removal based which, last I checked, isn’t very good against decks that are mainly all spells like you pointed out. That is also using the “best” example of this in questline mage which runs like 26+ spells in the deck, and I honestly don’t think that deck would care about running this. Conditional 0 mana 8/8s aren’t worthwhile in that deck because it doesn’t contribute to the win condition of burning the opponent over the top and can be a complete brick if you open it instead of that one fire/frost/arcane spell that is halting your quest progress.
Everytime there are minions like this, I always make the same kind of thought process you are currently doing in order to convince myself that they’re not going to be broken. Then, it turns out 0 mana 8/8 are just good, no questions asked. And if they don’t fit a certain kind of deck, they’re going to make a new one which does fit them. Yet again, for them to be worse than the Arcane Giants, each spell you cast would have to cost an average of 1,6 mana or less, which is insane. In a meta where the 6 mana 5/5 which give windfury exist, I just can’t see these boys not being broken as whole hell. However, yet again, if you end up being right, I’d love that: I’d love for these Giants to just be useless garbage, but i find that unlikely.
I understand (and more or less agree), but I would like to point out a small bonus this card has: the Naga creature type. Later in the game, besides being a cheap 8/8 it’s also a potentially cheap enabler for spells that require you to play nagas.
yeah and late in the game that’s absolutely fine
Because they enter the battlefield when there are favorable conditions for them? Idk, but it’s really not that hard to justify the flavor of summoning giants for cheap
Could be 0 mana on turn 6, possibly turn 5 for druid. Big minions that can get reduced to 0 have almost always been good, this seems to be no exception.
As it endlessly drops to 0 mana, we’ll look back on this comment and agree it needs to be nerfed, and agree the developers are out of ideas for new Giants.
You. SUCK. Too.
