Jack of all trades, master of none.
It’s a pretty bad taunt minion, but it also has a pretty bad card generation thing attached to it, so I guess it makes it ok? I don’t know, it seems solid, but it’s definitely not as good as the sunfish for protecting you and not as good as the 2 mana 1/3 paladin card which discovers holy spells to generate value: the fact that it does both at the same time might make it worthwhile in the Pure archetype. I expect to see this card there, but I wouldn’t call this a Paladin stable going forward.

    Pretty solid card.

When I see this card I have to think of stonehill defender.

Has the upside that you defend the board while you discover a card.

The paladin pool is really good in standard.

But I dont know if its good enough. It is worse Compared to the discover effect of “Battle Vicar: Discover a holy spell”, because you have a shorter discover pool, holy synergy and more control cards.

So in a prince deck or a very value oriented deck it will see play if your paladin deck has some space left. 3/5

Now here’s a card I like! I really enjoyed the Pure Paladin package back when that was in Standard, and even outside of the modern Pure-esque Paladin package they’re making here this card feels like just a nice Paladin card. I’d feel pretty happy including this in any of my non-Mech Paladin decks as is, solid 4/5 imo.
