Myra Rotspring Card Review
Deathrattle is one of the Rogue’s theme this expansion, it’s clear at this point. And this seems like a great support card for such an archetype. While the stat-line is very weak (5 mana 4/2…), the effects kind of make up for it. 4/2 body is worth around 2.5 mana, Discovering Deathrattle is worth like 1 mana (Journey Below), so you need around 1.5 mana worth of Deathrattle effect on average for this card to be worth it in theory. Well, maybe a bit less, because combining different effects always costs a little extra. It’s hard to realistically calculate the value of Deathrattle effects. If you end up with Cairne Bloodhoof, then well, it’s an extra 4/5 once this one dies, so the effect is worth a few points of mana. But then, there are more complex, situational stuff, like Rogue’s new Blightnozzle Crawler. Sometimes it can be worth lots of mana if you clear a big minion, and sometimes it might be nearly useless, as you opponent clears it on his turn and pings the 1/1.
The thing I don’t like about pushing Deathrattle theme in Rogue is that Rogue needs tempo. The class has no little to no defensive tools, healing and such and Deathrattle cards are generally slow. They have more value in the long run, but the initial bodies are kind of bad. Just like this one – in what world could you drop a 5 mana 4/2, as Rogue, against Aggro decks?
Another downside is that Rogue doesn’t have amazing Deathrattle minions, and Discover has 400% chance to get class stuff. If Rogue had two or three broken Deathrattle cards, then taking their effects and Discovering them would have extra value. As for the Neutral stuff, despite it being a Discover effect, there are simply so many different effects, weak or strong, that it might not be very reliable.
If it costed 1 mana less, or was a 4/4, or something like that, then it would be really powerful. But right now the initial stats / mana cost ratio might be keeping it from seeing play. For Rogue, a 5+ mana minion either needs to be high tempo or have a broken effect to see play. That’s how the class works right now – it just doesn’t have enough sustain or comeback mechanics to play slow cards. It still might see play in Deathrattle deck, but I don’t believe that it will be a card that carries the deck.
Card rating: 5/10
The first two days of this card release you had good chances of finding something good from her effect. Seems that they nerf it cause you getting the same and the same crap cards now
Yea. same monsters here. This card was nerfed to the ground! i get the same 3 deathrattle minions every !@#$ time. Its ridicules.
Can you discover weapon deathrattles with her? If so how would she work with Kingsbane? Would she keep any buffs you put on her? And how about Val’anyr would she be resummoned when the buffed minion dies or would you equip Val’anyr?
The card says “minion”, so…
The only time this card is bonkers is when you discover Sylvanas Windrunner. Otherwise it will feel super clunky, since you probably want a good Deathrattle for this card, and at the same time you want a good card, and rarely are both good. Also, as others said, a shame that the Deathrattle is revealed. Like Fatespinner, it would be nice to hide the Deathrattle. Otherwise, as it is, this should cost 4 mana to be a good card. 1.5/5 stars.
Hang on, say if you were running Myra in a deathrattle rogue variant or something. Would N’Zoth the Corruptor bring Myra back?
Nope. Nzoth considers the card itself before any enchantments; it doesn’t revive Unearthed Raptor.
it’s a + 1 card and … Always a win.
Nice body, probably Asian.
She can rot on me any day.
I laughed to hard about this. But truth has never been spoken so well!
I like it daddy blizzard thank u bb
4/5
feel like this would of made more sense in priest. supporting that archytype. and the priest legendaries make more sense in a dumpster
Please no, Priest have enough deathrattles shenanigans cards, especially that One Obsidian Statue.
It isn’t a legendary for Rogue I wanted, but still OK.
4/5
You know what else would be cool. IF the disovery remains in secret so your enemy should guess what you got đ
I was thinking the same thing until I read your comment, high five Bro đ
Rogue continues to get cheap and interesting legendaries more than any other class. This might not be a super bomb but it will be a lot of fun, I’ll be crafting it early.
Not the worst card you could play, but doesnât fit into any particular Rogue gameplan. It doesnât even slot into a theoretical Deathrattle rogue: with no Deathrattle itself, it doesnât synergize with Kobold Illusionist, Roll the Bones, or the Spellstone.
