The downside is too severe even when considered as an upside. Playing a vanilla 1 mana 1/1 with carpet isn’t good enough in my opinion, and drawing these without that just feels awful. Riftcleaver gets the job done much better, and you actually get a good minion and beneficial downside with it. 1/5

I’m giving it a 5…not because I think it’s a five (more of a 3.5, really), but because people are insanely under-valuing this card. If handlock becomes a thing this card not only is another form of removal, but it adds cards to your deck that prolongs fatigue. If handlock remains low tier, this card isn’t even terrible in Zoo decks because it’s cheap taunt removal that gives you more 1 mana minions. Those minions aren’t what you WANT to draw, but they’re not pure garbage either. Not to mention the possibility of more demon synergy popping up in the (maybe near?) future.

Not to mention it adds more cards to your deck for Rafaam to turn into Legendaries…if you’re into that kind of thing.

    Basically, remove for agro/carpet.

Completely unplayable for Control Warlock. Pretty decent removal option for Magic Carpet Zoolock, which runs Arch-Villain Rafaam anyway. I’m just not sure whether Magic Carpet Zoolock wants a single-target removal spell; that’ll be highly dependent on what the metagame looks like. In today’s metagame, this card wouldn’t make the cut. 3/5

I don’t think the combo with Rafaam is relevant in zoo, they don’t play to fatigue. And the downside is still there, but lessened due to carpet.
That said, this goes in my carpetlock.

Combo with Rafaam isn’t to add cards to your deck for fatigue, it’s to try and get rid of Impbalming’s downside of shuffling 3 garbage cards into your deck. The weaker the card, the more valuable it is to turn it into a random legendary, and those worthless imps are VERY weak ^^

I cannot work out if the imps are a downside or upside?
Does it put you 1 turn more before fatigue or does it deal 6 to your hero?

They are definitely a downside in your average deck. You don’t want to shuffle 1 mana 1/1’s into your deck – they’re dead draws in the late game. The only scenario in which they are an upside is when you play in a fatigue matchup and you turn them into more Legends with Rafaam. But that’s very specific and won’t be relevant often enough.

But without knowing more cards it’s hard to say – they might add a way to turn that downside into an upside somehow.

I really want Questlock to work, but I have to try and keep my bias out of this. This card isn’t great, three dead draws just isn’t worth the removal. 2/5.

Quest lock probably won’t work unless blizzard prints some insane cards. This probably wont push it. While the 1/1 demons count towards the quest and have synergies, they will still be horrible draws. So far it looks like quest lock will be a meme deck at best, again.
    2/5

Quest is more for the Fel Lord deck than anything. One weakness of that deck is it uses alot of high cost minions where even in late game you drop 1 MAYBE 2 in a turn. Quest makes so your guaranteed to be able to play at least 2 big minions in late game. That’s especially usefull if play Rafaam and most likely lost your healing cards. Works with the Elekk plot twist combo as well to keep drawing and playing.

The issue with this card is it puts 3 cards in your deck that probably don’t want. The most likely deck to run this is carpet lock since give removal and more one cost minions. The fact that it gives 3 though is what hurts this cards options. Rafaam is only sure way to get value off of this as far as we’ve seen sense demons could pull 2 of the 3 from deck but that’s 7 Mana just to removal and recover some.

It’s an interesting card also take into account the quest that says you need to draw 20 cards. However this does work ok with sense demons since sense would put 2 in your hand anyway playing it after this would leave only 1 in your deck so shouldn’t hurt your top deck as much. Mana wise that isn’t to great but it does support cards that rely on demons.

The thing is the cost is tricky to work around in late game 4 Mana and 3 more minions is not that bad for a rafaam but early game those 3 minions can hurt your top deck. This is going based on other hard removal cards 5 Mana kills no condition (assassinate) 4 Mana with a condition of unhurt (walk the plank) had 1 Mana druid where opponent drew 2 cards. Other hard removal for warlock costed you a Mana crystal. Overall maybe this will see play with carpetlok since they are 1 cost minions.

Eeeh. If only it was 3 Mana or at least give us the portal demons (2/2 with rush). I get that this is suppose to buff Raffam by a little bit, but Rafaam pretty much sucks after some deep experimentation, and you might as well just use Shadowbolt instead. 2 Stars.

Worthless Imp is (presumably) the card you can already get from Sense Demons – a 1 mana 1/1 Demon.

It’s a clever card! You get a cheap spot removal, but at the cost of shuffling dross into your deck. At first glance, though, it seems kinda weak compared to Polymorph and Hex, which cost the same but also prevent deathrattles and ruins your opponent’s res pool. On the plus side, even shuffling worthless imps into your deck puts you several steps farther from fatigue, which can be a huge thing. If you don’t like the worthless imps in there you can even get rid of them with Arch-Villain Rafaam.

Will be interesting to see how this plays! Assuming Controllock can even be a thing again.

Controllock needs healing and a solid game plan to actually win the game. Fatigue is not a win condition because Warlock life taps it’s deck away. The downside of this card is far greater than say Blastcrystal Potion, which was often played in mid-game when losing a mana crystal was less oppressive (and Reno lock needed to find 30 singletons to play).

Rafaam is bad, it’s still bad, and isn’t played in Control Warlock decks anyway.

Based *solely* on the cards that exist now, this card is junk.

I never said any of those plays were instant wins, just that they were possible lol.

We’ve only seen 8% of the new cards, much less do we have any idea what archetypes the meta will/won’t be friendly towards, so you can’t make any pronouncements about what cards will/won’t be played (unless they’re obviously super good or obviously super garbage). You can only evaluate what sorta deck a given card might go into, what play/counterplay it unlocks, and what sort of support it would need to thrive.

So since we haven’t seen the whole set, we can only evaluate the card on its own merits.

Warlock is getting survivability tools, but there still isn’t a good control finisher(hakkar=> raffam is the closest we have). And the survivability tools are not consistant. We need a spot healing card in warlock.
