Underestimated in my opinion. This is just a solid card that can be tossed into a wide variety of decks.

If you’re behind he can help stabilize by giving you armor right away along with 2, 5 health taunts and the option to armor up each turn after. perfect if you know burst is coming in or you just need to get out of range of a potential charge minion.

If you’re ahead you can put down 2 poisonous minions to force opponent to deal with them before dropping anything and start poking away at their health with 3 attack each turn.

Also works with Fandral for both the summons and hero power.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this hero power over the last few days.

Maybe because Auction master Beardo allows you to reset hero power many times per turn with druid’s many low cost spells, not even including Jade Idol.

Or maybe because the way druid is built, the hero power isn’t supposed to be strong.

What I don’t understand in relation to druid’s hero power, is why Claw is a thing. Even with this Plague Lord hero power, Claw is worse than Shield Slam. I was expecting druid to get some kind of weapon this expansion (maybe a staff or something) that would make Claw almost a real spell.

Nevertheless, this is an okay hero power for handling any match up, despite being worse than the warlock hero power upgrade, almost strictly (were it not for the armor stacking).

I agree with what you’re saying, but i think you may mean Savagery (Deal damage equal to your hero’s Attack to a minion), rather than Claw (Give your hero +2 attack this turn, gain 2 armor)

Probably one of the worst DK cards, just doesn’t quite do enough when it is played.
The only real reason this will see play is if Innervate can cheese it out quickly enough, but even then…
    4/10

To start with, 7 mana in a druid is usually hit in turns 5-6, so cant be compared to other dk.
The battlecry adds survivability against agroo and removal against control (worth 4-5 mana).
The hero power can be compared to a wrath per turn or almost “justicar warrior hero power”, which helps against combo decks. This effect is worth prob from 2 to even more than 5 mana IMO, based on how early it is played.
The 5 armor are worth 0-1 mana, based on the match-up.
Not an instawin card, but its great for its mana cost.

This is actually like a shittier version of Warlocks Dk hero power that costs 3 less

But it’s a lot easier to just play whenever and it is still pretty good

    It’s like playing a Justicar turn 7

    • Gully1824
      August 8, 2017 at 4:38 AM

I would argue it’s better than justicar. Sure one mana more and one less on the armor (compared to warrior where it was used most), but it comes with some bonus minions and more flexibility. This card is rated way too low

      • Brann
        August 8, 2017 at 8:44 AM

Ya it’s still a lot better then Justicar the 3 Att or 3 armor is really strong

And the bodies it gives you, can be way more defensive

It’s just not a Loaded as some of the other Dk hero powers, that’s why it’s being rated so low

You could prob but this in Jade druid and it’d still work pretty good

Because it gives you a reliable source of life gain and removal with hero power

Seems like good card to drop on 7 or 5 against most heroes. 2/10 taunt stats that practically survives flamestrike with 2 health or 2 spiders that can help you clear pesky taunts from control warrior.

Has some nice Fendril, Taunt and Beast synergy, definitely will see play. Wont autowin you the game but is a good legendary to add to any druid deck.

They should buff it. My thoughts are to “Battlecry: Choose One; fill bourds with 1/2 or 1/5. Then the hero power shouldn’t be a choose one. It should be +3 attack and armor together.

      August 7, 2017 at 12:45 PM

I agree that it is underpowered compared to the other DK hero cards, but fill the board is overkill. I think it should cost 10 and have take the other legendarys Deathrattle as a Battlecry. Okay, also might be way too OP, but the Heropower isn’t very good here.

    August 6, 2017 at 11:05 PM

Probably the weakest dk card because the battle cry and hero power doesn’t impact the board much

  8. Blitz
    August 6, 2017 at 7:35 PM

    So. This guy.

As a big fan of Druid, this card does sadden me a bit. Firstly because it doesn’t make a big impact on the board other than to grant you 8 armor on turn 9 (play and hero power).

Secondly, this has little place in any version of Druid we are seeing. Wanna play him in Token Aggro Druid? No. Jade Druid? Why?

They have made this 1/5 taunt scarab achetype for druid that just wants to put me to sleep. Unless someone does some kooky chemist stuff on them to make them 5/1 or uses some of the mark spells to buff attack, this idea just sounds boring. Sorry Blizzard, I’m dusting this guy.