Well, she may not synergize with roll the bones, but discover is a very usefull card generation tool, being a battlecry gives bounce effects value and the discovered minion does synergize with illusionist and the spellstone.
I mean, she still is not amazing at all, but could be nice enough to play.
I think you meant it synergizes with kobold illusionist roll the bones and spellstone. Despite i am not shure if the deathrattle you discover must be a rogue card. Other classes have lots of deathrattles. But there are usefull things you can get. If it discovers other classes deathrattles you have a potential of void lords obsidian statues, plenty of great stuff. It does look a lot like this and the priest legendary should have slapped though. I mean for rogue its much easyer to target something with a spell. And it doesn;t really need to be a buff to activate the priest legendary you can ping it for 2 or w/e. and you get a extra one for free. And all the other rogue cards give you duplicates of cards so it seems to me like rogue is cloning stuff. Anyway these things are obviously poorly designed. The theme of the expansion is mechs and magnetic so we should expect anything else to ge garbage/.
Discover is always neutral or your class unless specified otherwise.
i think it does sinergise with kobold illusionist. Obiously getting her from kobold illusionist is bad; but if played the other way, she can actually help your kobold target specific deathrattle you previously discovered.
I believe it’d work like carnivorous cube, in that it works with roll the bones and the spellstone
This is my favorite legendary this expansion by far. I wont gonna argue its playability, i just will insta craft her.
Drawing a card is worth 2 mana. Add 1 mana for the Discover effect. So, that’s 2 mana for 6 value in stats. That is worth 3 mana. Add the deathrattle effect for another 1 mana and it turns out to be a good card!
Rate: 3.5/5
2 mana draw a card, good joke.
Giving it the deathrattle after choosing the minion kind of makes it redundant, no?
My opponent now knows exactly which card I chose, and they can play around it. A big part of discovering and stealing cards is the secrecy.
Very poor big game hunter stats, -1/-4 down from a Pit Fighter. The effect seems to add a deathrattle to your hand while also gaining that deathrattle, but what powerful deathrattles do rogues have?
Not a bad card, but doesn’t fit any standard rogue deck currently. Maybe it can help make deathrattle rogue a thing, but I doubt it given odd rogue, pogo rogue and miracle rogue all look good still. 2.5/5
Would have been so cool if it gained the deathrattle secretly…. Darn
Exactly what i was thinking, the fact that you give your opponent info abot your hand is not so good and it would fit the rogue style for it to be a secret.
It’s a little expensive, the body is probably worth two mana maybe, the discover effect is usually worth two mana, and whatever deathrattle it gains could be valued from two face damage (Granted, you’d rarely choose that one) to a 7/7.
It is a bit RNG dependent and there will be times where the card you add to your hand might not have the best deathrattle or the deathrattle you want to give this is on a card that isn’t otherwise very good.
I can see a slower rogue deck wanting to play this.
I just like the effect. Such a cool one!
Is it me or are they pushing deathrattle a bit too much? at least this may make rogue spellstone somewhat useful in standard
I think this is just one of those not so special legendary cards
3/5
2/5
It’s fine, I guess. It’s severely understated for a potentially good deathrattle. You can low or high roll, either way you get a minion and get the deathrattle,in which I just think it’s good, but not really what Rogue is looking for, considering you wouldn’t play this in Kingsbane, Tempo, Odd, or Miracle.
If discover a minion cards are 1 mana, then you can think of this as a 4 mana 4/2 with discover a deathrattle effect. Losing 1.5 manaâs worth of stats for discover a deathrattle is probably well worth it. Then, you put that and the discover a deathrattle minion into 1 card instead of two and you get move value.
I agree itâs a little understated for a legendary, but itâs definitely good in, say, arena. Itâs very difficult to predict if cards with fit into constructed when they donât fit into an existing meta deck, though.
Except Rogue never changed outside of Quest Rogue. I know I shouldn’t predict decks, but Rogue is generally an easy prediction, Miracle, Tempo and now maybe Odd, and some Kingsbane, as I don’t see a use for it.
But hey, maybe Deathratthe Mech Rogue will be a thing, who knows?
It will be good with mechanical whelp.
Meh…
Omg I read your âmehâ in DK Jainaâs spook ghost voice.
