I see danger on this card. xD I really like it, not like Hunter Naga 2/3. -_-
buff attack, play cheap spells reduced cost + cycle, kills minions while immune + goes face…
it’s a clear 5 stars and will be incredible in all match-ups
Demon Hunters don’t buff minions.
it’s good with 2 attack anyway.
but the card is so good that I don’t see why you can’t run buff cards as DH has good draw engine:
good options:
banana vendor – excellent synergy with cheap spell + reduction if possible
reflecto engineer –> 4 atk
field of strife -> 3 atk
other possibilities but not so useable:
kazakus golem shaper, claw machine & legionnaire
I mean it is marginally better than Kreen, but Kreen wasn’t very good to begin with so that is a really low bar. I mean you probably just put it in like Fel DH, but I feel like this is just a pretty expensive combo piece for board control especially with cheap cards like Eye Beam rotating.
Where was it stated that it is leaving the core set? I haven’t seen any core 22 announcements.
I mean it isn’t confirmed, but Eye Beam is CURRENTLY in the core set. Is it possible that demon hunter initiate stays forever? Absolutely, but unless it is confirmed staying I would just assume virtually everything is rotating especially considering how much got booted out from classic/basic when they introduced the core set last year.
I understand what you are saying however many core cards were old cards and demon hunter doesn’t have any of those, Blizz being greedy and oft lazy could easily overwork their staff resulting in many ‘reprints’ as it is eyebeam is a core piece of a Demon hunter’s toolkit lore wise. I certainly won’t hold the hearthstone crew in contempt for not making a ton of new DH cards.
I think S’theno is a 4-star generic Midrange card.
It is Immune while attacking on ALL attacks, not just ones triggered by spells, so Aggro decks ignore it at their peril (peril of losing the board and being unable to get it back) even without spells in hand to back it up.
She is also decent against Control/Combo decks because the triggered effect when you play a spell does NOT specify “enemy minion”, only “enemy”, and can thus go face – stack this with the number of cheap spells DH has that gain attack or draw cards and this can really help find the last little bit of reach to get lethal against opponents with no board or high health minions – particularly notable against Druid and Warrior because Armour is not Health and thus doesn’t prevent S’theno going face.
The final thing to note is that 4 health on a 3-drop is quite solid, and playing her on turn 3 into an empty board is real good, because developing into her is really risky and removing her isn’t easy for several classes (particular note – a lot of removal only does 3 damage, which isn’t enough on its own).
Excellent analysis. Thank you.
I may add that you are probably are DH main and are getting hyped for the card^^ so it’s just 3 star for me.