This will not see any competitive play, the concept of giving players to choose depending on the board is nice. However, the 2 options really suck and don’t worth spending 7 mana on it

      August 6, 2017 at 9:31 PM

The 3 attack, yes. But 3 armor is just too weak.. I do get the theme of “choose one” and Druid being designed as a midrange class but at least make it 4 or 5 armor

      • Runebob
        August 7, 2017 at 4:18 AM

        But its a “choose one”,
So the legendary druid card that lets you get both effect from choose one, should work here, so it could be +3/+3 as hero power

        • Moltar
          August 7, 2017 at 7:55 AM

Yes, both the battlecry and hero power work with Fendral.

  11. Kirtap
    August 6, 2017 at 5:23 PM

As a battle cry, this card is relatively weak, but at least you have some flexibility in your choices. However, I feel the value comes from the hero power, which is actually really good in my opinion. The fact that you can pick defence or offence, with higher damage then any other class and more defence then warrior, will provide good strength to Druid. I understand why people are sceptical of this card, but I think it will see play purely because of how strong the hero power is. Just my two grains of salt on his topic.

I dont think the card is that weak, although the power level isn’t mind blowing, i just think its boring.

    August 6, 2017 at 1:37 PM

Hmmmm. This is a weird evaluation.

So, in general I want to say that this card isn’t worth it. As we’ve already discussed, the 2 1/2s with poisonous aren’t very good. Best case scenario, worth 4 mana (probably less, though). The 1/5s with taunt are hard to evaluate, but I’ll be generous and say 2 mana each for 4 mana. Then we have the armor which we’ll give 1, and it seems to balance out as you’d expect, giving the last two mana value for the hero power, which is a… decent hero power.

I don’t know, this card strikes me as just not being impactful enough or synergeristic for me. Fandral might make this card great, but I kind of doubt it.

It´s funny to see people complaining about ”how druid doesn´t have removals”… maybe because its not supposed to have that many? If all the classes had the same way to control the board so why having 9 different heroes to pick and play? The expansion isn’t out yet so I can´t say much, but looking at all the cards that have already been showed (mind that there are still 4 or 5 to show off) I think all those taunts will work well against not only aggro, but also big minions. This card gives you either 2 taunts to slow down your opponents if they are ahead of you on numbers or 2 poisonous so you can get prepared for the next threats. And getting 3 armor or shield is just great… I’ve been playing ramp druid for the last 2 expansions and these cards seem to be the shield druid always needed before getting the big minions on the battlefield 🙂

for those who were wondering if faendral worked with the druid hero power: https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/6rzhg3/two_new_death_knight_hero_cards_released_by/dl8wl1j/?st=j610j1ld&sh=29e3c42a

This is a really strong card. Don’t quite understand what people are complaining about. The hero power is insanely strong, good versus whatever matchup you’re facing off against because three attack is a ton of free pressure and kills a ton of relevant minions. If you’re up against aggro, ten health of taunt the turn it comes down and three armor every turn is a huge life swing. I think the issue must be that it was spoiled alongside uther 😉

    August 6, 2017 at 10:39 AM

Can someone tell me what the stats for the scarabs and spiders are? Also I don’t consider this card weak. If you need taunts when you play him, summon the taunts. If you have some taunts on the board, then summon the spiders (If we’re talking taunt druid). Plus, Justicar is wild now, what about standard? And considering Druids have shit like Wild growth and innervate, you can get this card up really early if you have him in your hand. If not, then it’s the same case for every other hero card

do we not remember control warrior with 4 armor a turn hero power being everywhere this is slightly worse with that with the ability to do 3 damage a turn how is it bad?

      • Bradipo3582
        August 6, 2017 at 12:34 PM

Warrior has removal that allows it to be a control class. Druid doesen’t even have anything that can remove a single N’Zoth

Worst hero by far. Justicar is better.

    • Bmbroomhead
      August 6, 2017 at 4:33 PM

Not really, for 1 extra mana you gain 5 armour, an (arguably) better hero power, and roughly 4 mana worth of minions. and you lose a 6,3 which is about 4.5 mana worth of stats. Considering that the 5 armour is worth about 1 mana this is technically a net worth gain and therefore better than justicar.

      • Tim
        August 8, 2017 at 9:37 AM

You could argue that 6/3 is only worth 4 mana, thanks to Worgen Greaser from Gadgetzan

  25. NamedAnon
    August 6, 2017 at 10:16 AM

The effects don’t seem too powerful. The deathknight can be compared to Justicar Trueheart, which is arguably a better body, maybe even a better hero power, and it didn’t really see any play in Druid.
