1 word… meh. This card is absolutely just par. the weapon it self is worth about oh 3 mana on the dot (compared to fiery war ax). the 4/2 will come at turn 5 at the earliest so saying it’s 2 mana is pretty generous as there is decay as turns progress.
But guys, at 5 mana usually things will die and you have a 4-2 as tempo to smack someone in the face
Wait does the elemental do anything or is it just a 4/2? Even if it doesn’t do anything its still preeeeeety good.
Pretty sure it’s just a 4/2.
You use hammer of twilight I’ll use doom hammer, I hope we play each other
Doomhammer is likely to get a nerf 😉
doomhammer does overload but I agree this is just a so-so card.
The lake of overload is disturbing… What are you planning Blizzard?
Not bad. I think it is in line with the other 4/2 weapons. It is definitely annoying to deal with considering you can’t just use acidic swamp ooze to kill it; you have to do acidic swamp ooze to kill the weapon then still trade. Harrison Jones would not be a recommended card to play against this weapon because Harrison Jones will die to the 4/2 next turn. I think this is a great midrange card. It has a lot of combo potential and it is sticky.
The Harrison Jones thing is an angle I didn’t think about, I like that the Elemental basically counters him. I guess if you look at the Weapon being worth 4-mana, and the Elemental being worth 2-mana you are getting 1-mana of extra value.
Harrison Jones is a relatively poor play against this weapon because the opponent would make an up-trade; the 4/2 would trade into a 5/4. Additionally, this weapon is a 4/2 itself, so if the opponent plays another one the next turn, they can just kill your 5/4 and still have the 4/2 to hit face, buff, or use in another trade. Since this is a weapon, it cannot be silenced, so you cannot stop the 4/2 from spawning when the weapon dies; this means that it is a very tricky weapon to kill. One of the huge benefits that can be reaped from this weapon is that weapon-holding it has basically no risk because you don’t have to be worried about losing the attacks if it is killed. This is a 5-mana card that can potentially make 3 trades; that is amazing in a control/midrange deck due to the incredible value.
if cho is a warlock, why his hammer this with
the shaman class?
Cho is not a warlock, Gall is a warlock. Cho owns the hammer.
and cho is?
A pain in the ass for Gall
Cho’gall is an Ogre Magi, which puts him in range of Mage, Priest, Warlock and Shaman, while Cho is also considered a Warrior.
Cho’Gall is also shaping up to be the warlock legendary with the artwork for Kranich’s too be released card(http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/expansions-adventures/whispers-of-the-old-gods/), since Gall is a warlock, and we haven’t seen Warlock’s legendary yet. That or maybe a spell of some sort.
that’s bullshit, cho’gall do not control the elements, his hammer dont belong to shaman class
5 mana deaths bite weapon stats and summon a 4/2 without any overloads?!
meh.
5 mana is a lot for a weapon
Have you SEEN the stats?
Tempo-wise it’s not great but not horrible. Playing Death’s Bite on turn 5 isn’t the worst.
Value-wise, it’s awesome. It could kill one or two minions and also make a 4/2, which might eat a removal or trade with something else on the board. Getting 2-3 cards for one without any other needed synergy is pretty strong.
5 mana for a 4/2 weapon AND a 4/2 minion, not bad.
whatever it is that Blizz smoked while making the new shaman cards I hope they continue smoking it for the future!
I’ll be damned! 4th shaman card and still no evidence of overload!
is shaman finally getting a chance for something more than trogg-aggro??? I really hope so!
I would be happier with 4 mana or a 3/3 elemental.
me too bro me too…
Despite this is very good card I don’t think that it will replace Doomhammer. Does Shaman need additional 5 mana cost weapon?
The decks that would run Doomhammer aren’t the same ones that would run this. Doomhammer is more for combos with Rockbiter and it has overload, this is much better in control since you get the same damage as Doomhammer each turn without Rockbiter but it doesn’t last as long and you get something else out of it.
Rockbiter isn’t going to give you as much value combined with this as it would with Doomhammer true but even with a more control focused meta, being able to instantly take out a Mogu’Shan Warden is not to be sniffed at.
I’m imagining this in a control deck with Mukla’s Champion maybe.
WHERE’S THE OVERLOAD, GUYS? THIS IS MADNESS!
The fourth card in a row without
I’m actually really glad there inst overload, its a really silly mechanic that often inhibits you more than it helps. Plus I think shaman needed some strong class cards.
overload is a bit weak yes, you (in most cases) pay 1 extra mana just so you can pay part of the cost the next turn
It does suck most of the time when you get overloaded, but the point of overload is that you get something super strong earlier than you should, and it also allows you to split up the cost of a card between 2 turns. There are cards that work around overload; cards that get buffs when you get overloaded and a card to remove overload. I think there should be more overload synergy cards because I think it is an interesting mechanic. The only problem with overload is that tunnel trogg is such a degenerate card that giving shaman more strong overload cards just makes aggro shaman better, and we dont need that. The lack of overload may be due to tunnel trogg.
they can add late game legendaries with huge overload like 10 mana + 5 overload badass cards seriously i wana see big badass shaman legends wich will overload a tone but will be like deathwing with chenging situation on the table
