Yeah, this card is busted pretty much as everyone else has agreed. The thing is, board clears are one of the view high-cost cards that you’d actually be fine with keeping in your mulligan, since you’ll get guaranteed value out of them against aggro decks–and this card is absolutely insane if held from turn 1. Even if you draw into it, it’s better than hellfire after only 3 turns–a few turns later, it’s a 5 mana twisting nether. Control shaman is shaping up to be an extremely competitive deck.

(Rating based on play it will see in the upcoming meta, similar to trump’s ratings)

    5 Stars

Only needs to be in hand for 2 turns to be an extremely powerful effect in control shaman, if you keep it for longer its disgustingly overpowered. I’m shocked that this is being printed. It would probably still be run if it had overload (3).

On the very niche chance that you are in a top decking war against an aggro deck (which is very unlikely with so much value generation from cards like the hagatha hero card), then its bad. However this is so unlikely in shaman.

With the Hagatha hero card still being around, this card will be a mainstay in a deck that already looks pretty good in the next meta.

5 Stars as an extremely powerful card in a (at worst) tier 2 deck.

I think this card is bad and not even close to volcano. First of all you have to keep it in your starting hand to get good value. Than its gone be a dead card to turn 5. Second thing this card is extremly slow. Third thing what you gone do when you gone draw it late game its gone be 5 mana deal 1 dmg 😀 And shaman hasnt got any good card draw For me this card is unplayable. Just compare it to defile, meteor, volacano, helfire this card looks just bad.

I can safely say that this card is batshit insane. As revealed in the latest hearthstone video (as of when this is written) there is no cap for how many times schemes can upgrade. This will replace volcano and I can see this being run in a lot of shaman decks in the foreseeable future.
    Solid 5/5

its a replacement for volcano basically.
both stronger and weaker depending on when its drawn

I think control Shaman will be a thing. I’m not jumping to that conclusion yet though. Remember freeze Shaman was supposed to be a thing?lol

Four turns sitting in your hand to start being playable? 4/5? Wtf guys?
Against aggro, you have to hard mulligan for this and pray you’re not dead / half-dead by turn 4-5.
I’d say this card is better against midrange or control decks but it all depends on how many turns has it been in your hand, waiting for the best moment / the moment you can’t hold it anymore because you have to survive.
    2.5/5 to me.

The question what you gone do when u draw it late game or turn 4-5 and playing against aggro decks 😀 Keeping card for 4 turns to get value is not an option because like JKoala said you want to clear board instantly or you gone lose because its gone be 5 mana deal 1 dmg 😀 Thats the difference between volcano and this crap.

    Volcano 2.0.

Decenttt, but super weak in a lot of circumstances. It would shine in a slow control deck with multiple board clear and removal options so you can reliably let it sit in hand for 3+ turns to start to tap into its value. Very different potential to volcano, will be harder to build into a deck, but will feel good dropping a 20+ damage board clear now and then 🙂

Definitely a good card I rarely ever played a volcano within 3 turns of being in my hand and can combo it with Omega for heal could beat out 8 Mana volcano + healing rain.

what is hearthstone if there is no saltifying board clear topdecks? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

    0/5

This is one of the best AoE cards in Hearthstone, ever. At its best (if you draw it early), it’s like a Dragon’s Fury minus the randomness and minus the deckbuilding requirements; the requirement of staying in your hand for a few turns is significant, but this is still fantastic. 5/5.

Any Shaman deck that would run Volcano would feel perfectly comfortable running this. There’s no Overload with Hagatha’s Scheme, but the downsides (compared to Volcano) are it can’t adapt itself to tall minions, and you’ll probably lose a few games when you topdeck this in a pinch.

If you wanna live ~*~the dream~*~ it’s probably the best spell to pair with Omega Mind, FWIW.

Hagatha’s Scheme does seem like an effective piece of anti-aggro tech, especially when drawn early. If kept in the opening hand, it will be a deal five to everything effect.

Granted, when drawn latter, it will suck for the first couple turns and will not replace Lightning Storm in Midrange and Control oriented Shaman decks. Instead, it will supplement it much like Volcano did. To some extent, its even better since it has no Overload cost.
