    Zilliax, Reborn

I think Maiev is an Auto-Include for a LOT of Decks. Disables Taunt, prevents huge minions, Improves your AoE Clears…the ideal control battlecry! And that on a 4 Mana 4/3, so at least Midrange Decks can make use of her too.

Good for all kind of decks. 5/5

She reminds me a little of D.D. Warrior Lady for the removal purpose.

Wow an actual use for the Dormant keyword *slow clap

Also the fact that “dormant” in this case is a powerful negative effect speaks a TON for the other cards with the keyword…

frost elemental is crying right now…

But for real, this card is really good. It can be used on the imprisoned minions, though I imagine thats awful tempo. Maybe this could work specifically with the warlock one. However, this is much better on enemy minions. It has a vanilla 3 mana statline, bundled with a strong effect. In any hyper aggresive deck this card basically is just “destroy a minion”. This also could be interesting in certain combo decks, playing something like kaelthas and then this to make it dormant and wait for turn 10. I also don’t know how viable that is but its a thought. I think this will just slot into aggro and maybe midrange. Regardless, this card still is a 5/5

Does it remove buffs? Important question

“Q: I wonder if the minion saves its buffs and gained effects after waking up from Maiev Shadowsong’s battlecry. How does it work?
A: Yep, it awakens exactly as it was (Editor notes: So It apparently won’t heal the minion as someone might be wondering).”

Blizzard remove Spellbreaker(same cost and stats) for this?

This is a 5 Star Card for sure and autoinclude in many Decks i guess.

Its super versatile for Aggrodecks as well as for Control or Combo Decks.

you can use maiev on your own minions to set a combo for future or avoid boardclears, is not just removal

I doubt so (at least in standard), because using a 4/3 to protect any of your own minions isn’t a good idea since rogue control decks don’t have much better stats in minions, but maybe in the future it could be such a good use.

Very nice and allows you to reuse dormant cards effects seeing as how their effects start out with (when this awakens).

Also this can be used with concept of a stasis trap dormant minions can’t be interacted with by spells or minions meaning you could remove taunts or disable deathrattles.

The only question is does making certain minions go dormant nullify the deathrattle if the death rattle was dependant on battlecry. In other words could it nullify Teron if he’s forced to go dormant.

Side note I wonder if there will be a special quote if play Maiev while using Maiev hero. I could totally picture her saying something like “If you want something done right.”

There is cause for something similar to happen in some of the solo adventures if play certain minions there’s scripted bonus dialogue.

The frozen throne solo adventure was good for amusing lines from the cards loved playing the lich King in some of the fights.

That’s a good question, and one I hadn’t considered myself.

My gut reaction says that the minions are “reset” when they’re made dormant. This would be similar to ressurecting a minion like carnivorous cube.

Of course, I don’t KNOW, if this is the interaction, but it seems logical that any enchantments are removed when the minions goes dormant

That’s basically the question I never used the darkness and it’s the closest could have for answers however the ONLY thing it could answer is if buffs while in hand or deck stay when summoned as dormant. That would be nice to know for embiggen druid but what happens when make an active minion go dormant will need experimenting.

The closest to that was a deathrattle minion that went dormant but that card technically dies so it’s not a good reference.

Does awakening from dormancy trigger battlecry?

I was wondering what happen when Maiev give dormant to recently awoken dormant minions.
Does the minion activate it’s awoken ability again?

If it does, playing her on antaen is a terrible idea LOL

I’m guessing it’s not. Because it will be too OP. And the 2nd reason for this, I think it just give choses minion a static state. (Imprisoned Minions had different dormant state)

But I’ve been wrong before. So I’ll going to hold my theory.

I’d say that since this using the same Dormant keyword as the other minions that the awaken effects would happen.

I guess we won’t know for sure unless someone makes a video or release day

This seems really good, especially with Spellbreaker going to the Hall of Fame. It’s not a permanent removal, but it does completely remove a minion for two (maybe three, depending on whether it looks at your turns or your opponent’s and whether it has summoning sickness when it wakes), while putting a decent body on the board. This can get rid of taunts, unpleasant death rattles, or just big, threatening minions. This is sweet card design and I would be shocked if it doesn’t see any play.

I guess that why they put spellbreaker to the whole of fame. He would never see play with this card around.

Spell breaker = better against most classes since completely stops the effects.

But this is better against priest that run ressurection can’t Rez what hasn’t died and can’t buff up a (big priest) minion if can’t touch it.

The real question is how does making them go dormant interact with abilities like divine shield or deathrattles requiring battlecries.
