This card is kind of like a balanced N’Zoth. Your deck won’t be focused on the card but there is potential for greatness. This will most likely only be used in Highlander decks or control Warlock.

Fits right into Control Shudderwock Shaman. I play this deck and consistently have stacked removal spells in my hand all the time. 4/5

So if you prismatic lenses this, does it count the spell you got as a 10 mana spell, or as its original cost?

I think you misinterpret this . For example : if you have 5 spells in your hand , when you summon this , you summon 5 cost minion .

It says “For each spell,” so it summons one minion equal to the cost of every spell in your hand, not equal to how many you have. In the case of Prismatic Lens, I am not sure how it interacts.

          July 30, 2019 at 2:24 PM

It will summon a minion with a cost equal to whatever Prismatic Lens changed the spell’s cost to.

          For reference:
-Spirit of the Frog will draw you a 1-cost spell if you cast a Feral Spirits that has been discounted by Haunting Visions.
-Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian, will summon a 3-cost minion if you cast Fireball with a Sorcerer’s Apprentice in play.

I just watch a video for this card . You are right . If I have 3 5 8 cost spells in my hand , it will summon 3 cost , 5 costs , 8 costs minions for total 3 minions . This one is insanely good with Shudd Shaman.

If you play this with a 10 cost secret in hand, it should summon a 10 cost minion.

Although very good, this card is 10 mana and has a fairly specific requirement, so it will have very limited playability

…but when played correctly in the right deck it can be devastating

In theory, you only need about 6-7 total mana cost in spells in hand when you play this to get a reasonable result, though given how powerful things can get in constructed late game, you probably want twice that, spread across at least 3, preferably 4 or 5 spells. It’s not going to be your win condition on its own, but I think it’ll be included in any deck that generates spells or includes many high cost spells that tend to be saved for endgame.

Despite being neutral it feels like only shaman and maybe mage can make use of it. I don’t think heal Druid wants this card. And thankfully makes sea giant-conjurers calling combo worse.

Not exactly sure what I’m missing here since I’m just seeing it as a worse Astromancer for Mage. But I guess it could also screw over Khagar Mage if they get unlucky with their Sea Giants, so. Eeeh. I don’t mind this card, but who knows, maybe it could actually see some experimentation. 2 Stars.

I see a lpt of people misintepreting this card. Basically if you have 6 spells in your hand, you summon 6 minions of costs equal to the costs of the spells in your hand. I can’t see how that is worse than astromancer, even if you have less spells.

Army-in-a-can cards are rarely bad, and this doesn’t require much deckbuilding contortion to be good. 4/5

I think this is a good card, but mostly because there are so few lategame threats for Control decks nowadays. Look at Warrior, they used to have The Lich King and Rotface and Yip and Grom and Ysera… now, they have The Boomship and Dimensional Ripper and The Boom Reaver to get massive threats on the board, but they don’t have any good threats to summon. Blizzard’s Big Warrior deck recipe recommends using Amani War Bears as your lategame threats… that’s just sad. The only top tier Control deck right now, Control Warrior, doesn’t even attempt to kill you with its cards, its win condition is Fatigue.

Welp, this is a legitimate late game threat for Control decks, and as such I expect it to see play. 4/5

I think this will be used in every non-mill (Elysiana) Control deck. Mage, Shaman, Priest, Druid and even Paladin or Hunter have enough Spells to make this work. Even summoning a bunch of small minions is already a massive thread. And one big spell like Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron is already enough to make this useful. I think this is at least as good as Spiteful Summoner.

I would say the only deck with enough bs to allow themselfs this card is shaman, and that is stretching it.

Seems a worst Astromancer, but also a Nerf for conjurers calling.

      July 30, 2019 at 6:03 AM

How is it a worse Astromancer? If you have 3 spells it summons 3 minions for their costs. Astromancer summons one minion each time.

