After the reveal of spirt of the frog this card seems far more interesting that before. You can use it plus that to guarantee the hex draw. The either use the hex to draw a 1 Mana spell or play the discovered card. Could lead to some interesting gameplay.
Here’s to hoping that Shaman gets a way to reduce spell cost with other cards and such. I dont want this to be a dead card.
Can’t be played in even shaman. Basically is a 0 mana discover a spell if you don’t intend on spending your mana on minions that turn. Doesn’t look that good to me. 2/5
This is not glyph for shamen
It does not keep the reduced cost
As such, is bad
2.6/5
Haunting Vision is somewhat like Farsight. The primary issue with the card is it costs a card to give another spell the effect of “Discover a Spell.” Shaman Spells aren’t really the greatest, and the ones someone would want to either play or discover the most like Lightning Storm, Volcano, and even Lava Burst all come with substantial overload costs.
With the card already costing three, it offers little if anything in the means of a tempo advantage like Preparation does. Also, without Combo effects, Preparation is a fair bit worse.
If this sees play, it will in a deck that only wants to play twenty-eight cards and needs two more and there isn’t any decent minions that would work with it.
Not as good as glyph, since you can’t make stronger tempo in later turns. Glyph was also handy because Mage’s spells slotted nicely into “single target removal”, “AoE”, and “Face burn”, allowing you to pretty consistently dig for the type of spell you needed. Shaman’s spells are so diverse that you can’t, say, rely on it to deliver an extra Volcano against Token decks or an extra Hex against Big minion decks.
Fine to pull from Hagatha but I don’t know why you’d run it, unless Shaman gets some sorta card that is activated by spamming spells.
So if you play Electra and this you get to discover two spells and then cast one of them (or some other spell in your hand) with a 6 mana discount?
I would believe the discount would not stack because of it being ‘next’ spell. But you would get 2 discovers so 2 chances of getting a decent spell with a 3 mana discount. Sounds good !
Maybe, but it’s the next spell “you cast” and, technically, Electra casts the second copy of Haunting Vision so it could be argued that this doesn’t count as your next spell. That means your next spell will have had two 3 mana discounts before you cast it.
Could be interpreted either way I think.
I think you’re right as the spell cast by Electra is not cast by you. I see no reason why it shouldn’t stack (maybe because the second spell is cast by Electra and the second discount is technically added to Electra’s next spell(which doesn’t make a difference))
Fair point, well it will fit into my keleseth/hagatha deck so i hope it does stack !
HAUNTING VISION, into HAUNTING VISION, into HAUNTING VISION, into HAUNTING VISION….
Glyph for Shaman, seems good
Again, a spell that you wouldn’t main deck but that you’d love to see come from Hagatha.
Good spell to get from hagatha, otherwise not worth the deckslot.
Far sight into hunting vision into far sight into hunting vision into hunting vision into some random spell that was already in your hand before you casted far sight
it’s about a 3% chance to get a farsight off a hunting vision
I’d pay to see that on youtube 😀
I wouldn’t underestimate this card
Why is that?
0 mana: Discover a Spell.
Would you play it?
I wouldn’t…
I might in some decks, but this card is actually worse than that.
Oh yeah because combos are worse… sure
Blimey is right. There is no combo like glyph to play blizzard turn 4 or something like that. this card is in fact a worse 0 mana discover.
0mana discover a spell would see play in even shaman
Discover is a strong effect
It’s a glyph for shaman that is at the same time more and less flexible. It can pull you an emergency volcano turn 5, but you can’t stockpile cheap Stormbringers. You can also just squeeze it into a normal turn to get a free spell while not sacrificing tempo. Overall a decent spell in slower decks.
Like Far Sight but creates a card instead of drawing one, and basically casts prep along with a half a raven idol. You can use this in all sorts of decks: It generates free value as long as you have a 3 mana plus spell, you can play Eureka and discover a lightning bolt at the same turn and malygos for 30 damage, you can electra into this to discover two spells and make your next spell cost 0. Very flexible card, fits in any shaman deck except Even. 4/5.
The name should be frog visions.
0/5
So this is like Preparation.
But it costs 3 instead of 0 and let you discover a spell. Think its okay. 4/5
It’s not like prep because you’re not actually saving any mana; it’s more like Haunting Vision costs 0 as long as you play another spell this turn.
Another spell that costs 3+* but as long as you’re not playing a 0 cost spell next you’re gaining some value out of it.
