Water package is pretty viable, so it seems like this card will be pretty good. My only question is that will you really run two of these with Finja? The standard Water Package is only 5 cards, so unless more Murlocs are viable, this might be regulated to only one copy. I’m not sold on the Brrrrloc either, so I’ll keep weary about this card.
Should Quest Shaman become a thing though, this is a definite run two copies card.
There’s a murloc quest for chaman, and this makes it even better.
Also, not everyone plays Finja, that’s a good kill but it’s more a combo setup than a real aggro deck.
I already mentioned Quest Shaman.
Finja is part of the standard Water package. It’s basically the whole point of running the water package, because Finja can pull those guys out of the deck.
Where is the ‘Worthless Murloc’ token? 🙁
I think it’ll just give you a Tinyfin with perhaps some card text saying something like “You’ve run out of grown up murlocs, but there are still a few tinyfins around.”
That or you simply won’t be able to play the card.
Well if there will be a viable murloc shaman in the meta everyone will be playing 1, or most likely 2 copies of this card. You are going +1 without the mana drawback it usually has. Ever heard of pot of greed? You know why the card got banned from tournament play? That is right. Because going + without any drawback is straight up unfair. Well here is your pot of greed for murlocs.
Only reason it is not broken is because murloc shaman has never been a top tier deck.
It reminds me of the time priest got a certain 5 mana 5/6 dragon with the ability to choose from your opponents deck, which is to be fair a straight up unfair card. Maybe those cards are needed though to give fun archetypes a chance in constructed.
I hate to comment but I feel like I had to. The reason pot of greed was banned because ANY person could play it in there deck an automatically get a +1. With this card for one, you have to play murlocs which is a HUGE draw back and 2, you waste 2 mana. this card isnt even close to pot of greed. Sotp being stupid
I can find murlock wich u can play in ANY shaman deck
Bluegils in any agro
Corrupted oracles(one wit AOE) in any control
and in murlock decks is busted
just go only for finja package
its way stronger than u think
Bluegills may be able to fit in aggro Shaman, but is drawing them out to deal 4 damage come turn 4 or later worth losing the tempo if you played this turn 2? Plus if you drew even one Bluegill before playing this card, you’re only going to get 1 and maybe a 1/1 vanilla murloc token.
Shaman as a class has plenty of better AOE that are cheaper and deal more damage than Corrupted Seer and making it searchable doesn’t really help it.
In dedicated murloc decks, this can be useful if you can spare the tempo. You almost certainly shouldn’t play this on turn 2 though.
When playing with the Finja package, you could actually weaken the 5 card engine by drawing out it’s parts before Finja can drop them on the board.
It’s still a strong draw card, but not what is needed to make Murloc shaman work in standard at least. In wild where Anyfin is Awesome is playable, this will make that deck more consistent for the cost of a bit of tempo.
It doesn’t help that shaman doesn’t have a single class murloc creature to fill out this + the finja package.
I guess they did get the 2 mana glacial shard but meh.
nourish, arcane intellect, sprint, acoylte of pain, mana tide totem. Youre saying all of these are broken cards.
As a Yugioh player, I can tell you that this is no where near Pot of Greed’s power level, mostly because it’s not a zero mana card. You’re still paying something to play this no matter when you do so, you’re still losing tempo for card advantage. Sure it’s not three mana like most other draw 2 cards, but if you’re playing the typical water package of two Bluegills, two Warleaders, and Finja, you’re pretty much lowering the power of Finja by drawing out more of the cards it would summon.
Operative by itself isn’t really unfair either since the discover effect had a condition on it and you could get a choice of three relatively useless cards depending on the matchup.
I’m not saying either card isn’t powerful, I just don’t think either is broken.
You’re talking about a card on a totally different enviroment. YGO has no mana curve that’s why PoG and similar cards are banned.
On the other hand if you think Ice Fishing is like PoG, then Jaina’s arcane intellect is the same thing and much worse is Uther’s divine favor… etc etc.
The draw engines in TCGs & CCGs with mana curves aren’t broken cause when you play them you spend mana points…!!! (In YGO you don’t spend anything)
Quest shaman in Standard confirmed
It’s like Arcane Intellect (which is good), only better. FeelsMgglrglrMan 🙁
This card is really good, especially if you have warleader in hand.
RwLgRwGu Mm!! (POT OF GREED!!)
Shaman quest getting some support. Still bad though
Actually murloc shaman’s biggest drawback is card draw at the moment. The new murloc and this card will be autoincludes in that archetype. Who knows what might happen
🙂
Nice and cheap fuel source for murloc decks.
well, counting that most of 2 card draws cost 3 mana, a 2 mana, draw 2 (murlocs) in a murloc deck, is pretty solid!