This is a nice card classes likely to play it are mage, priest, druid, and shaman. Mage is obvious, priest runs some big spells, druid has several big cost spells, and shaman after playing hagatha adds spells to hand when play a minion, with ability to replay this power through Shudderwock.

am too so glad it will disrupt conjurers calling.

It’s probably too expensive and situational, but the payoff is big enough it could be worth a slot in some decks. My control Shaman deck that plays Shudderwock could throw this in and probably do some work.

    Terrible Legendary.. 1 star.
    – Vs control its not good because you will be answered with board clear spell,
    – Vs aggro its terrible, dead card in hand and irrelevant.
    – Vs mid-range it’s fine – might help you pressure, but not reliable, you can loose the game next turn.

      Terrible player/card analyst: 1 star
-Has nothing nice to say about the cards (obviously didnt watch Bambi)
-Clearly missed some major metas and card experimentations & strongpoints
-(He has 3 points so I feel left out if I didnt put 3 points here)

super counter for conjeres calling i like it

    • Petem1911
      July 30, 2019 at 6:13 AM

only when people conjure sea giants which isn’t as often as mountain giants or other non 10 cost minions. Plus 2 5/5s on board doesn’t really weaken the conjurers that much

    • Bigturdblossom
      July 30, 2019 at 6:20 AM

Im confused how this counters conjurers calling

      • JustYourAveragePayToWin
        July 30, 2019 at 5:35 PM

Mages generally like to CC on their Sea Giants, because 10 cost minions are very good right now. This is a very poorly stated 10-drop so Mages don’t have as much consistency when CC’ing their Sea Giants.

        • Bigturdblossom
          July 31, 2019 at 6:02 AM

Oh…i wouldn’t call this a “counter”….more of a “nerf” because a counter would mean you play this after your opponent plays CC. They’re also getting the 10/10 with reborn/divine shield added to the pool though

  17. Lop
    July 30, 2019 at 2:50 AM

This might see play in priest with mind control and plague of death, an added bonus is that it makes conjurers mage worse with 10 drops – thats a 5/5 for me purely for that reason.

Might be run in one of the new highlander/one of decks, specifically Mage, if that becomes a thing. Because that deck would play the new earthquake and puzzlebox cards as well, and probably cards like blizzard, flamestrike, and a bunch of smaller spells.
The one thing really holding it back is that you can’t guarantee to get taunts, boardwipes or healing from it though, so it’s not like a N’Zoth although the statlines and effect seem somewhat similar at a glance.

    • Thraben
      July 30, 2019 at 3:18 AM

The new Reno is starting to make a bit more sense now since it’s a board clear on a minion. Mage quest also generates spells so no need ti be so hesitant to save the spells for this. Good point.

        July 31, 2019 at 5:27 AM

I feel like a problem a lot of people rating cards on this site have is that they only look at how good a card would be when added to a currently existing deck. It’s way more interesting with cards like this to imagine the world they are actually going to be around in.

  19. Thraben
    July 30, 2019 at 2:36 AM

If you get even 3 medium cost spell summons (~5 mana) from this it’s well worth it, not quite on N’zoth level but it’s the least one can expect typically (6 spells is maximum too for 7 minion board). Randomness is a big drawback though. I can only see this work with Druid currently and maybe Priest.

BUT the thing that’s most awesome about this is that it’s a big nerf to conjurer’s calling 10 mana pool. Rejoice!

i wonder if it will see play

    July 30, 2019 at 2:25 AM

Well, when dropped on curve, it’s going to be a beast for sure. But the longer the game progresses, the worse it become.

Spells are generally used to contest the board. I don’t see this card as being played as a last hurrah card unlike N’Zoth due to the shrinkage in spells by the time you really need it.

Holding unto spells instead of playing them for your own board advancement is a dilemma, but having the right tone of greediness would make this card more effective.

Oh, and I see this as a Priest card? Tech in Mind Control and high roll for a Colossus.

I guess its not powerfull enough. Big Spell Mage maybe? In other hand it’s a nerf for Conjurer’s into Sea Giant.
