And it seems how wrong all we are with that amazing card. This card is one of the best of the new expansion. Mage seems so badass and powerfull with that card.
At least it’s not an RNG effect.

I’d like to treat Mozaki as it’s own Chenvaala / Mana Cyclone Deck, were you really want to use Mozaki when you have your Mana Cyclone ready, along with a few Discover Cards out there. Ramping up your Spell Damage would then be no Problem. And if you can get even Spell Damage +3 is where I I believe you’ve just barely made some Value back from Mozaki.
I think Mana Cyclone or even Secret Mages are what would help specialize with Mozaki, becuase with Mana Cyclone, is pretty much a no-brain, plus you get a new fresh batch of mage spells to use again, even if it is random, you should find some card out there to use some last resort power, before Mozaki dies for realizes. As for Secret Mages, they either have to be a bit more defensive or Creativite with working around with Mozaki, such as using Arcane Flakmage, and Cheap Taunts as your Bodyguards (Yes, even Mirrior Images can do the work for you.)
Obviously Mozaki benefits from AoE, but we’ve also learned that being able to use cards like Arcane Missles with a Ramped up Spell Damage, such as dealing 6 damage randomly split for 1 Mana is just as powerful, becuase we once had a Meta, where Mages were using Arcane Missiles and Cinderstorm, and it was quite literally melting down their oppoment’s health away. So when you bring 5 Mana Malygos to your Aid, You can really start turning the tides. The Stats are doing the best it can to defend itself would being a no brain for EVERYONE to use.
Had it 1 more attack for a 5 mana 4/8 AND has some text that requires you to do something, would have easily jumped to 4 stars at bear minimum, but most mages would care for it’s stats rather than it’s Passive. So if Mages just want a Statstick Minion; You actually use Mozaki, and be just as fine about it.
Overall Unless of the other card out there that could make it to the meta or fall flat on it’s face, I at least becuase that Mozaki is one of those cards were if it going on the failing section, it at least has a second pair of legs to stand up, just becuase on how beefy the stats are, for a 5 mana Card. It really dosen’t seem like a 5 Mana 3/8 means a whole lot, but you’d be surprised for how low a lot of your opponents minions are, aside from Rouge Lackeys. Someone is at least going to make a meme deck with Mozaki whilst still being somewhat competitive for Legend Play. 4 Stars.
I was about to post a comment about how Mozaki was inevitably going to fail as a card due to the lack of burn spells in standard, but now that I think about it I think Mozaki’s intended purpose wasn’t for a burn spell mage deck. Maybe Mozaki was designed more towards a control deck.
Mage has a bunch of freeze options to stall the opponent. But if you play Mozaki, you also get the extra spell damage so that you can finish off your opponent’s big minions.
You could play Mozaki on a heavy enemy board, and stall your opponent’s heavy enemies with cheap freezes like Ray of Frost, and buff Mozaki’s spell damage at the same time. Next turn, you could finish off all the enemy minions with a 6 damage Flamestrike all thanks to Mozaki’s extra spell damage.
Overall, I don’t really like this card and I think it will see next to zero play. But that’s just some food for thought.
I think this looks awfully slow. I don’t see any legit use of this that wouldn’t be very clanky. If I’m missing something, someone please change my mind but I don’t see who would want to run this. 3/5

This is an OK card for Reno Mage, high health, play it on curve, aggro should trade into it, stale the board and try to snowball. A bit slow to see play in Tempo, and mage don’t have much draw right now and I don’t see yet as an OTK piece.
First: Why isnt Ras Frostwhisper the Mage Legendary?
Second: Why is a boring effect like this Legendary?
Third: Just like Chenvaala, this wont see play. Too expensive for Combo, too slow for Aggro, too weak for Control.
Why is this getting that rate, its an OTK 10 mana card, not a 5 minion on board…
There’s no way you can pull of an OTK with just 5 mana on mage right now, frost bolt is the cheapest spell that can go face apart from arcane missiles. You’re going to have to reduce the spell costs by more than 2 to pull something like that off.
If you want to win the game off of this it has to remain on the field so you have more than 5 mana to spend for the combo.
First of all i say it was a 10 mana otk not 5. Plus u have cards like: sorcerers apprentice, incanters flow, and a bunch of cards to generate spells from nowhere. Stop thinking in spell mage just like a deck that cannot run minions. If you draw or mulligan Incanters in the first 5 turns , it will be a big trouble. And OTK is not the only win condition for this card.
sorcerer’s aprentice+ ray of frost*4+arcane missiles gets you a malygos with an apprentice on board and 3 mana remaining. I don’t know how practical that is for a combo, but it certainly could work (especially with the 1/1 elemental that gets a copy of arcane missiles). I think a more practical use for this is in a small spell mage deck. The card isn’t broken by any means, but it’s certainly not bad. The scariest part of this card is if the opponent can’t deal with it on turn 5, and you drop a sorcerers apprentice next turn to cast a bunch of spells. That could potentially be a win on turn 6.
It’s kinda in an awkward spot- there’s two decks that would like to run this:
– An OTK combo mage, but it doesn’t easily hit 30 damage unless they print more 0 cost spells or you rely on Incanter’s Flow (best I can get is 2 secrets from Ancient Mysteries + 2 coins from Licensed Adventurer + 2x Arcane Missiles + 2x Frostbolt for ~34 damage depending on enemy minions + good luck keeping those 9 cards in your hand without dying)
– A tempo/aggro/spellspam Mage, which I would love to see return but doesn’t have enough draw at the moment. Last time spellspam Mage was viable, we had Aluneth.
That said, the stats are good enough where you might happily drop it on curve and hope it survives, or save it for the lategame and rely on its soft taunt + snowball potential to clinch the match. And Spell Mage will reeeally enjoy getting this from Font of Power.
this + apprentice + ray of frost *2 (for 4 total uses) + arcane missles*3 (off of violet spellwing)+fireball= 7+8+9+13= 35. This can go much higher, but in a small spell mage deck you likely wouldn’t even need to do 30 damage in one turn and this card could potentially win the game on 6 if it’s not dealt with on turn 5. I wouldn’t say it’s broken, but it’s certainly very good.
This needs to be played on curve and hope that it survives in order to truly get everything out of this. The potential of this card is Malygos levels of bursting if not more but I’m kinda doubtful.
2/5 unless we get some new cheap good spells like ray of frost or somethin along the lines of Moonblast.
The horror the horror combo mage adores this card with that sticky health if opponent doesn’t stop the card quick it’s all over. This card is far more terrifying in wild than standard but has a few benefits for standard decks.

Vs Aggro – this can snowball really fast if not handled, the stats are very good and align well with the ability.
Vs Control you need to combo this with discounted spells (coins are the best..) so in Control meta you need to build a deck around this.
This isn’t a dual class card – so does that mean each class will get 3 legendaries? 2 dual class legendaries and it’s own class legendary?
