anyone know if, when this procs at 10 mana, you get a card draw?
oh man this card is really good for big druid. But why make it 3/1? it can easily die to some abilities. I even prefer if it was a 1/2. This card can be a two in one, mana generating but not really a removal (trade) card
I think this was meant to be played with the new options for recruiting a 4 or less cost minion. If you play the card that recruits a 4 or less minion and gains 6 armor landing on this, they would kill it to prevent it from trading up, so it would basically be like mire keeper with 2 less health but plus 6 armor. Shadow madness is a possible serious counter but probably too slow to see play anyway. Silence also hurts, but your deck will have better silence targets so that being wasted on this seems possibly good unless it prevents you from getting to the big guns.
I don’t think this will see much play with the current cards in Jade or big druid because the other ramp options are better in those decks, unless they need extra ramp. It would see play in those decks after next standard rotation. This would work better as a mana ramp minion in a deck that cares about cards costing 4 or less not having a battlecry.
The new druid archetype they’re pushing is like a control warrior thing with tons of armor and taunts. You’d play Hadronox and N’Zoth for finishers, with tons of the recruit 4 or less minions with taunts and this guy for ramp, and a bunch of armor synergy for board control and survival. I would consider trying the Guild Recruiter in that deck, sounded really bad when it was announced early but could be very playable here as the statlines you would pull with it are actually excellent for 5 cost and since you have so many options for pulling multiple minions, Mark of the Lotus could tilt those plays to be something very decisively powerful.
Not to mention that with 3 attack it dodges Pint-Size Potion -> Potion Of Madness

Now… is this better than Jade Blossom and Mire Keeper? Druid already has a lot of ramp and they do necessarily have enough of it.
Jade Blossom already gives a Mana Crystal, and builds your Jades.
Mire Keeper is 1 Mana more but gives you a 3/3 instead of a 3/1 body, plus for Mire Keeper it’s a Battlecry.
I’m learning toward that this isn’t a very good card. It’s a Deathrattle, but a 3/1 is a 3/1 and this goes down quickly, to something small like a ping, which dealt with that for 1 Mana less. The Deathrattle is not good enough to run this card, and the stats of 3/1 aren’t good.
Just keep running Jade Blossom and Mire Keeper, Druids. This card doesn’t make the cut. 2/5
You’re absolutely right, but both of those cards are rotating out in a few short months (along with pilfered power, thought that’s not as important. I think this is blizzard preparing for druids to still be able to ramp after rotation.
Oh, really? Silly me then for not knowing that! If Ramp Druid DOES still exist at that point then it certainly won’t nearly as good running this card.
i disagree. this card seems quite strong to me. wild growth is 2 mana. so you’re getting a 3/1 for 1. secondly you’re opponent has to spend resources killing it. sure they can just ping it. but that’s 2 mana (or sometimes a card) they aren’t spending on something else. and you’re happy to have it die. also sometimes you’re opponent won’t want to kill it giving you the chance to dictate trades.
Why would your opponent kill this? If they do it wouldn’t give you an empty mana crystal, it’d give you a full one because you’d get it on their turn, and at the start of your turn your mana crystals refresh (obviously)
Also, Wild Growth doesn’t have to wait for a Deathrattle, AND you can coin it out on turn 1.
Honestly, most classes don’t have to trade. Mage has Hero Power, same with Rogue, Druid. Shaman can Maelstrom and Warlock can Mortal Coil. Paladin can trade in with his Hero Power. Hunter can trade Alleycat.
There is no upside to playing this card and is noticeably weaker. WAY weaker.
is not weaker, it is just not meant for ramp druid/big druid/jade druid; it could work in aggro druid, it has nice stats and as you just mentioned: opponent wouldn’t want to kill it right away so you get to buff and trade/smorc -it’s a ramp card that is not meant for ramp
Than in such respect Crypt Lord/Southsea Captain is better than this in a 3 slot. I personally don’t think the power level here is good enough.
it’s obviously not better than those two, but it could find a way on some aggro lists easier than on traditional ramp decks

Its the same with mire keeper. Actually its even better because deathrattle can still activate later but battlecry cant.
The death rattle is obviously useless if it’s already turn 10 and you can play a Y’shaarj
NOT better than Jade blossom since it’s too slow. I don’t think it’s good at all.
Remember guys, jade blossom is going to cicle out soon. So this is the replacement.

You don’t replace jade blossom by this card in big druid. You just add it to your deck in addition to the other ramp. LUL
This card is better than jade blossom in every deck that isn’t jade druid
I don’t see the point. You get +2 atack but its deathrattle so if opponent dont kill it you can’t use the cristal next turn. I dont think this 2 extra attack matter so mach cause 1 healt dies to most of the times and the delay in the mana can be a big drawback sometimes
Could be good in some kind of Token Druid, but im not sure. Druid will get the worst cards in this expansion :/
